Not enough ports, too underpowered (for a retina display, that is), and far, FAR too expensive. But who knows, 5 years from now, I may just eat my words. I thought the Air was a joke when it came out, but now I have a 2014 MacBook Air... 5 years from now, the MacBook will have at least 2 USB ports and will certainly not be $1400... which is the same price I paid for my 2014 15" Retina MacBook Pro. When this computer isn't a thousand dollars, Core M (graphics) catches up to handle the Retina Display, AND this computer has at least 2 USB ports, it'll be a computer that can be recommended to any average user, in much the same way a MacBook Air is the best "Ultrabook" for the money. Time will tell.

My opinion (in multiple words:P):Custom built desktop PC: Awesome if you know what you're doing Laptop PC: Depends Macbook Pro: Great Macbook Air: Great Macbook: Everything is good except for the price and lack of ports.
Yeah, and the battery life is way better. I have had mine for nearly 6 months now (2014, 13 inch) and still getting 12 hours of battery life (for the first three months or so, I was getting over 14 hours). The new macbook is supposed to get 9 hours, so for a while it will probably get around 12, but as the battery wears in, it will go back down.

Personally, my favourite tech reviewer on RUclips. Very detailed and very respectful to all products despite its brand. Never insults products for something keeps it professional and unbiased. I would say even MKBHD who is considered the best is more Android biased reviewer when he reviewes Apple products. Keep up the great work!

I used this MacBook from 2015 to 2022. I consumed different content and played Tanks. I want to say that, the device is not bad and it is very convenient to take it with you on a trip. His screen is very good and bright, for that time it was a top. But in the last couple of years, problems with the battery began and the device worked very slowly. I went to the official Apple reseller store and decided to buy MBP M1 Max . Now I am very happy with the new device, it has a great screen, it works quickly and my very high recommendations for buying it.
Man, rewatching all these is nuts. this was a slow laptop but it brought a ton of cool new features we still have. Glad they got rid of that butterfly keyboard though.

Macbook pro retina 15 inch with dedicated graphics would be the best choice, but it is really expensive. it has the most processing power and has its own graphics card. But if thats too much money, the 13 inch Macbook pro is good too with its intergrated graphics. The intel iris series is gettin almost as good as nvidia 940m graphics

Hands down, THE best review I've seen (and I've seen most if not all). Didn't have to look at different reviews to compare it to the other models in Apple's line up. I'm getting it as my main machine (512GB), but I never do anything more than what it can easily do (no photoshop, no video editing) and as a student laptop portability is a high priority. Apple has successfully introduced yet another product that they have described in a way that the average consumer will think he/she is getting more for their money and will consequently buy these like crazy... marketing>reality. And this is coming from someone who has an iPad and a macbook pro 15 inch. I'm lucky enough to be able to afford products i think are look and feel pretty, but I'm well aware i can get better performance elsewhere. But the average consumer walking into an apple store or more likely a BestBuy will be convinced the new macbook is the best value as its marketed as the "mid range" even though its actually the lowest powered just middle priced. The technology in this computer in no way justifies the price and i know for a fact based on research i have done about components used in this computer that this build costs less than the macbook air. If priced below the Air i would understand the place in the market, but this just makes me feel bad for the blissfully unaware people who will be coaxed out of hard earned money for perceived gains in technology that are actually non-existent.

I have the gold version and I regret buying this. It's actually an ipad with a keyboard. I feel bad for myself and the money that I've spent. This is not a laptop for heavy duty purposes and that's what I needed but I was drawn to the color so stupid me.. And plus you have to buy separate accessories which is expensive. If you have an ipad don't buy this. If you want something that's light just and use your ipad. Clearly this not for office use. .😭😭😭

The new Macbook makes the most sense for me because it is smaller, lighter, I have no used for many ports 99% of the time, and can be charged via the backup battery pack I will be carrying anyways. That said: it is overpriced, but you can find some like new condition used ones for a bit under a thousand.
If Apple produced another 12" ultra-thin with the M1, two USB ports and a scissor keyboard for $1000 I'd have my MasterCard out so fast Steve Jobs would get whiplash. And I already have the 2020 M1 Air

I am not gonna even watch this video because I am currently typing this on my Macbook, if you have the money get it. Its definatly some newer technology, the remodeled trackpad & keyboard are really something else and it really makes the product really beautiful. Fan-less, keyboard & keypad are the biggest things about the Macbook. I think they will implement this technology in future Macbook Pro roll outs.

To keep the laptop this thin. I don't use the camera much so I'd prefer 480p over a thicker design.

I have the gold version and I regret buying this. It's actually an ipad with a keyboard. I feel bad for myself and the money that I've spent. This is not a
laptop for heavy duty purposes and that's what I needed but I was drawn to the color so stupid me.. And plus you have to buy separate accessories which is expensive. If you have an ipad don't buy this. If you want something that's light just and use your ipad. Clearly this not for office use. .😭😭😭

I'm a student, and a writer, who is planning to travel for a few months. The new Macbook makes the most sense for me because it is smaller, lighter, I have no used for many ports 99% of the time, and can be charged via the backup battery pack I will be carrying anyways. That said: it is overpriced, but you can find some like new condition used ones for a bit under a thousand.

I am not gonna even watch this video because I am currently typing this on my Macbook, if you have the money get it. Its definatly some newer technology, the remodeled trackpad & keyboard are really something else and it really makes the product really beautiful. Fan-less, keyboard & keypad are the biggest things about the Macbook. I think they will implement this technology in future Macbook Pro roll outs.
