I would like to correct the interviewer in the beginning of the interview session in which she "everyone like to compare between China and India". I take it the "everyone" means the indian? India and China focus on different aspects of the society in their development because they have different developmental goals. China wanted to build "a moderately prosperous society for all her citizens " (共同富裕的小康社會）. This goal was set 45 years ago when China's economic reform first started, and it seems that they have not diverted much from the goal. India's goal is to become a superpower, and the entire Indian population seems to support it. So lifting people out of poverty is more important to the Chinese than to India if it costs too much money and adds too little to the GDP.

In 2001 I was read so many article that China was literally begger Country and had a pity for them. But suddenly it got changed after 2015. Now it is competing US. Then started to watch and read lots of article how China did the achievement. One of main point of their booming economy is government investment in education and R&D. Indian is for behind in that areas. Apart from space Indian government is not willing to invest any kind of R&D sector which is whitel for growth.

I predict in next 30 years, India will still be an impoverished country and will find it difficult to achieve developed status least to be a superpower. Cut down on defence budget and help the ordinary Indians who are struggling to make ends meet. Resolve your huge internal domestic problems first - rampant corruption, racial religious violent, primitive caste system, infrastructure deficiency, income disparity, abject poverty, etc. Manoj, without the above problems being solved, India will never expect foreign companies or foreign educational institutions invested heavily in India for the unforeseeable future.
India should emulate and help lift its citizens out of poverty, improve the infrastructures, housing, etc...rather than waste time over border rocks,......... You should be an advisor to Modi.
India cannot escape its colonial past. It tries too hard to copy and therefore to become acceptable to the West. But the UK being the ex-colonial master has fallen in hard times. The observations Manoj reports are very relevant. He fails to report that it was Nixon on the advice of Kissinger opened up US to China and China welcomed Foreign investment. In doing so it became a manufacturing hub. It is interesting that Manoj, who said he did not do a good job managing his father’s business gives economic advice. For instance why should the PLI policy be selectively applied? Why not allow it across the board to all companies. China is following State Capitalism which is not an option for Bharat. Bharat has to facilitate private enterprise, small, medium and large. Unfortunately Bharat is so behind in capital intensive high value precision manufacturing that it will take many years to catch up, if at all.
That stimulus went into High-speed Railway, highways, infra. None of that goes to real estate, because people pay for those real estate. The guest got it completely wrong.

India's economy has been in deficit for the last 30 over years, address this first because without surplus economy, India will forever be a poor country. To overcome this issue, India needs to be foreign investment friendly and needs a massive land reform.

India and China focus on different aspects of the society in their development because they have different developmental goals. China wanted to build "a moderately prosperous society for all her citizens " (共同富裕的小康社會）. This goal was set 45 years ago when China's economic reform first started, and it seems that they have not diverted much from the goal. India's goal is to become a superpower, and the entire Indian population seems to support it. So lifting people out of poverty is more important to the Chinese than to India if it costs too much money and adds too little to the GDP.
Your thinking seem to be the exception rather than the rule. Most educated 'Indians' reports on the bad but ignore the positives of what China had done since the economic reform.

1) China's economic boom shows that there is absolutely no relation between the economy and governance system. In addition to this China's boom originates a new chapter in debate..." do we really need democratic system to achieve economic growth?"...can underdeveloped countries accept China's mix governance system to eliminate poverty ( globalisation in business and patrial communism in governance)?
2) The democratic society miserably failed in their economic goals by creating the largest mess in terms of worsening gap between rich and poor , over centralisation of wealth into the hands of few opportunistic power people.
3) One of the biggest mistakes is to validate china using the spectacle of western countries.
4) It would be stupid idea to conclude that the chinese economy is slowing down and FDI flow erodes massively...this is wrong...the data from the Europe union business trade shows that china is still a girlfriend of Europe and its first choice for FDI investment.....only chinese investment into Europe shrink down in 2024..
5) china is restructuring and reorganizing their focus area from shaddy manufacturing to advanced techno innovation like semiconductor, LI-ON batteries, 5G network equipment, solar green technology, space missions, satellite imagery, defense experts etc etc....the slow down is due to this paradigm shift...

I have been living in china for almost 2 decades, and seen differences between indian and chinese working class condition. When i go around indian cities see workers aroun, seems like they dont even have basic facilities accept white colored job and yet socalled chinese experts from india are saying china has no workers rights. The main reason why China's development is far ahead of India lies in the considerable gap in political wisdom between the leaders of the two countries. Two simple examples can show this:
