    Chase have changed their cash back offer, it now has a qualifying monthly spend, but it now continues month by month. so that's not bad considering it is free.

    • @LoyaltyLlama

      Agreed. For day-to-day spending, I'd pick Chase over Revolut. But I'm hoping to use the latter for large purchases where Chase either doesn't give cashback or it'd go significantly over £15 / month of cashback limit of theirs. E.g. planning to pay my tax bill with HMRC tomorrow. Will use Revolut and see if I get points!

    Great vid! FT is a nice perk
    For many the FT is essential to have. They’re likely aware of this hence the monthly price

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад

      Ah, interesting! Then I guess for people who like FT, that subscription alone justifies the fee for Ultra, everything else is a nice free bonus.

  • @TekFreq

    It's worth it for me, i all ready paid 12.99 for metal and 11.99 for nord vpn so its only an extra 20 quid for the extra bonuses

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад

      Yeah, that's ideal when you already spend money on things the card would give you. Makes the decision to get the card much simpler.

    The 1.2% cashback with the Pro card you can get from the Ultra account is a good perk. It has unlimited spending. Despite this, overall I don’t though the Ultra is worth it

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад

      True, that's quite a good rate (assuming you have legitimate business / side hustle expenses)

      1.2% cashback worldwide without limit ? That would be decent

    I pay £6.99 for Revolut Premium and it gives me all the benefits I need. The card itself looks pretty cool though.

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад +2

      That makes sense. Lower Revolut tiers offer pretty much the same banking benefits. Ultra just gives you 3 things on top of that: the cool looking card, lounge access and the subscriptions.

    • @TonyKeepingItClean
      @TonyKeepingItClean Год назад

      @@LoyaltyLlama yessir. The Su scripts aren’t really for me. The lounge access would be nice but I travel maybe 2-3 times a year so I am better off just paying the discount price if I want it. I like the card but there is no way I’m going from £6.99 a month up to whatever the ultra is. £50+?

    Hey dude, really love all your vids as ive just started out in my credit card journey. Can you please make a video comparing thr amex gold vs amex ba plus, given that i am traveling atleast once a year in a round trip to India, it would help a lot of people to make a decision. Cheers !

    how much can you spend online because my american platinum i can spend up to 100,000 usd.

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад

      I'm not aware of any published restrictions on the online spend with Revolut. Also note that Revolut only offers debit cards while Amex Platinum is either a credit or a charge card.

    ultra is worth it for the subscription services. lol FT is 600 pounds a year and ultra is 550 a year

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад +1

      Completely agree. If you're paying for those subscriptions anyway, then Ultra is a no-brainer.

    • @81i2b49cj
      @81i2b49cj Год назад +2

      FT £207 a year. It's £600+ for 3 years, not per year

    • @foobar1500
      @foobar1500 Год назад

      @@81i2b49cj Annual Premium Digital subscription was 579 euros earlier this year here in Finland. Revolut Ultra initial offer with the same subscription level is 600 euros; in combination with the 5% extra cashback on the first month (capped to 50 euros) that already exceeds the cost of Ultra.

      You can combine rewards from Curve with whatever the underlying debit / credit card gives you! It's a shame they don't support Amex.

      Curve metal gives you everything this revolut card does for 14.99 a month

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад

      Curve Metal is comparable to Revolut Metal. It doesn't have the free lounge access (instead it charges £20 per visit) and the subscriptions that Ultra offers.

      @@LoyaltyLlama agreed but I don’t travel more than once a year, that’s with kids so won’t be using an airport lounge, and I have no interest in the FT or the other subscription offers provided

      Got it, then you're right, the Metal tier makes much more sense!

  • @dysaster4521

    Im really wanting to get the premium for the sole reason of the unlimted access to airport lounges

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад +1

      Do you mean Ultra? Cause Revolut also has a tier called Premium, which is a bit different and doesn't offer free lounge access. If you're looking at Ultra mainly for lounge access, consider other similarly priced and cheaper options. E.g. Amex Platinum is slightly cheaper at £575 a year but offers better lounge access (can take guests, Amex Centurion and Eurostar lounges in addition to Priority Pass) or HSBC World Elite Mastercard (but there's a minimum income or savings requirement there), review - ruclips.net/video/upY5XzAYnI0/видео.html.

    Do you know that if you pay your Ultra card on a monthly basis. You do not have the right to 5% cash back for the first month. Very disappointing . I found that out after receiving my Card. :(

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад +1

      Oh no, sorry that happened! Are you still planning to keep the card?
      I do mention in the video that you need to take out the annual plan to get 5% cashback in your first month.

    • @robertolira9843
      @robertolira9843 Год назад

      @LoyaltyLlama Yes I am keeping the card at least first year to see how valuable it will be . Yes watched your video again as I had missed the bit you mentioned .

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад +1

      If you're confident about keeping the card for a year, you can contact the support to see if they'd switch on the 5% cashback deal in exchange for you moving to the annual plan. You'd also save on fees that way (£540 annual fee works out to £45 monthly as opposed to £55 fee on the monthly plan)
      But bear in mind that the annual plan doesn't offer any refunds if you decide to cancel. Personally, I don't like being locked in for a year (Amex being the exception cause they do offer refunds if you cancel)

      There're definitely disadvantages compared to high street banks in terms of the support you can get. That's why I only use Revolut for specific benefits that I need, while doing the rest of my banking elsewhere.

    People compare Revolut with Amex plans. But the thing is Amex is super inconvenient and not accepted anywhere. To me, does not matter how good the benefits are if every single time you pay you have to be like "do you accept Amex?" and then you always need another card with you because it is likely that, especially in Europe and the UK, there will be places where Amex is not accepted.

    • @LoyaltyLlama
      @LoyaltyLlama  Год назад

      I agree there are places where Amex is still not accepted. But in personal experience I only run into that once every few months, so doesn't bother me much.
