It’s insane to me that they would skimp on price and not use as much material. Platinum is a much more dense and heavier metal.
I am a digital nomad so I travel a lot and am really excited about this as it has the benefits of Amex without it being a credit card (which I don’t use) I average anywhere from 1-4 flights per month depending where I’m going and having full access to lounge pass alone is worth it for me along with travel/medical insurance which saves money. The apps aswell are a huge plus. So waiting impatiently for the waitlist to be full filled and get it in my hands !
Revolute uses dragonpass wich is basicly useless as a lounge access pas. if lounge is near full u are basically always on a waiting list as other people tend to go FIRST like airlines ticket first class passengers and other cc accompany holders.
Insurance is only valid if you buy return ticket to your country and trip is not longer than 90 days so it's useless for most digital nomads
@@gigatech20I didn’t know this! Interesting. Although both Mastercard and Visa card have now switched to dragon pass leaving only AMEX with PP. I have both dragon pass and PP, will be trying dragon pass to see if it is any worse

Did you know if you take the offer of first 3 months at £45 and thereafter £55.00 you dont get 5% cash back on your first month. Felt I was being kicked in the stomach when I found out today.

@@haris1687 I would recommend checking their terms & conditions on downgrading the plan (ruclips.net/video/DXjuaNDKLBc/видео.htmlsi=I2iuTo0gMsIhlP5D&t=562). That's the part of the video I discuss this. If you do this, you'll likely have to pay a fee.
Decided to get this for the lounge access, travel insurance, FT subscription nord vpn subscription. That being said one important thing to note is that the AMEX platinum card gives lounge access to you AND a guest which this doesn’t.

Is it also like metal on plastic like the metal card? Or is it fully metal? I had Revolut metal but after 1 year of use the metal part came off
It's referred to as 'platinum-plated' so I'm thinking it's wrapped in platinum. It also weighs the same as the metal cards so probably not too dissimilar in build. Did you use your metal card a lot for that to happen? Mine only scratched, I've never had the metal actually come off. ^Jonny

Hey! Sorry for the delay getting back. Yes you can still use the card because as per Revolut's terms (www.revolut.com/legal/paid-plans/) you'll always be charged a fee if you choose to receive the card unless you hold the account for 6 months (I think). ^Jonny

Sure. I would suggest using Revolut as you can deposit euros into the account and exchange them for US dollars. Do you also need a way to pay tuition? Or will your Revolut account just be used as a spending account? ^Jonny
free at max, unless you transfer a lot of money through it, otherwise don't use a premium/paid debit card in the US ... not worth the price
ask your college they should provide you with resources and information. get a real credit card and use it wisely. Capital One has some good products which do not require a social security number

Hey. What makes you say that? IMO they're not comparable. Curve Metal is closer to N26 Metal, Monzo Premium etc. But Ultra has free airport lounge access, triple the fee-free ATM withdrawals, access to numerous free subscriptions and Revolut also uses the real, mid-market rate and Curve uses Mastercard's FX rates which are typically worse.
That's not to say Curve Metal doesn't have its advantages, mobile phone insurance, go back in time, smart rules and obviously its ability to give you access to Apple/Google Pay even if the original card doesn't allow it. But to say Metal does 99% of what Ultra does is just not true.
@@Monitodotcom If you are a FT subscriber, especially on FT Premium Digital subscription, getting current subscription refunded and moving to partner subscription with Revolut Ultra alone compensates almost completely the annual expense. I would expect partner offers to change at some point, but probably not during the first year of paid annual subscription...
Great looking card but I would still choose my Amex Platinum Card over the Revolut anyway.
Amex is in a whole different league compared to Revolut.
We have to remember, regardless of how slick they make their cards, they are still PREPAID cards which are widely frowned upon. Even on a British Airways flight, they don’t accept Revolut cards as payment, not sure why though.
Revolut is still just a FinTech company after all.

also "premium" debit cards are cringe
and stop misleading your viewers, the lounge access is nowhere near dedicated amex access, it's dragonpass which is only a solution if the lounges are empty, otherwise you don't get in as you have no priority
