I thought why not, enabled the revpoint program, however I didn't notice the spare change feature. So now I've spent 40€ to get 2000 revpoints worth around 12€ on booking. Very much worth it.
Revolut hotel prices are worse than what you get when booking on other platforms. I ha e ultra and think slow service/and the benefits does not equal the cost of the plan.
Hi and I would say it depends, initially I had the same thoughts but in recent times I found cheaper options on Revolut even compared to Booking com Genius 3 plus the RevPoints you get in return. For me I also benefit from all the other great benefits like cashback, airport lounge and partner benefits so it's more than worth it, but I understand it might not be for everyone 👌
@@SmartMoneywithKai With a lot of other stuff I think it depends on when and where you try to book, I've found hotels cheaper on Revolut than other platforms, and that's without the 10% cashback they offered before, so that was another big bonus. They've since then removed the cashback on stays, and are now removing FIAT cashback. I'll be downgrading my subscription because I don't really use any of the subscriptions they offer either, and have lounge access through other cards. Moving forwards Revolut will still be my main bank for SEPA transfers, and I do need high FX-conversion limits due to my native currency not being EUR, so I'll probably stick with Plus or Premium. All in all I really like Revolut, but for me the price for Metal or Ultra isn't worth it. I'm strongly considering moving to the Nexo card for now.
Once a again, great video with a clear explanation. I am stick like a glue with my Revolut Metal card for everyday expenses. The RevPoints are valid for 3 years from the date they're received in our accounts.
Thanks a lot for sharing Pedro and great insight, did not know about the 3 years, so this is great and should be long enough for most users. How you plan to redeem them? Convert to miles? I am waiting for more clarity on Revolut Pay, that would be nice to use it for that 👌
@@SmartMoneywithKai Fow now definitely I will wait for more details on Revolut Pay system and accumulate my RevPoints. But I already connected my Flying Blue card to the miles system and if I find a good deal on a next travel flight I'll consider to convert the points in miles. Let's wait and see.
They can change the ratio every time, like the airlines do. Before you could get a free flight for 10k points, now you need 50k. It's a way for them to reduce the value of the points in the future. So, no thank you. I won't do anything special in order to get points.
Hi and thanks for sharing. Yeah, that's why generally I am also not a fan of points in general, just so hard to track and stay on top of, I just prefer to get actual cashback and 1.2% with Pro is pretty sweet 👌
I just noticed I spent 280 Euros in the last 03 months due to the spare change feature. Completely disappointed, I wish I could have seen your video before. Will try to redeem my 17000 Rev points now in some useful way.
Hi. To be eligible for travel insurance coverage under Revolut's Ultra plan, you must use your Revolut account to pay for at least 75% of your primary transport and accommodation expenses. This includes payments made via your Revolut Pro account, as it is part of the Revolut ecosystem. Therefore, using your Revolut Pro account to pay for these expenses should maintain your eligibility for the insurance coverage provided by the Ultra plan. Ensure that your Ultra plan is active at the time of booking and throughout your trip to retain coverage. For detailed information, refer to Revolut's official guidelines. You can read more here help.revolut.com/help/app-features/travel-insurance/do-i-have-to-pay-for-my-trip-using-my-revolut-account/ Cheers
Hi Kai great video, just a quick question with my standard revolut card I have to turn on spare change round-ups to earn revpoints for spending money. I was wondering if the paid plans (i.e premium, metal and Ultra) allow you to earn revpoints with round ups turned off. That would really incentivize me to upgrade as I don't want to spend money buying revpoints.
it's an immutable process of all companies, once they have acquired a large market share or monopoly, they insiduously lower all the advantages step by step.it's still interesting for a few emergency withdrawals or contactless payments when traveling, but there's no point in increasing your expenses with the card.By the way since your video they removed the upgrade bonus...what next..
Hi 👋 The value of 10,000 Revolut RevPoints varies based on how you choose to redeem them: Airline Miles: Each RevPoint converts to one air mile. Therefore, 10,000 RevPoints equal 10,000 air miles. The monetary value of these miles depends on the airline's redemption rates and the specific flights you book. Hotel Stays: Redeeming 5,000 RevPoints can provide up to €100 off a hotel booking through Revolut Stays. Thus, 10,000 RevPoints could offer up to €200 in discounts on accommodations. Experiences and Shopping Discounts: The value of RevPoints for experiences or shopping discounts varies depending on the specific offers available at the time of redemption. Please note that the actual value you receive can vary based on the specific redemption options and current offers available through Revolut. Cheers
@@SmartMoneywithKai sorry but i am sceptical.... how for the god sake, with 10k points we gonna travel like from Europe to USA, this ticket coast usually more than 1000 USD? This is just an other revolut crap, cant be real.
Metal user here. Rev points are not a good deal. Cashback was better. It's a gimmick. You can get prices for flights hotels and experiences cheaper elsewhere with out using rev points for "discounts".
Hi 👋 I hear you. Cashback is straightforward and flexible, giving you real money back to use anywhere. RevPoints can feel restrictive, often not offering the best deals compared to other options. If you're finding better prices elsewhere, cashback might be the better choice for you, for me as well 😉 Cheers, Kai
TL;DR: Yet another stupidly complicated human invention 😞 Nice but fine prints… 1) You receive points only for transactions with eligible merchants… and who are they? 🤷♂ 2) You still have to register to the loyalty program of all the airline companies. And as you said, will the points expire before I can use them? 3) 7:30 You can't even always use your points. 4) 8:20 The value of points depends… so usually you've a few interesting things but the majority sucks. Then you can only spend the points via Revolut's flights/stays/experiences… which, I wouldn't be surprise, are more expensive (9:20). So in the end, is it worth losing so much time, first trying to understand their program, then managing those points?
Hi 👋 I get the frustration-loyalty programs like this often sound great on paper but come with a maze of fine print and restrictions. Let’s break it down: Eligible Merchants? Exactly. It’s often unclear who qualifies, so you might not earn points where you expect to. Airline Loyalty Registration: Yep, it’s on you to register with each airline, and you’re stuck worrying about expiration dates. Point Redemption Limits: True-points aren’t always usable when or where you want. Blackout dates and restrictions are common. Questionable Value: Most programs dangle a few attractive options, but the bulk of redemptions usually feel underwhelming. Inflated Prices for Redemption: Spot on-if you’re locked into their platform to use points, they can hike prices, eroding the "value." The Verdict: Unless you're already using the platform heavily, have a clear strategy, or enjoy diving into the details, it’s probably not worth the hassle. For most people, simple cashback or straightforward rewards work better. Cheers
