    "If you're an idiot, there is no good first bike" - I loved that! It's so true! I recently picked up a GSXS750 with ~ 20k km on the second hand market for a decent price and I love it so far. Having ridden all the usual suspects in the naked middle range category this little Suzuki is a very pleasant surprise to be honest. It isn't as eager to get it's front wheel up like the mt 09 but after 6k it has some serious grunt. Also the suspension setup is miles ahead of any Yamaha in it's price range.

    • @ScottRidez
      @ScottRidez  3 года назад +3

      Yes it is great you can adjust the front and rear preload. I have been tweaking those settings

      It's a dead on quote. I started at 17y/o on a 2000 ZX-9R and it was a cake walk, all I did was respect how much that thing could mess me up and go easy on the throttle.

    I trade my MT07 for one gsx-s 750 and it was the best thing i ever did! Im in love with the bike... super pleasure to ride it. you can be smooth and agressive and the bike dont try to put you on the ground like the MT! The suspension, frame, brakes and the abs system are MUCH BETTER!!!

    Bought my 2019 GSX S750 roughly 3-4 months ago and I absolutely love this bike. Insurance is incredibly affordable. Right now I am paying $7 month and I am 22 years. How I am not sure how but I love it. My wife and I ride as often as we can in it and we love it

    Suzuki pulled this model for 2024, but I am hoping for a 2025 refresh with an L series engine (like the one in my 2011 GSX-R750), TFT screen, new S1000 styling, L series frame with its adjustable foot pegs, all LED lighting, electronic throttle control (with its ride modes), and adjustable Showa suspension. The 2024 GSX-S1000 is nice, but it’s a bit too much of everything and currently lacks a TFT screen.

    I am planning to get my first bike sooner or later and I was originally planning to get Ninja 400, but after seeing this motorcycle at their website I just shift immediately. Also the way you describe the seating position seems comfortable, so thank you for the great review sir!

    • @jaybosher6144

      The 400 would do you better. The satisfaction you get from going full throttle is great and you can do that a lot more on the 400. Its basically the miata of bikes. Plus very cheap insurance. Ride it for a year and then trade up. You will be a better rider for it with more money to enjoy your ride.

    This must be one of the most underrated bikes of all time. It's bloody fantastic! Nimble, swift and just agreeable. The MT-09 just tried to kill me all the time. It just wanted to wheelie or throw me off. On the GSX-S you can choose. Ride soft, smooth and controlled. Or drop a couple and it will be a missile. Your choice. The MT just felt like a ticking timebomb. :) Good video btw.

      Perfect description of the mt09, on my 750 i can go full throttle at any gear and the bike will stay planted no matter what ( the tuner mechanic told me that the first 3 gears are slightly limited in power delivery at certain rpms so with a little tweak even the gsx can be unpredictable)

      @ScottRidez  3 года назад

      I was nervous when I first got it. The tank felt so large, but after a few rides, I was very comfortable. It's the very slow turns you should practice. As long as you can easily flat foot the bike, then you will be fine. Just keep practicing slow maneuvers in a parking lot. Good Luck. Let me know how it goes.

      @@ScottRidez I barely got the bike yesterday and the first ride was very terrifying and the second ride was pretty smooth and went well in my opinion. From those first two rides I don't see it as being a bike that's very difficult to handle and given the type of person that I am I think I would be fine :) I definitely want to get to a parking lot to practice emergency stops and accelerating after a stop because I stalled the bike a couple times

The power is strong but not too intimidating and I feel it’s so chuckable into bends . In short I love it!! Good video. Agree with the points particularly about going with Suzuki due to the good experience with your previous one. I did the same thing partially for the same reason and partially nothing else has the same bang for the buck.
    Had a GSX-R 750 30 years ago. Awesome bike. Such a great engine. Never a lick of trouble. So I went with what I knew as well. A Suzuki GSX-S 750 with that great GSX-R 750 engine in it. So smooth, so fast, so reliable, at a great price. 2020 brand new just over $8,000 out the door. And that was when it was the current model. Love the bike. Looks good, sounds good, performs good.
    Only thing I don’t like is the wind buffeting at highway speeds. My old GSX-R was better for that. Awesome bike. Awesome value.

    Good Review, I am getting back on a bike after 41 years( I had a CB250 ), I went through the same process as you did, I had Sv650 as my first choice then I found a really good deal on GSX and I thought I would keep this bike longer than the SV650 because of the power and the size. I am getting mine end of April 2021, I am excited and nervous because I have to ride the brand new bike 600km back home from the dealership that I purchased from. The deal was so good that I took my chance and I think it will be good experience riding it for 600Km, I probably do that in two days, just take it easy and do the break in engine.

My first bike, so far no falls, I found it very heavy at first but now that I drive on Highways, I appreciate the extra weight, this bike makes a fantastic Sport Touring bike, just by adding A few mods, I have videos posted, for me tall windshield, handlebar bar risers ( I am 5:11)and comfortable seat made this bike a keeper for now. Also now I ride in higher Rpm (6K and up) , it is more fun. I don’t like the buzz at 5k and up but now I am above 6K rpm, I got used to it.

    Question. Does the Gsx-s have engine vibration as the revs climbed? I have a new 2023 and the higher the revs the more vibration that comes through the bars, the seat, the foot pegs and the gas tank. Is this normal? My mirrors are blurry at any rpm above about 4-5k too.

    this compared to the cb650r?

    • @ScottRidez
      @ScottRidez  2 года назад +1

      No I have not ridden the cb650r, so I can't compare. Although the cb650 is 100cc less than the gsxs. and about 25 less horsepower.

      I remember buying an rx7 convertible years ago, then I find out my insurance on a Corvette was cheaper from my insurance agent. Next time I check insurance first, the same issue happened when I bought a boat high insurance.

    Thinking about a 2022, could not find info on the fuel octane requirement. Does it take regular 87 or premium 91 gas?

    I just bought my NEW right off The showroom floor 2020 GSX-S750. Damn thing is a nuetered bike.. no power for a 750. It struggles to get 97mph in 4th giving major throttle.

      I don't mind that actually, it seems more fun to ride it hard in the canyons, I have a 600 that screams but I almost never get the space to use it, it's fun every once in a while but I get bored very quickly, I can't even stand to be on the highway that long I prefer back roads all day. That being said look into an ecu flash because yes from the factory it is pretty neutered .

    • @ScottRidez
      @ScottRidez  3 года назад +1

      I agree with c0dy1287. It is not a drag bike. Going in a straight line at 100mph is boring. Twisty country roads are for me. And yes get the ECU flashed.

    Progressive- have you ever been in an accident or had any speeding tickets?.... nope, flawless victory.
    Ok then yearly full coverage on your 2021 R1 is $2,200..... REALLYYYYYY!
