    Nobody could play long melodious riffs like Eric. He is the best by far. On the other had Jimi Hendrix would come up with quick bursts of lead and he had tremendous showmanship whereas Eric stood in one place and from there he blew the universe. Clapton is God. The closest he came to the cross is Crossroads.

      Two totally different styles. Eric was quoted as saying jimi blew him and all the rest outta the water. That being said, I always preferred to listen to clapton as I prefer a little more structure and mellower tones on my ear drums. Just my opinion

    Put these guys together and they could be phenomenal with a bunch of rocks. Clapton is just the greatest, but you have Nathan East just killing that Bass, Steve Gadd on Drums, and anytime you have Billy Preston on that Hammond, you're goin to Church. The amount of talent on that Stage is thru the roof ✌️

    • @robinblackmoor8732
      @robinblackmoor8732 Год назад +3

      @@sodoberman Ringo Starr got a lot of criticism for his simplistic drumming. The thing his he could hold a steady beat throughout an entire song and a whole show. That is hard to do. You can measure Ringo's playing and he has perfect time. Gadd does that too, but then he goes off into that Godlike drumming that Neil Peart is famous for. Drumming is no where near as easy as men like this make it look. I can play a bit of guitar and bass. I could not play drums well to save my life.

      Not really. Nobody could play long melodious riffs like Eric. He is the best by far. On the other had Jimi Hendrix would come up with quick bursts of lead and he had tremendous showmanship whereas Eric stood in one place and blew the universe. Clapton is God. The closest he came to the cross is Crossroads.
