If I had a time machine I'd go back to around about this time and STEAL BUDGIE and bring him back here with me and just listen to him drumming all day long & watch him banging his head all around with that shock of blonde hair.... Siouxie was a lucky woman, but then again she's so effing amazing in her own ways that if I were to go back in my time machine and steal Budgie she would probably just summon her own Siouxie Sioux powers and reach through time and have him back within seconds with a slap upside the head for me as she did it... I love them both so much!!!
I believe that Siouxsie and the Banshees sponsored some zoo animals in Regent's Park Zoo in around 1983. They talked about it in an interview in Melody Maker, and again later in Smash Hits magazine. They sponsored a peccary which they named Gregory (a word play on Gregory Peck?), and other animals that weren't cute and cuddly, as they didn't have many sponsors. Budgie had heard on LBC Radio that nobody seems interested in taking up the patronage of the peccary, a bristling pig-like animal reputed to stink to high heaven, so they duly adopted him.
I like his drumming in the Israel song and the fact budgie is always smiling. Hes the one that cant help cracking a smile whilst everyone else looks moody in the vids 😊
I read an interview with him where he said that Siouxsie forced him to develop new patterns by taking away his familiar "toys" while they were writing.
I could listen to him all day. Was right taken with this video the first time I saw it, a wee while ago. Watching again and decided to put a comment in. Loved his hair like that !😊
