Kolkata gave me a wonderful education. It had a back up. You could clear your doubts with your seniors in your pada who patiently explained the things to you. Being a bengali and a resident of Kolkata, I can certainly say that Kolkata has been suffering due to excessive corruption, party domination, lack of public participation, political unwillingness and criminal - politician nexus. Here unfortunately entitlement prevails over empowerment. Reverse economic cycle is going on in Kolkata. Until we change the government in West Bengal, nothing for sure will change.

I recall when I was a young boy in Kolkata (then Calcutta) in the mid 60's, I was introduced by some working colleagues to some of the concepts of C. Rajagopalachari of the then Swatantra Party. One of C Rajagopalachari's views was the stupidity of the Licence Quota Permit Raj. Looking back today I can see how very correct he was. Nehru was undoubtedly a patriot of India but a very poor judge of what was good for the country. Had Rajagopalchari's views been adopted in the 60s, India would be very close to what China is today if not supersede it in its economic power.

@@TheNeonShoww Definitely. Just discovered ur channel. Came for Sanjeev. Loved the conversation. Definitely Subscribing. People like u my friend are the cogs in a larger scheme of instilling the greatness of Bharat in our younger generation. Like Sanjeev said in this conversation, our minds have been ruled for far too long by the intellectuals that profess their true allegiance to outside powers. I clearly remember my history lessions in school. The chapters were more about the Mughals. There were only fleeting references to the marathas, the cholas and the mauryas. Never was i taught about the Ahom dynasty. Not even a fleeting reference to one of the greatest empires of pre India. Never was i taught about Bharath's influence in the greater south asian region. Never was i taught about the greatness of Hinduism. Never was i taught about the grand temples of the south. So many of our greatest contributions to mankind was simply hidden from inquisitive minds. Our history was mostly about the mughals. Thanks to social media we are unlearning our history and getting to know the truth. Thank you for being a part of this revival. I have no doubt we are on our way to reclaiming our true worth among the committee of nations. You, me and the 1.4 billion bharatiyaas are truly blessed.

One of the best interviews I have watched. Mr.Sanyal's explanation is so lucid and forthright that anyone can understand the intricacies in the status of Indian economy vis-a-vis world economy.
As regards Kolkatta, he has hit the nail on its head. So sad to see a city having been systematically ruined by decades of communist rule and now being continued by TMC rule.
