  • Often people have various errors with their roomba or charging station usually from a lack of maintenance. Errors can include a bin error (not detecting a bin), roomba doesn’t self empty, brush error, roomba fails to dock by itself, error 8 from not cleaning the hepa filter or roomba doesn’t charge are the common ones. People forget that even a vacuum needs to be cleaned so that it will continue to perform well. We have owned roombas for over 20 years and have learned to maintain them with very minimal problems. We thoroughly clean our roombas about once every 2-3 weeks as we use our roombas daily. You can probably clean it less frequently if you use your roomba less often. If you maintain/service your roomba like we do (although video is 15 minutes, this process takes only 2-5 minutes), you will increase the likelihood you will have less issues with your roomba, and you will be happy with a cleaner home. We would love to hear from you if this works for you! Happy cleaning!

      You are right! It’s a good balance when you have a handheld vacuum that vacuums your stairs and the roomba does everywhere else. Then the handheld can be used for vacuuming out the roomba. Anyway glad it was helpful! Happy cleaning !

    Thank you so much for this video! I just ordered my first Roomba and I’m definitely going to be referencing this video a lot! I hope I don’t regret my purchase… This seems like a whole lot of maintenance, which I’ve never had to do for a regular vacuum, lol! Being visually impaired, it’s probably gonna take me as long to do this as it does to do my regular vacuuming with the canister vacuum, lol! Seriously though, how often do you do this maintenance like this? Once a month? Once every few months?

    We recommend cleaning the charging contacts, both on the charger and on the roomba, with eyeglass cleaning wipes as those are often made with isopropyl alcohol and it dries quicky and are readily available. Clean glasses and then roomba! :)

    Great step by step cleaning video. I'm assuming the "deodorizing" crystals are really just scented crystals, right? To me "Deodorizing" would man removing odor, not replacing or covering it it. Not being snarky, just to my nose those fake scents are more disruptive than the odor they're covering. But you've got me wondering about creating some kind of permeable "Baking Soda straw to stick in there. Someone needs to run with that idea. I'd pay a couple bucks a piece for them.

    • @CoastalBluffRoomba
      @CoastalBluffRoomba  2 месяца назад

      @@leocatz the deodorizing crystals are optional (user preference) and makes the smell less horrible. But some people are sensitive to perfume so not recommended for them. Otherwise it would require more frequent replacement of the hepa bags to keep the orders to a minimum. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Happy cleaning!

    I got a little lost when you took out the green rubber seal in the mop reservoir. I removed the screw, but didn’t see how you took out the green flap. Mine didn’t come out, even after I pulled on it a bit. Does it slide out? Also, how would your recommend cleaning the mop head pad itself? Thank you for this video! The amount of dirt I removed was astounding. Any recommendations for how often one should do this routine? I use my iRoomba every other day, and I have two dogs.

    • @CoastalBluffRoomba
      @CoastalBluffRoomba  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you for taking the time to comment. We are glad you found our video helpful. The green flap sometimes gets stuck owing to a build up of debris underneath the flap. There is a clear clip that holds the flap in place. You need to gently pull out the flap with your fingers and if necessary put your fingers inside the dustbin to push up. It’s possible you might need to soak the entire bin in very warm water to help loosened it. Then try to remove it. As for cleaning, recommend every 2-4 weeks.
