What i don't understand is: in the polygyny system what is the benefit of non-committed concubines/mistresses? Because you said that the woman strategy is to get commitment from an high valeu man, but playing the concubine/mistress card will only increase your bodycount, so will reduce the woman's pair bond capacity and will reduce her valeu in the sexual marketplace; than there is the adulterous thing, because if she is already committed in a relationship than she is committing adultery and is basically cheating her partner. It is not against God the bible doesn't even look down on polygyny in fact it supports it. For example the scripture that speaks of the prophecy of the seven brides meeting the groom. That is a polygynous relationship in which Christ and and the church are used as metaphors. Now personally, i think polygyny should only be present if the women is not emotionally damaged by it and it is comunicated to her before the relationship starts in order for it to be fair. You said women would be bothered by it. Not all. Part of why it would bother them is nurtural society deems it as bad but also you are projecting the fact that it would bother you. I cant speak for everyone else but as an infp woman i can understand how a man having multiple partners can stir up jealousy feelings of doubt or whether or not he is committed or loves you for you but in my experience if he is still around, if he does things out of his way to still spend time with you and talk to you on a personal level and shows he is still the providing for his family then maybe its understandable for males having to do this but as a female who has been in this situation before it is hard to accept and understand and can really mess up an infps psyche 😊 perhaps its more of a biological need rather then anything to do with the heart? If the world actually worked like that, having society following those rules as the expected behaviour, I'd rather be a man than a woman. In such a world, being a woman sounds extremely boring and dull while being a man sounds hella amazing, even with the work and effort it's meant to require. How is the burden of male performance and being forced to slave in the rat race considered amazing? I am grateful for the gift that I don't have to slave away 60+ hours a week to put food on the table. And multiple wives means I'm not tied to the children 24/7. We work in shifts. Depends on which dynamic you are speaking of. Being a mistress sounds awful for a women but if a man is devoted and meets your needs despite having other wives, you won't be bored. As a woman who once was an extremist and followed radical feminism and egoistic ideologies too seriously, I can tell you that these extremist viewpoints don't help you in any practical way, give you what you need or help you achieve your goal. I never understood why men think that we as women are attracted to guys who have sex with multiple women. I know that STDs are a thing and I sorry but I don’t want your spotted dick nor would I want to compete for resources. Plus when you look at statistics, they show that men are happier than women when married and men live longer when married. So marriage must be beneficial to men, otherwise they wouldn’t do it in the first place. Also what happens if Chase’s wife gets sick or becomes disabled? Statistically speaking men are more likely to leave or divorce if their wives get sick more so than women. So if his wife gets sick and “lets her body go”, does that mean that he is allowed to cheat? Also women are mostly divorcing when they get older. So banking on her not jumping ship when he cheats because she is old, is not wise. Honestly I’d recommend her leaving him and never marrying again like what most women end up doing anyway. We do all this labor for men and they end up cheating or replacing us anyway. Reading the entire Rational Male series, Art of Seduction and The Game books enlightened me deeply. I'm an INFP and I didn't realize before how undersirable I looked physically, and why I could rarely attract a girl, which made me look at my very few ESTP friends like semigods before. Nowadays I have improved but from experience, observation, deep reflection and knowledge I've gathered so far in life everywhere around me I see this phenomenon happening all the time. If I had a husband that I loved and respected deeply, as a godly housewife - I believe that a wife should always be a housewife to take proper care of her husband - the perspective of him getting a second wife would break my heart. However, it would make me so sad that I think that if he respected me as a sister as well, he should not take a decision that would hurt me so much. Overall, I strongly believe this is something that any godly man should make very clear to his fiancee before marrying her. If he was to break this oath, I would have to remain his wife until death, but it would hurt me until death as well. It's fine and undrrstandable that you feel that way but thet doesn't mean all women will feel that way. You say a goldly man wouldn't do this to his wife. Sure, under the circunstances that he had promised monogamy. But a man can love his wife and have another one, maybe not in the same way/quantatity a man would in a monogamous relationship but he still could, as long as he meets her needs and she is okay with it and he comunicated to her before the relationship began. As a woman, I don’t have any theoretical issues with polygyny, but I found it impossible to put into practice due to the inability of (real, not hypothetical) men to actually handle it. I would happily stand corrected, but so far it sounds as utopian as any other utopian ideology. Until then, I will maintain that polyamory (as ethical non-monogamy, not as a variation of “sex swinging” like some/most people seem to see it) works much better in real-life conditions than any other option we have now. I would also object to what seems to be a biology/evolutionary-based reductionist view on men-women relationships (hypergamy/polygyny/etc), but it might be due to the constraints of the format. My objection is not against the truth value of this perspective, it’s definitely true, but it’s not the whole truth and other facets of the truth are as important as this one. Men and women are more complex than their biological-evolutionary imperatives and relationships can (and ideally should) cover and enrich those other aspects of themselves as humans.

The JW’s make similar type of interpretations with which are purported on Biblical exogeis not the proper exegesis. In addition, the Book of Genesis is not to be interpreted literally. One of my favourite German philosopher, Arthur Schopenhauer mention that the are to methods of interpreting Scripture: “Sensio proprio”, which is the literal interpretation, and “sensio aligorico”, which is the allegorical interpretation. The first method is mainly for the mass man, whom are only capable of interpreting literally, and the second method is the allegorical with which involves higher reasoning and the ability to make intellectual abstractions.

I think it's pretty easy to understand polygyny when you understand male idealism. We don’t tell the charitable person at the toys for tots collection, "hey now you can only give to one kid because it might hurt the other kids if you take some of your time and resources to buy gifts for the other kids" The kids are grateful, and they don’t feel entitled because life has humbled them (maybe even to a sad point). How can it work ? If every woman behave like you said and have a relationship with her husband only, 95% of men will be forced to stay in a monogamous relationship anyway because there is not enough women.
Seriously. I’m neutral on polygyny if it could work on a large scale and it was scalable but it really isn’t(at least in a world that lacks male scarcity). If the world is half men, half women and let’s say 5 percent of the male population takes up the majority of women and creates families with them, this means 95 percent of the men will be left out, angry and ticked. That’s a powder keg waiting to happen. 95 percent of men with no purpose to be productive, no wife and family to look forward to, etc. What do you think will happen? A violent burning fire of men would come to cleanse that society or be so indifferent and apathetic to their society it would lead to collapse (unless you turned them into slaves and made such men productive by force). Even in nations where polygyny is legal mostly monogamy is practiced (even in places like the Middle East the average man only has one wife). Now polygyny can work on a smaller scale or where a very small amount of men and women practice it, but it shouldn’t be a worldwide normal model. Not to mention you can also end up with a lack of genetic diversity if you only have a small percentage of men having all the families and children. That would be another huge risk leading to genetic diseases due to inbreeding and everyone being related to each other due to such a small percentage of men having all the children over a few generations. As a side note there is one scenario where polygyny is successful without the aforementioned problems (other than potential for inbreeding) and that is when there is male scarcity. This would happen likely due to things like war where a male population is wiped out which can and does happen over human history (unfortunately). When that happens polygyny becomes a very practical solution with one man being with multiple women. I’m sure there are other scenarios where it becomes pragmatic as well but barring that, polygyny as the end all be all solution doesn’t scale in a world where the genders are 50/50. I’m open minded if I could be convinced that it is the long term solution but I simply don’t see how it can be.
This model wouldn’t support the “death til us part” path too well. Life is full of “good times and bad” and “sickness and health” dynamics that challenge males to be men. Alternative partners to whom one can go undermines faithfulness. Various children of various fathers living together as their mom accepts infidelity won’t bode well for producing emotionally and morally healthy people. The society would break down. God knew what He was doing when He gave us the Ten Commandments. Strong families are the pillar of society and strong marriages are crucial for that. @@CSJoseph Men are generally not naturally monogamous if they went by their instincts as most men have to be epigenetically programmed through our familial and cultural institutions to be that way. Men were designed to spread their seed far and wide from a nature perspective. The problem is in a civilized society there simply are too many men or not enough women to go around for polygyny. It’s why men themselves constructed such rules and put restraints on male sexuality. We couldn’t live in the civilization we are in without it (we are also seeing such rules dilapidate with open sexuality). If a wife and family were completely unattainable for 90-95 percent of men out there where only the top 5-10 percent got all the women, our civilization would collapse unless we used force and required such men to be productive and turned them into slaves. I get why guys fight against monogamy as it’s not natural to them but the alternative is worse. Life is about trade offs. The cost of a few men having all the women simply outweighs the benefits and will actually lead to an even more degenerate society and some very angry men or at the very least apathetic and uncaring men that would lead to it’s destruction.

What i don't understand is: in the polygyny system what is the benefit of non-committed concubines/mistresses?
Because you said that the woman strategy is to get commitment from an high valeu man, but playing the concubine/mistress card will only increase your bodycount, so will reduce the woman's pair bond capacity and will reduce her valeu in the sexual marketplace; than there is the adulterous thing, because if she is already committed in a relationship than she is committing adultery and is basically cheating her partner.

I never understood why men think that we as women are attracted to guys who have sex with multiple women. If I had a husband that I loved and respected deeply, as a godly housewife - I believe that a wife should always be a housewife to take proper care of her husband - the perspective of him getting a second wife would break my heart. I would be emotionally DESTROYED for having to share my beloved husband. Living like this sounds like torture. As a woman, I don’t have any theoretical issues with polygyny, but I found it impossible to put into practice due to the inability of (real, not hypothetical) men to actually handle it. I would happily stand corrected, but so far it sounds as utopian as any other utopian ideology.
Until then, I will maintain that polyamory (as ethical non-monogamy, not as a variation of “sex swinging” like some/most people seem to see it) works much better in real-life conditions than any other option we have now.
I would also object to what seems to be a biology/evolutionary-based reductionist view on men-women relationships (hypergamy/polygyny/etc), but it might be due to the constraints of the format. My objection is not against the truth value of this perspective, it’s definitely true, but it’s not the whole truth and other facets of the truth are as important as this one. Men and women are more complex than their biological-evolutionary imperatives and relationships can (and ideally should) cover and enrich those other aspects of themselves as humans.

The first method is mainly for the mass man, whom are only capable of interpreting literally, and the second method is the allegorical with which involves higher reasoning and the ability to make intellectual abstractions.

How can it work ? If every woman behave like you said and have a relationship with her husband only, 95% of men will be forced to stay in a monogamous relationship anyway because there is not enough women.
Seriously. I’m neutral on polygyny if it could work on a large scale and it was scalable but it really isn’t(at least in a world that lacks male scarcity). If the world is half men, half women and let’s say 5 percent of the male population takes up the majority of women and creates families with them, this means 95 percent of the men will be left out, angry and ticked. That’s a powder keg waiting to happen. 95 percent of men with no purpose to be productive, no wife and family to look forward to, etc. What do you think will happen? A violent burning fire of men would come to cleanse that society or be so indifferent and apathetic to their society it would lead to collapse (unless you turned them into slaves and made such men productive by force). Even in nations where polygyny is legal mostly monogamy is practiced (even in places like the Middle East the average man only has one wife).
Now polygyny can work on a smaller scale or where a very small amount of men and women practice it, but it shouldn’t be a worldwide normal model. Not to mention you can also end up with a lack of genetic diversity if you only have a small percentage of men having all the families and children. That would be another huge risk leading to genetic diseases due to inbreeding and everyone being related to each other due to such a small percentage of men having all the children over a few generations.
As a side note there is one scenario where polygyny is successful without the aforementioned problems (other than potential for inbreeding) and that is when there is male scarcity. This would happen likely due to things like war where a male population is wiped out which can and does happen over human history (unfortunately). When that happens polygyny becomes a very practical solution with one man being with multiple women. I’m sure there are other scenarios where it becomes pragmatic as well but barring that, polygyny as the end all be all solution doesn’t scale in a world where the genders are 50/50. I’m open minded if I could be convinced that it is the long term solution but I simply don’t see how it can be.

Men were designed to spread their seed far and wide from a nature perspective. The problem is in a civilized society there simply are too many men or not enough women to go around for polygyny. It’s why men themselves constructed such rules and put restraints on male sexuality. We couldn’t live in the civilization we are in without it (we are also seeing such rules dilapidate with open sexuality). If a wife and family were completely unattainable for 90-95 percent of men out there where only the top 5-10 percent got all the women, our civilization would collapse unless we used force and required such men to be productive and turned them into slaves. I get why guys fight against monogamy as it’s not natural to them but the alternative is worse. Life is about trade offs. The cost of a few men having all the women simply outweighs the benefits and will actually lead to an even more degenerate society and some very angry men or at the very least apathetic and uncaring men that would lead to it’s destruction.
