  • in this video number {1002D} MW S-150-15 SMPS providing Less output voltage, Mean Well S-150-15 SMPS providing low output voltage, i repaired this 15 volt 10 ampere power supply, it was proving low output voltage (9 volt) instead of 15 volt. and the output cannot be adjusted by potentiometer. i replaced TL494CN ic, it is same as KA7500

    This is unusual. TL494 needs 7V-40V. 3.9V is too low so I was thinking the fault was with the VCC input voltage, something like burned or open resistor. But as usual your diagnosis is correct and you fixed it :-)

    Sir this video is really different for me compare to other videos. Because your showing the ic pin detail to us, like this video here after please keep showing us. really this make sense to me. And one more doubt sir i check the data sheet, Vcc supply it should be 7-40v. But inthis smps only we received 3.7v. Is this acceptable supply voltage? Thank you sir.

    Nice! Please load test after repair? Components don't blow up on their own under no load. Why did the IC go bad? Do other failing components cause the IC to burn up under load?
    Voltage is good but useless without current capacity

    If the control lamp connected in series with the 230V AC power supply stays on continuously, does it mean that the respective source has problems on the DC voltage output side? Thanks for the explanation.

      It shows that there's a short somewhere on input ac side.

    Hello... the problem I have is not finding the problem and the power source (12 volts 30 amps)... instead of being 12 volts, the output is about 5 volts and the voltage changes very little by turning the potentiometer... I replaced two filter capacitors due to the loss of capacity (I tested the parts with a multimeter and a T7 tester) and the voltage of each of them is about 150 volts and the total is about 300... I also tested the MOSFETs with a tester and a multimeter and they are fine... I also replaced all the electrolytic capacitors around the switching IC... I also tested the transistors and all the diodes around the switching IC... one interesting thing is that the ground and VCC voltage I get is about 7 volts There is, and I think this voltage is weak!... But the REF voltage is about 5 volts... I have to say that I even changed the IC for testing and there was no change!... In short, I wonder where the problem could be.

    plz i did and tested the 12 pin give me 9.30v and Vref give me 5 volt but my main output is 4.5 to 5.60 and should be 12 Vdc tested the daiods and the caps and resestors nothing at all i just hearing nosie come out of the transformer the big one what i need to check thanks

      Plz engineer answer this one I av one with the same same problem and no matter how many videos I have watched none has such kind of fault.some noise coming from the big pulse transformer hence low output.Thanks.
