    Hi everyone, thanks for your support on this video!
    Just a note: unless you know what you're doing and have some experience with bootloaders, it's probably not a good idea to mess around with this on any PC that you can't afford to brick! Making a mistake can make the system unbootable and while there are ways around this, it can be time consuming and frustrating. Try it out in a VM or non-critical machine first:)

    This isn't something you should play around with if you don't know what you are doing, this guy explains it like it's totally safe and easy to do, which isn't true, if you can't restore any bootloader manually this is not for you to experiment with, don't touch it.

      Just have two bootloaders while you are setting it up, you can always boot into another bootloader with bios boot choice.

      Wow you're ooold ! jk, I remember it too. Actually I was infatuated with XOSL when it first came out. I still see resemblances of it here and there, including in rEFInd.

    I am trying to set up a triple boot system. It is a laptop with three physical SSDs: one for each OS. SSD #1 has debian linux, SSD #2 has Windows 11, and SSD #3 (installed in the CD bay) has Manjaro linux.
    Refind did not detect my Windows installation. Further, my boot menu shows no entry for the refind utility. It shows three large icons (debian, debian, manjaro) and four smaller icons on the second row (info, manage hidden, shut down, reboot).
    I did choose the option to show refind as you illlustrated. I used *nala* instead of apt to install the refind package. I'll rewatch the video and do more research. I just wanted to report my out-of-box experience. Thanks.

      Configuring the boot manager can be tricky. You could try uninstalling rEFInd using the linux script and then trying again, or you could try installing it through Windows using the instructions on the website (in the video description). Unfortunately, each case is unique so I'm sorry I couldn't help more:)

    Man dude straight up I cannot get a theme to work for the life of me. I have followed every instruction exactly. When I escalate privileges, I still see no icons in the folders. What is going on?
    Edit: Never mind. The file name had -master in it and the compatibility was broken. Make sure that the config file and the file/folder name match EXACTLY.

    Brother, can you help me with an issue? How can I increase the dualboot OS selection time? It literally waits for 10 seconds and boots into the first OS selected, so how can I increase that time?

    • @bytesized12
      @bytesized12  10 месяцев назад

      This is really easy to change. Using your linux installation, go to the file system /boot/efi/EFI/refind (or something like that). In there there's a file called refind.conf. Inside that there's a setting you can change that sets the boot time, hope this helps:)
