I own one and am extremely happy with it and I am an experienced rider. This is not a beginners bike-- this bike isn't a litre bike scream machine but it does derive obviously from the GSXR750 and is accordingly very quick. For a solid intermediate and up rider tho this is the perfect all around street bike--- maintenance is low, handles amazing, super smooth engine I mean just cruises at 85 no vibration on the highway and accelerates beautifully w/great sound, super good brakes, nice clutch pull.
There's your underpowered R7 right.... then you're insane overpowered modern hypernaked and litre bikes--- this one's just right + it gets compliments everywhere because it looks cool.
I'd also say GSXS1000 is a good buy if you must have more power, but as an experienced rider that rides quite spirited in the CA twisty roads I can tell you that you won't need much more power than the 750 to have fun. Only place you'd use the 1000 extra power is on hard highway pulls and the track and most of you likely don't even have the skill to really maximize it. But, the 1000 is a good bike too.

Definitely need a liter bike as my second bike. My sfv650 sucks on highway pulls. It’s great in and around town however once on the highway it’s a dog trying to pass people since everyone is going 85-95mph.

I wish they made a KATANA version of this... With a pop-up headlight! Speaking of popping... That exhaust sounds awesome. Thinking about the cheaper Alpha T for my own AL9. I was surprised at how much smoother the engine and gearbox is than my old CB650FAH... No vibes and slicker shifting. Still running mine in though. Great bike for the price... Got mine for £6500 with zero miles, ex demo (but I got in before it was demoed). Good review mate 👍

Great review. I'm getting a Yamaha xj6 sp on Saturday. It's my first bike in 25 years so I am really pleased. I was hoping to have got a 2017 Suzuki gsxs 750 as that's really the bike I'm looking for but my insurance company won't allow it... So keeping the Yamaha for 2 years experience and then getting the gsxs. .... Safe riding.....beautiful bike ☺

Yeah I think you and me are the only people to ever say I wish they had a GSXS 1000 F. But it would be perfect for anybody that only wanted to go on day trips, it could keep the wind off of you and you don't need all that high end power if you're not going that far. I had the GSXS 1000 and really love that bike but I have the 2016 with the snatching throttle. No Biggs I live on the most popular road in the eastern United States for motorcyclist and did very well. I am noticing that the 750 handles much better or flicks much better, and I live in the twisty mountains at the tail of the Dragon. And I'm thinking about getting the 2021GSXS 750 ABS. The white and black with a yellow belly pan, or at least that's the color scheme in America this year.

There's another thing I've seen people knock on the bike and the 1000 and it being the revamped K5 gixxer engines--- guys what do you think lasts longer--- a newer, stressed parallel twin putting out similar power or a proven bullet proof 4 cyl that's now understressed? lol
There's gixxer 750s from the 00s still around with 75k miles on em and that's with the engine being full power. On the GSXS that engine will last 100k and it's smoother than those snatchy twins and 3 cyl. I again like the idea that regular street riders and non professionals can maximize the diff in performance in various 115 hp engines lol.

Very successful sales according to Robspeed. But the 1000F is also one of their best sellers too, and it looks like Suzuki have shelved it.
But I really rate the 750. It has - as you say - perfect real world power, is relatively easy to ride (although I would not recommend it as a beginner's bike) and plenty of fun. Plus - in my opinion - it's one if the best looking nakeds out there.

Thanks for review. Just picked one up. A brand new 2019 $6999 US. Same phantom scheme. Love it, but I feel it needs a screen. At 75mph I’m getting a bit pushed around. Once my funds recover I plan on same pipe and fender eliminator. I bought riding gear first. Love the intake noise it makes when getting on it. My last bike was a 2001 R6. Now older and much fatter I prefer the naked bike. To me it feels much easier to ride than the R6. I might get a taller wider bar in the future. Cheers

That's your personal choice. Lower gears give you greater flexibility to brake and accelerate and to hear the fantastic engine note. On a 30 mile blast, fuel economy is not an issue and these bikes are built to be revved and worked. If I wanted a sedate pootle in 6th getting 120mpg I would buy a Honda NC750.

Suzuki builds some of the best transmissions in motorcycling. Best to use the tach more and engine braking less. As opposed to riding in 2nd gear at 6000 rpm the bike could be in 3rd or 4th and a downshift or two would get it into the powerband. At high rpm shift to the next gear and then begin braking instead of just closing the throttle. A lot easier on your motor and transmission and smoother too. Nice choice of bikes. Suzuki 750 is a legend.

I currently have a 2017 CB650F. Could you tell me what are the main differences, in your opinion, between the GSX-S750 and the CB650F regarding power delivery, balance, ergonomics, fuel range, passenger comfort and other things that comes to your mind?

    • @DaddyBiker_Reviews
      @DaddyBiker_Reviews  3 года назад +1

Never carried a pillion on either. None of these type of bikes are particularly suitable for passengers in my opinion. So I cannot help on that one.
Power delivery - aside of there being a LOT more than the Honda (and it feels like there is even more than that), it is not as linear as the CB. Hondas are very easy, gentle, forgiving machines... hence the reason they are often branded boring. The Suzuki will roll on nicely in 5th and 6th but the real punch is mid range at around 6-7000 rpm and it's addictive to leave it in 3rd gear all the time.
Ergonomics - everything feels more robust on the Suzuki and I personally (5'11, 31" inside leg, 13 stone) found it more comfortable. It's heavier than the Honda, and I prefer a bit of weight as feels less flimsy on the road.
Mirrors... well, I put bar-end ones on and it improved things no end. But standard ones were ok... not as diabolically rubbish as the old CB1000.
Screen... I needed one on my CB650. However, the Suzuki is better designed at the front end and anything up to around 85mph is fine. Again this may be height related.
Balance - as I say weight makes a difference, but this bike was the best bike I've ever owned to that point. I felt so much better on it than on any of the Hondas I had owned previously (5 of them). Could plant both feet firmly on the ground too.
Fuel range - 200 miles... 180 if giving it the beans a lot. Probably roughly the same as the Honda.
All round it feels better, accelerates better, less vibration (there will always be some in any motorbike) and rides better... in my opinion. Test ride one...but not round the block. You need at least a couple of hours on all sorts of roads.

thatstheguy07 Hi, I was in your exact situation a few years ago. My first bike was also a CBR300 and it was great. I put about 700 miles on it and then upgraded to this bike. This bike is definitely more powerful but no so much in a scary way. I definitely noticed getting up to 25-30 mph quicker than the honda but other than that the bike is pretty tame for normal riding.
You will definitely notice the power on the highway as you can roll on the throttle and easily pass cars when needed. The power on this bike is in the mid to top end so you won’t feel anything insane until you get past 7000rpm and then it pulls.
One thing you will definitely notice is the increased weight when not moving. This bike is about 100 pounds heavier so keep that in mind, however when moving, in my opinion, it feels just as nimble as the CBR300. I would definitely recommend testing one or sitting on if you can. It’s an awesome bike and I love mine. It is definitely a step up from your honda, this is a powerful bike but you do have to work for it a little when riding and also you have to respect the power as well. If you keep those things in mind I definitely recommend this bike
