capacitor is good, no need to change capacitor. the power transistor is short circuit so it is not blocking voltage. in normal condition each capacitor's voltage must available at each transistor's collector to emitter. if any transistor is short circuited, then it will not hold VCEO, in result all voltage will appear at the opposite transistor. so the power supply cannot take startup

@@HaseebElectronics it didn't appear that you made any mention of the caps possibly being shot, You didn't check the E.S.R Burning smells are fine, if it just blew up now, but if it's been a week or 2 the smell wouldn't be there You touched it with your fingers then.. thought nothing of it Great you swapped the Transistor, You didn't check other possible faulty components as a result of the short
the capacitor ESR test is needed when the supply don't drive the load or it fluctuates or the power MOSFET or fuse burns out if the circuit works fine, then mostly I skip the ESR test

I have seen too many situations where i should have tested E.S.R. on Caps and... time and experience has taught me that i should Besides it only takes you say a few seconds more to test 2 or 3 caps or maybe 1min to test them all when i repair, i basically do what you did, i follow the voltage i find the fault , i replace one thing at a time BUT I ALWAYS DO HOUSEKEEPING AFTERWARDS if all seems ok, i'll check basics like ESR on caps Resistance on Fuses Just in case and i have had scenarios where i have seen High resistance on fuses even though the circuit works and high ESR on caps when it was all working and changing them out as well since it's open saves time fucking around later on but hey, again, we all have our own way we do things that's how i would have done it but yeah, mainly because you had all that blackened stuff, I NEVER LOOK PAST THAT

I have 6v 30 amps with exact problem but when I opened the box i saw they totally removed the transistor serial numbers by polishing the plastic surfaces.. do you have any suggestions about which kind of transistor models are compatible for this power supply please? Is this model what you showing is compatible? Thanks

Trace the circuit with what ever other components are still unremoved including switching ic. Match for ckts. You can find it out.
