I'm 70,in New Guinea 🇵🇬 I've seen locals catch prime fish using local leaves as lures, top is green, under side whitish! You can make from alfoil put red paint line on (nail varnish) ,it's great feeling getting quality fish 🐟 on one you made, cheers 🍻 from Australia ❤ 😊

I remember 20 years ago when kmart eastgardens had like 3 big aisles just dedicated to fishing. This was before bcf and anaconda. They had a mad range back then
True that Vas, there used to be so much more choice. Now you'd be lucky to get one aisle!
They use to carry a lot more of the big name brands as well
Yahhh I remember they use to sell shimano gear in kmart back in the days. My dad still has all the shimano bait runner reels he use to buy from there.
Mega stock & big brands....Mustard hooks, Rebal & Nilsmaster lures.
I remember shopping at Kmart Cairns in the 90s it was mind blowing the range of big brand lures they stocked l bought a Shimano baitcaster rods top ofvthe range at kmart in Sydney.

Funniest lure story; when living in Port Douglas, me and backpackers mates had bet who could make craziest lure and score, the winner 🏆 was a Lego man ,super glued and wired, 20lb barramundi!! WTF 😂 😅 😊

Kmart used to have a huge range of fishing gear with 3-4 aisles from the 70s -90s & all big brands too l got nearly all my gear there....Mustard hooks, Shimano rods, Nilsmaster lures it was the best.

13:00 I think that's because it doesn't fall right with a 16th ounce jighead and requires a bit more weight to fall nicely.
More weight usually helps, we got the job done in the end!

Hey shroom when you get a hit and loose the fish I recommend you leave your lure on the bottom for 5-10 seconds just so the fish can eat again and you can catch it hope this helps.
As an Aussie that’s not really around to many other cultures, this guy’s accent to me is crazy, it’s a cross between Aussie, Arab and Asian. It’s like he’s taken on a little bit of accent from all the different people he’s grown up with, it makes me laugh a bit.

I find myself wanting to listen to them talk as I almost don’t believe the sound coming out of them is theirs lol.

Try this challenge, a friend and I only took our rods, jig heads etc and made lures from whatever we found at the spot. Surprisingly we caught a few on assorted junk left behind. Love the challenge vids.
No strike tigers lol cheat get cheap jig head one packet then get one packet of bait junkie JIG heads but use there locks as weight snip barb off hook take lock off and weight of tow point end get a swivel run it up to eyelet on vertical no glue use liquid steel to lock it in place drys in five minutes. Now ya can use any small hook in nymphs or multi hook system or bass assist hooks liquid steel is good for 175kg use needle to pass Dacron to set hook in plastic tie off to swivel could also use a green or pink plastic bead just under eyelet for bling I re set lock with 2 part resin no super glue found 2 part resin is good for 200kg.

I bought all my fishing gear from Kmart and target. a generous couple gave me $80:00 to buy a rod and reel so I bought a Jarvis walker 8 foot Mundo rod a Ryobi reel still got it.
Seen monster bream caught 69 years ago at Woody Point on liquorice.

ther is nowhere near that amount of stock in our stores, and how neat and tidy was it, fishing heavy and with bait is the gear you can ever find and large poppers and things, anyway great vid mate keep up the fantastic job cheers .

KMart has pretty decent stuff for a cheap range, they used to stock a whole lot of unusable rubbish but these days they have improved

Anything that catches flathead has to be a goodun.
They take a lot of lures but if it's unusually strange they won't bite at all (or especially if you need one during a challenge haha)
