  • in this video number {1002} SMPS output voltage fluctuating, unregulated output, i demonstrated how to test / troubleshoot and repair 12 volt 5 ampere 60 watt, KA3842, KA2842, KA1842, UC1842, UC2842, UC3842 UCC1842, UCC2842 or UCC3842 based flyback converter switch mode power supply, its output voltage were unregulated and fluctuating. i explained the possible reasons related to this fault condition.
    SMPS OutPut Voltage Low and Fluctuating, SMPS Output Fluctuation. How To Repair Switch Mode Power Supply when the output voltage are less than the rated voltage and it is giving unregulated voltage, after replacing the faulty potentiometer in feedback network, the power supply started working normally.

    Hi for 1 Amps load testing how much resistance u have connected and watts, PLZ share me the calculation also...

      it is 6.8 ohms 20 watt resistance (2 in series) total 13..6 ohms 20 watt
      P = V^2 /R
      (12*12)/13.6 = 10.5 watt
      I= v/R 12/13.6 = 0.882 Amper
      P = i^2*R 0.882^2 x 13.6 = 10.588 watts

    Sir I want to know why in SMPS I find that when voltage input is 230v it is giving maximum ampere but when the voltage is low like 100v or 110v it is not giving that rated current. Also it is universal type SMPS

    I hate mains power supply because if failure the breaker switch trips and the fuse don’t blow i think company’s should add a small breaker in the unit to stop main house breaker from tripping
