  • The robot doesn't spray uniformly anymore, it sprays only two separate jets, so I tried to clean it.

    I have tried about anything to get the nozzle clean. aircompressor syringe with different sullutions and more. At last I bought a small sonic cleaner, and put the nozzle in a small glass with vinegar (ättika 24%) and fill up the cleaner with water outside the glass. Run it for 10 minutes and it sprays like a new nozzle again. (Y)

      I think I damaged mine a little while trying to clean it, so it sprays water not as mist but as jet. It's unclogged, at least.

      do you have to do this regularly? my 240 just started being clogged, haven't taken it apart yet, but I've only had it a month :(. which sonic cleaner do you have?

    I took mine a part. I ran vinegar through the tubes. I soaked the nozzle in baking soda and vinegar overnight. Right away I noticed debris floating in the water. Now it works like brand new. Thank you for posting. Don’t tighten the screws too tight that will make them almost impossible to remove for the next time you need to open the casing. This was a helpful video! You saved my braava. Subbed!

      Did you fill of vinegar from the tank of the robot instead of water?

    I took the nozzle (two screws) let it seat on a small plastic cup with vineger (used in salads) for 1 hour, then use a little air pump and flush it, put back in place and works as new.

      Good to know, but unfortunately with mine it didn't work. And iRobot doesn't sell the part.

    Finally got mine clear with Spirits of Salt (low-strength hydrochloric acid), a short length of tubing and a syringe to make sure the acid was properly sucked all the way through.

      I will add info to the description. In my case the issue is that I used parquet floor cleaner which probably included some wax for shiny results, so acids may not help much. Still, I'll try your solution and also separately hot water.

    You can take off the nozzle and put the small blue pipe out through the hole with something to pinch it: it won't "spray" but at least there will be water put in front of the robot. It's better than throwing the whole machine to the garbage. I'll try to put another spray nose (from perfume bottle) - it should work since the pump exert pressure to open the nozzle so it's basically the same mechanism

  • @Seekingyourtruth

    I picked up 2 at goodwill for only $6!! No charger but that's cheap enough, one was the nozzle the other was a pinched line. Good score???

    My husband just used a can of compressed air, like you clean your computer keyboard with, to unclog mine.

    • @olafmarzocchi6194
      @olafmarzocchi6194  8 месяцев назад

      There no contradiction. I removed it and I cleaned it, but since there was some physical damage maybe because of previous attempts to clean it with a toothpick, it kept spraying poorly. Even if it's clean.

    My Braava is not going in a straight direction anymore, and I believe is the right side wheel rubber that is gone. Any idea how can I replace it. iRobot charges 79 USD. !

    • @olafmarzocchi6194

      It should be simple to find some rubber and stick it to the wheels... I also noticed it gets worn out quickly

      There is a video you need to order new traction for the wheel and follow the tutorial how to replace it. It’s fairly easy takes about 15 min to an hour. Good luck.

    Mine is clogged and releasing droplets of water only. This replacement parts is nowhere to be found in the internet and most probably I might 3D print this part using resin material. Already sent message to iRobot customer service to inquire where to buy this spare but still no reply.

    Just to give you update. I have just communicated with iRobot customer representative and told me that my Bravaa Jet robot needs to be replaced. Quote "We do not advise removing the nozzle off the robot since it's the core of the unit." Another quote "based on the robot's behavior at this point the robot will need to be replaced". I told her that my nozzle is clogged and insisted me to replace my robot. Crazy and ridiculous right?
    Well, I have no choice but to fabricate my own nozzle.
    I will update you guys. Still waiting for my resin 3D printer.

    • @joreal71

      I missed out this one: "at this point we will advise reaching out with the Singapore support for more information in regards to purchasing a new unit."

    • @olafmarzocchi6194
      @olafmarzocchi6194  5 лет назад +1

      I hope that 3D printing (resin or extrusion) will be able to work... the nozzle is a very accurate part. It would be better to find a nozzle from another spray or somethig and to integrate the nozzle unit into the Braava... at least the "spraying" hole is precise.

    • @joreal71
      @joreal71 5 лет назад +1

      @@olafmarzocchi6194 For me it's better to replace it with fabricated nozzle that has lesser quality water diffusion than my current nozzle which release droplet amount of water. iRobot customer service recommended to buy new braavajet and that was unjustifiable for that faulty part.
      I will be happy and contented as long as my 3d printed will release optimal amount of water.

    • @olafmarzocchi6194
      @olafmarzocchi6194  5 лет назад +1

      @@joreal71 it may be better, but I'm skeptical that a 3D printed nozzle can be accurate enough to "spray" water: the hole needs to be very small. As alternative, if it doesn't work try printing the nozzle with the hole closed and to open the hole yourself later with a needle. This would probably give you a thinner hole and better spray.
      Keep me updated, if possible, my 3D printer is offline so I cannot test myself!

      Can you post a video or pictures? I'm interested in trying but I'm not sure I understand what you mean. What is a pen tubing? And what do you mean with plastic epoxy? I know what epoxy is, I don't understand the overall structure. You can also make a drawing with pen and paper and take a picture of that one, if you have no photos of the actual repair. Thanks!
