Robot Braava Jet M6 Error unable to detect a wet pad fix! “Add a pad” fix

- We found in some braavas, the light emitting underneath to detect a type of pad are diminished (even new braavas - the sensor may be defective). What happens is that the braava can’t detect a pad even though a pad is clearly there! What we discovered is that the blue backing of the wet pads make it difficult for the braava to detect it or “see” it there (like us not being able to see in the dark). It kept asking to “add a pad”. When we tried a dry pad (has a white backing), the braava had no problem detecting it! So the solution here is to add two white strips on the wet mop pad (around the slots of the pad) and then the braava is once again able to detect the pad! We concluded here that the braava needed “glasses” as it was near sighted and needed help to see the pad! Happy cleaning!

This is so dumb I almost didn’t believe it. Thank you so much
It’s almost unbelievable but it works! Glad you found our video and found it works for you! Hope you consider subscribing to our channel! Happy cleaning!
I don't have tapes. So I just glued a pair of paper strips on both sides, and it works now! The customer service hasn't responded to my ticket, but I can use the robot now. You're a lifesaver!
That’s great! Yes it should continue to work with this small trick! Just have to reapply these white strips each time you wash the braava pads, but this is a small price to pay to have the Braava work again! Happy cleaning!
I was skeptical at first but this is the fix that works, thank you.
That’s great to hear! We are glad it’s worked for you too! Thanks for letting us know!
Thank you! Worked perfectly on the washable pad that came with machine which I’ve been struggling with. Used it many times since purchased then after 6 months it stopped connecting. I even bought washable ones on Amazon that I couldn’t get to work. And figured they weren’t authentic and that’s why wouldn’t work. So bought expensive ones from iRobot. Now I think this will work for my Amazon ones since it worked with the pad that came with my machine. This machine is so frustrating to say the least!
@@Bekind6980 glad it helped!
Thanks for making this video, this fixed my braava!
@@mindscapetv1000 you are very welcome! Hope you consider subscribing to our channel! Happy cleaning!
I've been putting off fixing this for a month or so now. Your video helped me fix it inside 5 minutes and now I'm kicking myself for not trying earlier. Thanks!
That’s excellent! We are very glad this fix worked for you too! Don’t forget to subscribe as we will share more videos. Happy cleaning !
Bruh this WORKED!!! Thank you very much for sharing
You are most welcome! Happy cleaning!
This actually works 🤦🏼♂️ I used white plumbers tape and it worked
That’s excellent! We are so glad this helped someone else! Happy cleaning!
We are glad that this has helped you too! As for cleaning, if your braava isn’t still under warranty (assuming not, because otherwise you would get your braava replaced), you can use something like Mr clean (1 tsp for a whole tank). Don’t use anything that is antibacterial. Be careful with the cleaner that you do use as it can cause clogging of the spray nozzle and be slippery for the wheels.
I can't believe this worked!! thank you from preventing me throwing it against the wall in frustration
That’s excellent! We are glad to hear this helped you too! Happy cleaning!
This worked! Thank you so much for saving my frustration!!
You are very welcome! We are glad it worked for you too! We feel strongly about the right to repair so we are glad this helped you save your braava. Happy cleaning once again! We hope you subscribe to help our channel!

Just did, thanks again!
@@rong8714 thanks for your support!
Thank you so much for making this video. I didn't have white tape, so I tried masking tape, and it worked! Any suggestions on Bona cleaning liquid alternatives?
It worked! This is real bad experience for customers and bad technology for roomba. Thanks for the tip and the fix
You're welcome! Glad it worked for you! Happy cleaning!
You are most welcome! Glad it worked for you too! Happy cleaning!
I used blank white mailing labels. THANK YOU for this fix.
That’s excellent! That’s exactly what we used! Can be anything white and adhesive!
Thank you for this hack. I was about to trash this Braava!
You are very welcome! We are glad this “hack” helped you too! Don’t forget to subscribe to support our channel! Happy cleaning!
Thank you! That fixed the problem for me.
You are very welcome! We are so happy to hear we were able to help someone else! Happy cleaning!
This actually fucking worked. Unbelievable. I have the exact same model. These things are such pieces of shit. I wasted so much money on new pads for this trick to fix the error. Come on man
We are sorry to hear that you had to spend more money on new pads. This trick should work on pads that are well used too. Hopefully you can again enjoy having your floors mopped! Take care!
100% accurate. Thank you!
Chalk marker also works.
That’s excellent! Yes I suppose anything white works! Glad it worked out for you too! We are working on more videos - they take a while to put together!
Worked right away with a white sharpie. Thank you so much!
That’s excellent to hear! We hope to add more videos going forward so hopefully you will consider following us! Happy cleaning! ❤
Why is this? I just cut out the bottom part to look the same as the dry one. Took a small piece of the blue part and added it in with tape to secure to the rectangle that was there and longer than the dry mop and it worked.
It’s because the sensor at the bottom of the braava is a bit dim which causes it to not detect the wet pad (it’s too dark to see it). The additional contrast is needed (it’s near sighted) so this is why it needs “glasses” !
Genius. Sheer Genius. Put some 'White Out" on either side and boom. Can't thank you enough as I would NEVER had come up with this fix. NEVER! And the company? Useless. See below.
We are extremely happy that this has helped you! There are different ways to put the white marks there around the pad but they all seem to work! Happy cleaning!
Wow this actually worked
That’s excellent! We are glad it’s worked for you too!
This is awesome! Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure! Thank you for leaving your comment!
Thanks it works great. I called i robot help and asked them to repair my robot and showed them your video. I asked them why this happens and they told me it is a defective sensor and it can not be repaired, and I should buy a new robot. Lets see, pay over three hundred dollars or put on two pieces of white electrical tape. Can you guess what I did?
That’s excellent! Yes we find there are iRobots that are unnecessarily discarded because they have become not usable and often there is an easy solution! Glad this worked for you too! Happy cleaning!
This worked for me as well! Although frustrated as ours is brand new and iRobot said it’s a “faulty” sensor, this is looking like more a poor design…
Getting a replacement one soon - will see if it fixes the issue!
Glad this is working for you too! Sometimes brand new braavas will have a defective sensor and it’s good that you got this replaced under warranty! Regardless, it’s a great long term solution to get the braava working again!
why is water dripping from my braava jet® m6? water runs under the Brava when I lift it up on the back side it drips where the battery is WHY?THANK YOU.
Check your water tank - likely the seal of the cap isn’t working well. Take tank out, fill completely, and rest the tank on table or floor and see if any water is leaking from the cap area. The braava has a safely mechanism that if there is excessive water inside, it has a channel to drains out which is what you are seeing.
@@CoastalBluffRoomba Thank you very much, I found your message. you are very good, continue your videos, they are very interesting and you give a solution
Yes! It works! 💪 Thanks!
Glad it worked for you too! We hope to add more videos - just added one for a roomba if you are interested! Thanks!
Did it mop floor with spray or does it just dry mop
@@italoman it sprayed! Worked perfectly fine
@@italoman this corrects the problem with the wet pad. Once the braava detects a wet pad with this fix, it does spray water as it should.
Thanks everyone...it looks like mine isn't detecting any color. Going to try a factory reset if it doesn't resolve
thank you! +1 sub +1 like
