iROBOT Braava Jet M6 Spray Nozzle Cleaning or Replacement Made Easy
HTML-код

- Recently the boss has complained that the Braava Jet no longer sprays as it mops. Which is no surprise given the size of the passages its only a matter of time before hard water or dirt can cause a blockage. Every owner will be dealing with this issue sooner or later, so its a good idea to know how to fix it. I stress before breaking into the device to remove the sprayer or some cringe-worthy idea of jamming toothpicks into the sprayer in a futile attempt to repair it, that the filter below the fluid canister be removed and inspected. This membrane filter is a likely culprit and mineral deposits will render it useless. Only After this filter is inspected and determined not to be an issue should one proceed with the opening of the unit.

Best Professional Maintenance Review on the Maintenance of the Brava M6 on RUclips. Thanks for sharing. I just ordered my iRobot J7+. It will replace my 980 on the 2nd floor and the 3rd floor will get the 980. After that the M6 will join the J7+ to mop the 2nd story. 😊 Excellent Review. Roombas will last for years if Maintenance is performed on a regular schedule just like American made cars like Ford trucks. I took my 40 year old truck to Mexico in 1990 and they are still using it on the ranch ! 😮 😅 😊
Probably the best video I've seen on how to take something apart. Fixed my issue, thank you!
You're welcome!
I used this video as a Part 1, and it was so helpful! Part 2 was necessary as the clear in the tube inside the pump was the problem. But, after fixing the issue, I came back to this video to replace all the parts. Thank you!!
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much. Your camera work was excellent. I managed to take my Braava Jet apart and put it back together without any leftover parts! The bonus was it worked and fixed the spray problem.
Excellent!
That was a great job for the mop not having a map yet, not wiping up clumps of ketchup before running the mop, and not manually wetting down the pad before turning on the mop. Very impressive raw performance.
Excellent instructions. Very clear and comprehensive. Bought a used braava and the jet wasn't working very well. Followed the instructions and completely made it seem like it was brand new. Thank you so much.
Glad it helped
What a clear, well explained video. Fixed my problem. A real public service - thanks so much!
Glad to help
Great instructions and camera work. Excellent video. You made this very approachable and understandable. Don’t listen to complainers. I’ve had mine apart and if someone follows you precisely this will be a straightforward job.
Glad you found it helpful.
Thank you so much! Such a helpful video, my husband followed every step and now our machine is working perfectly!
Glad it helped!
Expert, clear guidance that I feel I can do as long as I pause each of the steps. I think you should have included how to open the pump and take out any kink in the tube that sits around the spinning gear. I saw this on another video. ….that said, you were the best one🥰
I would have had I been aware that was an issue.
Didn't dream it was so easy. Thanks. I hear it runing right now
Nice!
Omg. Thankyou. It was the 1st filter for me. I now add vinegar to my tank for cleaning too😊
Excellent video demoing the problem, the fix and the result! Bravo!
Glad it helped!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! This was exactly the problem. Works like a charm after soaking the nozzle in vinegar. TIP: You might want to just try cleaning the nozzle with a toothbrush and vinegar first, before taking the whole thing apart. It's easy to disassemble, but you might save yourself the step.
Thanks for the info!
Did it work? Or did you have to open the whole thing?
Thank you for this video. Fixed my Braava Jet and it's back working like a champ.
Glad it helped
Thank You so much for the detailed instruction. Loved the camera work and the video quality!
You're very welcome!
I think its safe to say, that you should occasionally run straight distilled white vinegar through the whole system. Spot clean then Pause and let the vinegar sit for a few minutes, spot clean again and wait a few more minutes. Rinse the bottle put and run distilled water through to clear the vinegar and call it a day. Ma6be once a month or 2?
Smart preventative Maintenance! ❤
Thanks so much for these instructions! ❤ Turns out the nozzle was beyond saving but this video perfectly helped me install the replacement I got from A-zon for 10€.
Glad it helped!
Thank you so much for posting this video. Followed it step by step and my Braava is working as good as new. You have saved me a lot of money and time. God Bless
You're welcome!
Very helpful, thank you!
Edit: to get the vinegar into the nozzle you can submerge it and suck on the hose until the vinegar appears.
Thanks! Worked like a charm. I just had to help nozzle a little with an air compressor to really clear it. Vinegar definitely helped, but nozzle wasn't really spraying until that.
Glad to hear!
Great tutorial! Followed all the steps and was able to fix my robot! Thank you so much!
You’re welcome!
Wow,!! "Mona" was dismal, no water works. We used vinegar / tad of dish soap in our jewelry cleaner. Put all screws in to be cleaned as well. Mona is working like a charm. Brilliant!
glad to hear it!
Thank you for the great video! I don’t think I soaked it long enough because it sprayed a few times but then back to nothing 😢I was very happy to see it spray though so will try again tomorrow and soak for an hour or so
Sound like you need to relook that that filter.
Awesome video...thank you for making it, I replaced the nozzle but If I had seen this video first I would have tried to clean it.
Glad it helped
Wonderful video ... well-described step by step. Thank you for doing this. Cheers, John
You're very welcome!
Big thanks easy fix . Block filter. Clean then ran clr and hot water . All working thanks again
Glad it helped
This is an excellent video, highly helpful and right to the point. I was not sure if I could do it, but it was done beautifully. Thanks
Glad it helped!
The procedure worked to unclog my Bravajet. Thanks 🙏
You're welcome!
Very good and clear instructions and will definitely take care of mine! Thanks so much!
You are welcome!
I used my waterpik shoot water into the nozzle head and it's spraying at full force. This video is great in case I need to really flush out the debris, My issue may return until I do this. Thank you!
Thank you, I was able to change my clogged nozzle without any problems or difficulties.
You're welcome.
Fantastic video, very helpful! I have one question, I followed all the steps and the hose, the nozzle, and the filter are perfectly clean. I put it back together and although I hear the pump run, no liquid sprays out. Is it possible to have a build up in the pump, not allowing the liquid to flow through? Thanks
Hello. Question: Thanks so much for the video by the way. Mine is the black one so not sure newer or older but I have this clear white device that the tubes go through before getting to the sprayer. I’m wondering what this is and if it’s something they either got to help with the solutions or to make it stop working. I cleaned mine and now I’m having issues. Thoughts?
After a couple of years of service, my m6 stopped spraying after mold formed in the plumbing. The tank filter was not clogged because the mold formed inside the mop on the other side of the filter. The cure was to remove the nozzle, flush the plumbing by operating the mop without the nozzle for a while, and replacing the nozzle with a new one. The original nozzle could not be fixed.
I think the issue was caused by not using enough detergent in the water which allowed mold to form inside the mop. I now use much more detergent (6 caps of Bona Pro concentrate) in the tank than I did before.
Cool and very well laid out tutorial. Thank you very much. It helped a lot
Glad it helped
Fantastic video. Step by step very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Hi, your video is amazing and makes the whole process super easy. However, my irobot still doesnt spray after cleaning the whole line. I dont know what else to do now.
Very helpful video.. thanks. My problem is the filter.. it's water tight!! I put it in vinegar and CLR for 30 minutes+ and still not letting water through.. any ideas? Thanks.
Great video. Really helped in getting my mops nozzle cleaned. 👍
Glad it helped
Another tips, after you fixed it. Once per months mixed water with some cleaning vinegar and fill it in the water tank, let the ibraava working in your bathroom. It will clean your bathroom and also clean the hose inside the robot.
Thanks for sharing
Yes! All I had to do was clean the little strainer under the tank. Thank you!
Glad I could help!
Mine has 2 orange tubes, both connected to a small white cylinder...what do I do now? I removed the cylinder and left the hoses attached to it.
Thanks so much. My Braava jet is spraying again.
Glad I could help!
Hello, 1 of the 2 mop contacts oxidized and rotted and no longer charges, the rest is perfect, how do you fix it? are there spare parts?
Had the nozzle submerged with White Distilled Vinegar for about an hour and a half now and when trying to blow through the tube it's still stuck unfortunately. Any other suggestions?
Great video! Up and running in no time (well maybe a little time) 😅
Glad it helped!
My robot has same issue so I am really grateful for this video. However I am stuck at the first step. I removed the filter and noticed at it does not let any water through the filter, so checking the filter closely using a strong light I can see some brown mineral or some kind of deposit on the filter. I tried vinegar to make it better, also tried to clean it with toothbrush but it seems nothing helps, the filter does not want to let any water through like yours at the beginning of your video. Do you have any suggestion how should I clean it correctly? I tried to buy a new part but it is simply impossible here in Europe. I found some aftermarket products on Amazon and some on eBay but I am not sure these work with the product the same as the original part. :(
I did it. It’s working. Thank you so much😊
You’re very welcome.
Flipping Awesome! Thanks so much......
You bet!
Thanks for providing this video and information.
Glad it was helpful!
Wow, thank you so much, you've made my day!!!
Thanks so much for the tutorial!
You’re welcome.
Thank you. I needed this video
You’re welcome
Thanks for the video, I found that the filter was filthy and the seal was in wrong
You’re welcome.
Kudos to iRobot for making the clog prone nozzle easy to service. Not.
I think ima soak the entire robot in vinegar and hope for the best 🤞
It is actually easy to replace. It takes about two minutes and 5 screws. It could have been easier , like snap in, or screw on (like a sprayer bottle nozzle) with no screws.
I am disappointed at IRobot because they do not sell the part, and third-party replacement nozzles cost over $20

It would have been nice if they made the nosel more accessible to clean.
Really grateful for this video
Glad to help.
Great work. Archive this one for use ;)
Enjoy!
Thank you. Worked like a charm
Glad to hear it!
This video, extremely helpful, worked.
Glad to hear it!
Perfect. Very helpful. TY.
YW!
Спасибо! Очень подробно и понятно! Хотелось бы знать по световым индикаторам,иногда робот просто стот на базе и горит белым светом очень долго?
Great detailed video!
Thank you.
Thanks so much, you saved me!
Glad to hear it!
This works! Thanks for the tip.
You’re welcome
Super instrukcja. Jeśli minie gwarancja to sam będę to naprawiał.
@@retrotechandelectronics Ja odeślę mopa do serwisu. Bo przy natryskiwaniu płyn ciągle kropelki spływa z dyszy i wlatuje w ten przycisk do ściągania mopa. Potem leci do środka zderzaka . I jak podniosę mopa to wycieka dołem przy kole. Oddam do serwisu na wymianę dyszy
I've watched your video and gone through the process. It's still not spraying when it "sprays" . I also found a large tank in between the piping on my model. A plastic tank. How long should I soak it in vinegar for?
An hour should be fine.
I did all the above! I even tested the sprayer by blowing, it squirts and bubbles. But when I put it all back together it just drips. No spray. Any recommendations?
Did you check the filter for flow as id mentioned
I add white vinegar to my water when cleaning and it keeps the spray nozzle and filter clean 🎉 haven't had a problem since the 1st clog 🎉
Dont know how long the internals of the pump will hold up with that PH level./
I ran through the actions of the video twice and both times there was a good jet of water for about 5min and then back to the water just dribbling out. What do you suggest?
Check the filter as shown in the video.. the membrane isnt passing water.
@@retrotechandelectronics Wystarczy że do testu zdejmiesz filtr i będziesz wiedział czy leci płyn. Jeśli tak to sitko
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
You’re welcome
👏👏👏👏👏. Bravaaaaaaa for making such a great video. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Glad you liked it.
Thank you so much
You're welcome.
Could you fill the reservoir with white vinegar and run the robot normally and see if that would clear the nozzle, or would that damage the robot?
I would think that level of acidity would be tough on the pump
Mine is still clogged after a hour. We have a problem with hard water here. What should I do?
Did you try blowing it out with compressed air?
@@retrotechandelectronics use destilled water
How long do I soak the stuff in vinegar for
I did it for an hour or so, thats it.
What if we add vinegar to the tank constantly? Just a thought :)
Personally I wouldn’t wanting my floors smelling even a little like vinegar. Also vinegar also wears down grout
Or descaler, just like the coffee machine
Thank you 🙇🏻
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you
You’re welcome!
Thanks for vidéo
Youre welcome.
I did the whole procedure, the yellow pipe was dirty, when I restarted it initially it dripped some water but after 2 3 sprays again it stopped 😢, please help.
Clean the filter.
I already clean the filter
What size screw driver?
15/16
My filter doesn't drip how do you clean it?
drop the filter in white vinegar like in the video.
For how long?
i several time beat and kicked my little helper and now he is not spraying anymore i guess i used the wrong cleaning supplies but i have to beat him he can't climb up small objects and than he makes noises and i have to stand up and search for him and mostley he is stuck in my kitchen i mean for 600 bugs he should be able to clime small objects up like laminate
Watching this convinced me NOT to get one.
We like it, its just two issue, one is the nozzle should be removable from the outside, 2 there should be a reservoir to fill the unit automatically.
My unit tends to drop water from the side of the bumper, seems that when it sprays, some water just flows onto the bumper and accumulates. Another problem that irritates me a lot is that it creates a water puddle inside the robot when removing the tank. Just overall poor design for such an expensive machine.
If I had known that I would have to do all this I never would have bought this robot. I am elderly and cant go thru all this ugh.
Old folks can fix stuff too....
Great video, but I'm not handy enough to do this, also my eye sight is failing. We don't have very hard water and there is a central decalcifier unit in the house but still the whole thing clogs up. The concept of that nozzle needs to be reviewed so there's an easier acces for cleaning it. I've alwayS been happy with my old Roomba, it's getting long in the tooth and since I also experience issues with the software acting up on the braava jet, I probably won't buy the latest of the series. Or any iRobot product for that matter :(
Just seems like a lot of work for the money paid for it
It should have been front detachable for cleaning.
What an awful design.
And a great video.
Thanks.
Thanks for watching!
Are you kidding me???😢. I can’t do that!
Ask a friend.
Planned obsolescence. With this construction the producer does not want the consumer to repair the product.
They could definitely have improved on the sprayer for cleaning.
The issues with the sprayer might rely to the kind of additives to the water, they offer specific additives (quite expensive). @@retrotechandelectronics
If you open the M6 you void the warranty - They want 250.00 with the machine to fix it now- it will come back with a 3 month warranty ' A real scam. Oh yah , you will be answering needless questions for ten minutes or more . All cables inside are epoxied
