Love your Revolt videos. I love the app and using more and more now. I did upgrade to the Ultra plan as I loved the partner subscriptions. NordVPN and Deliveroo. Plus I really like the physical platinum card. But I have decided to down grade to Premium. I still get the NordVPN and the Deliveroo. Also I still get to keep and use the Platinum card. I did have to pay a month break fee but over all I will be saving £37 a month. I think the Premium plan is amazing value now.
Thanks a lot and fully agreed, Premium is a steal at this price, Revolut now really needs to step up their Ultra offering, otherwise many people, possibly even myself, might downgrade in the future. Cheers
What plan would you recommend for receiving a one-time large payment? I’ve been abroad for six months and bought a car that I’m now selling. The buyer wants to pay me in the local currency, but I don’t have a local bank account. I’d prefer not to carry a large amount of foreign cash back home. What should I do?
Hi 👋 If you're looking to receive a one-time large payment in a foreign currency without holding a local bank account, Revolut is a solid option. Here’s what you can do: Receiving Large Payments with Revolut: No Maximum Limit for Incoming Transfers: Revolut allows you to receive large amounts via bank transfer, but the sending bank may have its own limits. Make sure to check this with the buyer. Plan Recommendations: All Revolut plans allow you to receive payments. However, higher-tier plans like Premium or Metal offer added perks such as higher currency exchange limits and lower fees for international transfers. If you’re dealing with a large amount or planning to exchange it, upgrading might be worthwhile. Steps to Proceed: Share Your Revolut Account Details: Provide your IBAN and other required details to the buyer to facilitate the transfer. Convert the Currency: Once the payment is in your Revolut account, you can convert it to your home currency within the app. Be mindful of exchange limits tied to your plan. Transfer to Your Home Bank Account: After converting the funds, you can send them to your primary bank account if needed. Important Considerations: Verification for Large Transfers: Revolut may ask for documentation to verify the source of the funds for regulatory compliance. Be prepared to provide proof of the transaction. Currency Exchange Fees: Large conversions may exceed fair usage limits in standard plans, which can result in fees. Premium or Metal plans can help reduce costs in such cases. Transfer Limits: While Revolut doesn’t cap incoming amounts, check with the sending bank to ensure smooth processing. By using Revolut, you can receive the payment securely without needing to handle large sums of cash or open a local bank account. Cheers
I have decided to go with Metal as I started looking at Revolut simply due to that one perk of the FT. The extra £30 a month for ultra is not worth it for me. One important part to clarify if you make another video on Revolut is the car hire insurance. It only covers the EXCESS. This means you should still buy car insurance when you go abroad. You usually have to pay a few hundred euros in excess to cover any damage so you don't have to pay thousands but, that excess part you would usually lose. Revolut protect that excess amount, they don't offer full insurance. Just thought worth calling out as your description of it in this video made me think it covered me fully. Thanks for helping me come to Metal as being the right plan for me!
Hey Tom👋 Super glad to hear you're going with the Metal plan - it's a sleek choice! 👌 And you're absolutely right about the car hire insurance. It's a crucial point and I appreciate you bringing it up. 🙏 Revolut's car hire insurance indeed covers only the excess, not the whole shebang. It's like having a safety net for the "just in case" moments, but not the full armor. I'll make sure to highlight this in future videos to avoid any confusion. 🎥💡 Thanks a ton for your feedback and well done on joining the Metal squad💥 Cheers
Hi Tom, I’m curious to understand better what you mean by excess amount and how car insurance really works. I couldn’t find a clear answer online so I thought I might ask you directly
Hi and no, sadly you can't trade them for others. If you sign up for any of those services, it's very easy and Revolut app will guide you through the process. My wife also made sure I can't use Tinder app 😂
Hi, great video thanks. Quick question to anyone that knows regarding the travel insurance. It's my understanding that Premium covers the card holder and children but Metal also includes partner or cohabitant and children. Can anyone confirm. My info is from the 'Welcome' pages of the policy booklets for both products. If I'm right this is a big advantage Metal has over Premium??
Hi Kai@@SmartMoneywithKai , Yes indeed I did and they have since replied. They have confirmed that the Premium card only covers card holder and children and that the Metal card covers card holder, partner or cohabitant and children. Quite an important difference to a lot people I would imagine? I actually emailed Chubb who are the insurance company providing the cover.
Hi there and welcome to the investing world😉 I would recommend all except for Revolut for investing. Lightyear is a great option if you are beginner, perfect interface and commission-free ETF's which might be best suited for you as a beginner. Later on you can add IBKR to the mix. I am using both. That would be great, they really should if they want to keep people on the plan since now Premium & Metal definitely offer more value for money. Cheers
Agreed, I guess depending on how WeWork might proceed from here. In general I love their locations and interiors but if they go down, then spaces might be a great alternative👌

Thanks a lot for the detailed comparison. I’m moving to Czech Republic for 3 to 5 years from Germany and I’m wondering if it’s possible to get an IBAN from Revolut as the only bank account and receiving salary or will I still need a regular Czech bank account and move money to Revolut manually?
Hi 👋 Glad you found the comparison helpful! Here’s what you need to know about using Revolut as your main bank account in the Czech Republic: Using Revolut: IBAN Availability: Revolut does provide IBANs, which you can use to receive your salary. They offer local IBANs for many countries, but you should check if they provide a local Czech IBAN or a Euro IBAN. But it looks like they do help.revolut.com/en-CZ/help/receiving-payments/transfers-info/international-iban/business/ Salary Payments: Many employers will accept an IBAN from Revolut for salary payments. However, it’s best to confirm with your new employer in the Czech Republic to ensure they can transfer your salary to a Revolut account. Considerations: Local Services: Having a local Czech bank account might still be beneficial for accessing local banking services, ATMs, and potentially lower fees for certain transactions. Manual Transfers: If your employer prefers a local Czech bank, you might need to open a Czech account and then transfer funds to Revolut manually. In summary, while you can potentially use Revolut as your primary account, it’s a good idea to have a local bank account as a backup to ensure smooth financial transactions in the Czech Republic. Cheers, Kai
Hi and yes, you can use your Wise card to send money to Africa. Here's how: Create an Account: Sign up for a Wise account if you don’t have one. Set Up the Transfer: Log in, select “Send Money,” and enter the amount and recipient details. Choose Payment Method: Pay using your Wise card. Confirm and Send: Review and confirm the transfer details. Cheers.
Revolut offers various account plans-Standard, Plus, Premium, Metal, and Ultra-each with distinct features. All plans provide personal account details, enabling you to receive your salary directly into your Revolut account. The choice of plan depends on your specific needs: Standard Plan: A free option that includes essential banking services. Plus, Premium, Metal, and Ultra Plans: These paid plans offer additional benefits such as higher interest rates on savings, enhanced customer support, and other perks. If your primary goal is to receive your salary, the Standard plan suffices. However, if you're interested in extra features like higher savings interest rates or premium services, exploring the paid plans might be beneficial. To set up salary deposits, provide your employer with your Revolut account details, which can be found in the app under 'Home' > 'Add money' > 'Regular Bank Transfer'. Cheers

If you need more features like higher withdrawal limits or travel insurance, check out the Premium or Metal plans. Personally I am on the Ultra plan and love it, but I also travel a lot and spend a bit more per month so it makes sense for me. Cheers

Usually once a month on average so technically it pays for itself, especially if I consider Revolut Pro cashback, but now with those new features and benefits for Premium & Metal I would really think twice to extend my Ultra card.
Hi and depends on your budget and needs, but I think Premium with unlimited monthly FX and many other perks could be a good start or if you spend a lot and travel a lot Ultra might be a better fit, which is what I am on and love it 👌
