Coastal Bluff Roomba
Канада
Добавлен 12 апр 2023
We repair, service and sell pre-owned iRobot roombas and braavas. We also offer long term support to our customers. We started this hobby when we bought a roomba off from Facebook marketplace and found that the roomba didn’t work and the seller ghosted us and gave us a fake address and then disappeared off from Facebook. Since we didn’t want this to happen to someone else, we decided to use our knowledge about roombas (we have owned them for 20 years) and to start fixing them and selling them fully serviced. What we found is that people were happy to buy something second hand that not only worked but also had a 30 day limited warranty and long term support. We recently started offering these videos with the hope they will help you! Don’t forget to subscribe! If you found any of our videos helpful and would like to buy us a coffee we have included this link. We have also included our link for our Facebook page for additional tips on our site. Thank you for supporting our channel!
How to fix iRobot Roomba Self Emptying Errors / vacuum seal or sealing problems with clean base
A roomba that self empties is an amazing feature until it doesn’t empty anymore. The roomba tries to empty and all you get is an error saying there is a vacuum seal problem but it doesn’t say where this is and what it could be. It’s so vague that it could be anything and anywhere but where do you start? This can be frustrating.
We developed this video to help you find some common sources of this error. By going through these steps you may find the source of the self emptying error. This can be but not limited to a clog in the system, a defective hepa bag (or one that is full), an accumulation of debris inside the tower, a valve in the self emptying dustbin that isn’t working, a clog in th...

How to install your 3D printed iRobot Roomba 980, 981, 985, 986, 988 filter dustbin door
Просмотров 2175 месяцев назад
We as a family have decided to 3D print these filter doors as they are not readily available on the market. The 980 series roombas (980, 981, 985, 986, 988) all have a dustbin which is slightly larger than the 960 series bins. The red filter door can get broken either on the tab or the hinges and can cause vacuum errors as the filter isn’t pushed into place. These replacement filter doors are n...
iRobot Braava Jet M6 spinning in circles or navigation errors. One possible fix!
Просмотров 2,9 тыс.6 месяцев назад
Braavas over time can develop problems navigating which often exhibits symptom of moving erratically especially moving around in circles and backwards. It may manifest only when sending it to a specific room to mop and eventually won’t work at all and doesn’t go past its charging station. We found one of the culprits is a build up of debris around inside the wheels causing resistance to when th...
How to clean, wash, reuse any iRobot Roomba hepa filters! Reduce landfill waste and save money!
Просмотров 1,1 тыс.8 месяцев назад
Soaking iRobot roomba hepa filters in a special filter soak cleaner mixture, thoroughly cleans the filter of any build up of dirt and dust that doesn’t come out when vacuuming alone. Not only does this remove unwanted scent or odour, it also helps to extend their use and reduce the frequency of these filters thrown in the landfill which is something we are mindful of. We recommend washing the f...

Robot Braava Jet M6 Error unable to detect a wet pad fix! “Add a pad” fix
Просмотров 5 тыс.Год назад
We found in some braavas, the light emitting underneath to detect a type of pad are diminished (even new braavas - the sensor may be defective). What happens is that the braava can’t detect a pad even though a pad is clearly there! What we discovered is that the blue backing of the wet pads make it difficult for the braava to detect it or “see” it there (like us not being able to see in the dar...
Braava M6 undocking and docking error fix!
Просмотров 30 тыс.Год назад
We spent time researching the best and most durable fix for this problem. Many people with a braava m6 experience the braava not being able to leave it’s dock and not being able to get back on its dock too! Very frustrating! Out of all the types of material and other types of potential solutions to this problem, we found this works best and has been working for our braava for the past 1.5 years...
Great preventative maintenance video. Very helpful. I'm having trouble with the vacuum not emptying the bin. Any suggestions. I watched a video on the i7 but it doesn't have the same screws. So you can't take it apart to clean the sensors. Do you have any ideas or suggestions.
Thank you! Worked perfectly on the washable pad that came with machine which I’ve been struggling with. Used it many times since purchased then after 6 months it stopped connecting. I even bought washable ones on Amazon that I couldn’t get to work. And figured they weren’t authentic and that’s why wouldn’t work. So bought expensive ones from iRobot. Now I think this will work for my Amazon ones since it worked with the pad that came with my machine. This machine is so frustrating to say the least!
Awesome thanks, I did 45 sec for 1 cup of water, and this fixed min in about 1.5 min.
100% the problem. Been dealing with this for a long time. Thx for the fix!!!
Thank you! Using this deep cleaning video, I was able to get my Roomba to finish the job in an hour and a half again. It was taking eight hours and then telling me it couldn't finish. Thank you so much!!!
@@donnettethayer4956 that’s great to hear! Thanks for taking the time to make a comment! We appreciate this!
Cats….
Who would have thought Common Sense would have solved this sticky problem thank you
@@JasonReilich you are very welcome! Glad it helped! Happy cleaning!
A brilliant video! Thank you so much! Good videography; clear and concise diction. I had to sift through a LOT of videos in my quest to find a meaningful one that would help with my problem. I even needed to know how to remove the green rubber guard from the port on the removable bin. I see now that a little bit of gentle forcing is required. Thank you too for the tip about moisture (a little too late for me though). When setting up my Roomba I did not set a no go zone area for where my cat water bowls are. After i noticed that my Roomba was not performing properly, I removed the two green rollers only to discover a whole lot of dirt caked onto the sides of the Roomba behind the rollers. And finally - I loved the bit of humour you added to your video 😸
@@reneenel4338 thank you so much for taking that time to leave your comment. We are glad it has helped you! Happy cleaning!
This did it for me! I had it in storage for a couple of years and I took it out today. It didn’t spray in the beginning, but after 10 minutes and with your help, it was back to normal. Liked the video !
@@thanasisk that’s excellent to hear! Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment that this helped you too. We appreciate this. Happy cleaning!
Thank you very much, I tried it and it worked🫶
This is hugely helpful! I just got a new j7, want to take care of it so it works properly.
Wow! Genius. Worked like a charm
Glad it worked for you! Happy cleaning again!
Thanks so much, great help👍
Just happened to my M6. I barely had it for 3 months, (though I did get it used) and I'm going to try fixing it now with this method. Despite this flaw, I am still hopeful that the M6 is a great product as it cleans my floors very well, even without cleaning solution and just with water. I will reply to this comment if I was able to fix it! Ty for the info.
Thanks so much!!! Mine could not leave the base and the wheels seemed to be slipery. I tried even new wheels and did not work. I cleaned again all the mechanisms like in your video and found hair rolled in the black cap. Finished cleaning it and everything went back to normal. Thanks thanks thanks!

Great video Going to do ours today. Our J7 is not emptying by itself. Later today I cleaned it (wow a lot of junk) What I found the orange valve flap was not seated correctly. Thank you for the detailed explanation . 👍🏼👍🏼😎

Every other video on RUclips I saw said to dismantle the m6 and because of that I procrastinated the job for so long. Saw this video and 5 minutes later my m6 was working perfectly again. Thank you soooooo much!

Great video, thank you! So frustrating that iRobot won’t repair my Braava and asked me to buy a new one because I’m out of warranty. I cleaned the wheels but unfortunately it didn’t help. Any other suggestions? Tried cleaning the sensors, factory reset, etc. I did notice that one of the wheels is a bit harder to turn than the other one
Have you tried to factory reset the mop? You might have to do another map run
@@CoastalBluffRoomba I did and didn’t help. The problem is on the right wheel, it stopped working now. I wish there was a place to buy replacement parts for this Thank you!
@@tcnasc-i3eyou can find replacement wheels on eBay for purchase but it’s not as straight forward as the roombas for replacement. However it might not be the wheel itself and could be the actual circuit board. Perhaps you can find someone near you for possible repair of your braava?

I just did exactly what you recommended on your video to the specifications, it’s amazing how much junk I got out of there. Thank you so much for your insight. Much appreciated.

We recommend cleaning the charging contacts, both on the charger and on the roomba, with eyeglass cleaning wipes as those are often made with isopropyl alcohol and it dries quicky and are readily available. Clean glasses and then roomba! :)
Best vid I’ve seen on this topic. Thank you!
Thank you for taking the time to post your positive comments about our latch! Yes the latch works extremely well and we are very happy with our design!
This is a great innovative design that worked well in the Roomba. Thank you for making this excellent retainer available.
STANOWCZO ODRADZAM!!!!!!!

We are glad that this has helped you too! As for cleaning, if your braava isn’t still under warranty (assuming not, because otherwise you would get your braava replaced), you can use something like Mr clean (1 tsp for a whole tank). Don’t use anything that is antibacterial. Be careful with the cleaner that you do use as it can cause clogging of the spray nozzle and be slippery for the wheels.
Thank you so much for making this video. I didn't have white tape, so I tried masking tape, and it worked! Any suggestions on Bona cleaning liquid alternatives?
The video was incredibly informative; I didn't realize my cleaning wasn't comprehensive until I saw it. Thank you for demonstrating to Roomba owners the proper way to clean and maintain their Roomba vacuum. I appreciate you.

Do not consider Braava jet m6! Not even regular roomba. My Braava under warranty and the company refuses to receive and repair Braava that has a malfunction with smart maps.
I got a little lost when you took out the green rubber seal in the mop reservoir. I removed the screw, but didn’t see how you took out the green flap. Mine didn’t come out, even after I pulled on it a bit. Does it slide out? Also, how would your recommend cleaning the mop head pad itself? Thank you for this video! The amount of dirt I removed was astounding. Any recommendations for how often one should do this routine? I use my iRoomba every other day, and I have two dogs.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. We are glad you found our video helpful. The green flap sometimes gets stuck owing to a build up of debris underneath the flap. There is a clear clip that holds the flap in place. You need to gently pull out the flap with your fingers and if necessary put your fingers inside the dustbin to push up. It’s possible you might need to soak the entire bin in very warm water to help loosened it. Then try to remove it. As for cleaning, recommend every 2-4 weeks.
Perfect! Fixed! Thanks
Glad it helped! Thanks for letting us know!
Thank you! This was BY FAR the BEST video out there!
