Great Interview! You could agree with him on most aspect but not the Byju. After personally seeing Byju's sales team engage is blatant lies, creating FOMO to sell their products and then going cold-turkey, Byju is just blatant unscrupulous business. Entrepreneurs don't talk about it much because most of them are invested in the eco-system. But, this has greatly impacted the reputation of the Indian Edtech startups. For the sake of justice, Byju should get what they deserve. Lets not associate it with other genuine fast growing Indian startups.

Every country in Asia was poor in 1950. Nehru built institutions. Infosy benefited because of arbitrage. They were cyber clerk for USA multinational.

Nothing on ground.
Only 1 percent of the people have amassed wealth. The Ambani's, Adanis , Mahendras, and Murthys have become billionaires.
The majority of the population is still middle class. If there is so much growth then why only 6 percent of the population pays income tax. He keeps praising a particular politician, so we all know what his intentions are. Another political puppet mouthing what the political masters want people to say
I always love to listening to Mr Mohandas Pai for his excellent narration with micro level data on any subject. Great nationalist and he is one of the true founding fathers of IT revolution along with Mr Narayanamurthy, Mr Chandrashekar, Mr Kholi, Mr Ramadurai of TCS and Mr Harish Mehta, first president of NASSCOM and many others. May GOD bless Mr Pai for long life and continue his contribution to India 🎉

Mr Pai is highly gifted person; his focus is on economic, monetary and technological development of India. I appreciate all that. But what I miss in this great person is balanced views, holistic approach to the given reality of India today and giving up reactionary approach and adopt an integrated approach with a human touch to Indian pluralistic reality.

3. Health - nutrition (stunting)

I had the misfortune of working in Infosys when he was the HR head, absolutely lacked Humanness in Human Resources. Funny to hear him talk about positive influence.
In this podcast , he seems boari with figures. And like any intellectual person fast speaking data data and data. We are not becoming wishwa guru in digital but we are becoming wishwa cooli. Banglore is on shambles , with overflowing gutters and foams in lakes. Used the ready infrastructure and destroyed completely.

Even today the outskirts of Bangalore is the same as Nehrunagar of your time. I lived in Hostel at KR Circle then Vyayalikaval, BTM, J.P. Nagar and now in a quiet area away bustling Bangalore, yet at a walkable distance to Metro. You can't expect both the growth & calmness together.
