This is very disgusting to hear how some of these crooks could disrespect the remains of people's loved ones! If there were any such things as ghosts, it would be nice for them to haunt the hell out of all those crooks and for those who would even think about doing such evil and wicked things to the remains of someone's loved ones!!!!
I was blessed to have worked for establishments that didn't play that. The owner of one of them would visit the embalming room to make sure that jokes about the deceased where not happening. That's when the industry focused on high standards and respect!
I live in Jacksonville and the Howell case was huge. He had the indigent contract with the city. It took the city a couple years to dig up graves and identify the deceased. He was putting multiple bodies in caskets and charging the city for each case. He didn’t even own that building and believe it or not him and his wife were living there as well. They did an article on people in Jacksonville about 10 years later about people who were arrested for scandals and what they’re doing now. He was delivering pizzas for Pizza Hut. He claimed he had a drinking problem that led him to do what he did. They finally tore the building down a few years after it was shut down.
I have such respect for you and the way you handle funerals and answer questions. I’m thankful my family has used the same funeral home for generations. I can’t imagine a loved one being disrespected!
I remember as a kid hearing about a funeral home somewhere ( 50ish years later I don't remember now) that was selling bodies to med schools as donated cadavers without the families knowledge. Sandbags were placed in the caskets so it felt like there was a body inside and were buried. They got caught when a body was exhumed for a 2nd autopsy and the casket was filled with sandbags. They had been doing this for quite a while and even the funeral home had lost count of how many sandbag caskets had been buried. Now that's naughty!
Was that the one in New York? He was caught and punished for doing such horrible things. If it's the same one I am thinking of, one of the bodies who had parts removed and sold without the family's knowledge was a noted television personality.

All of the cases are disturbing, but the ones involving fetuses bother me the most. Maybe it has something to do with the trauma of having lost so many babies myself, but I feel like it's extra evil to mistreat a fetus or deceased baby. Stuffing those babies away like last seasons wardrobe is just plain evil. I don't understand how anyone could be so cold or uncaring.

As the Altadena fire truck was climbing the grade toward the foothill crematory that was stuffed with bodies and ablaze, there was a several block long ribbon of burning fat running down along the gutter and into the storm drain. The Captain aboard the pumper was heard to say "this doesn't look good at all." At least David Sconce ended up in prison for his illegal funerary antics
It doesn't take many horrific stories like these that scare people regarding funeral homes. The vast majority of people never have any contact with funeral homes until they're forced to so never know any morticians personally, consequently having to trust them strictly on faith. It can be very scary.
So refreshing to see someone outing the low-lifes in THEIR OWN profession. If ONLY we could get Lawyers, Cops, Doctors, Judges and Politicians to DO THE SAME, imagine the safe, ethical society we could live in. . . . but, OF COURSE, that would NEVER happen. . . .
Kari, how is a loved one prepared if they've decided too not to be shown in their casket, are they put into plastic bags before putting the decease in their caskets?
What I don't understand is why some families doesn't pick up the remains of their deceased loved ones. Didn't the family love that person. I don't understand how these places got away with not performing the funeral service. That's not something that would go un noticed by the family.
We had a guy that opened a bag and shared them with all his fire department buddies. We had a Medic she took pictures of a driver and shared them. that was not right. There was no law against this, So our state made it a felony to take a picture of human remains. That made meany of us happy.
As hard as it might be, it's very important to figure out which funeral home you want to use when it comes times. We are all going to die, but trying to make funeral arrangements when you are an emotional wreck is not easy. There are a lot of honest ones out there, but there's a lot of bad ones to. I have a friend in the funeral business who gave me some tips. 1. Don't waste your money on a super fancy stainless steel coffin. It's not going to preserve the body. 2. Don't fall for the upgrade of a sealer on the coffin to keep it air tight. It's nothing more than a rubber gasket that will blow out as pressure builds 3. Don't fall for the upgraded coffin vault either. 4. Embalming is not mandatory. 5. Have friends and family print cards and invitations. 6. That obituary ad in the paper will probably cost you 500.00. 7. Always get at least 10-15 death certificates. You will be surprised at how many you need. 8. Bring a friend or family member with you to make arrangements. A person who isn't emotionally hurting inside. They can greatly help you avoid being taken advantage of.

@@middysmamma as far as I know he is not practicing..google Brent Marsh a lot of information on him
The punishments were too lenient!
SO true!!
Ugh oh my!
OMG…..absolutely horrifying🤬
Oh my gosh. I'm sorry for all the families who suffered, I'm sure some for years because of what happened.
I can't imagine
Where would they stored that many decomposing bodies. (Idaho')
basements or wherever
This will be interesting!
Thanks!
It doesn't take many horrific stories like these that scare people regarding funeral homes. The vast majority of people never have any contact with funeral homes until they're forced to so never know any morticians personally, consequently having to trust them strictly on faith. It can be very scary.
Agreed
I hear metal tags with numbers are with each cremated remains. True or false?
True
So sad…they should never be permitted to practice ever!!!!
Number 5 sounds like one I told u Abt that happened here
:)
So refreshing to see someone outing the low-lifes in THEIR OWN profession. If ONLY we could get Lawyers, Cops, Doctors, Judges and Politicians to DO THE SAME, imagine the safe, ethical society we could live in. . . . but, OF COURSE, that would NEVER happen. . . .
:)
seems like a lot of laziness involved in these stories.
And neglect, not to mention scammers!!
Very much so!
Too make a dime you do the crime, some ppl dont car at all, no respect at all. Great video Kari.
Thank you!
Kari, how is a loved one prepared if they've decided too not to be shown in their casket, are they put into plastic bags before putting the decease in their caskets?
They may not take them out of a body bag
I live 20 miles from Noble....what the Marsh family did is unforgiveable...my now husband had a family member there....horrible horrible
terrible!
What I don't understand is why some families doesn't pick up the remains of their deceased loved ones. Didn't the family love that person. I don't understand how these places got away with not performing the funeral service. That's not something that would go un noticed by the family.
I think they just don't want to have to deal with that part of it
Agree. Put them in jail!
forever
We had a guy that opened a bag and shared them with all his fire department buddies. We had a Medic she took pictures of a driver and shared them.
that was not right. There was no law against this, So our state made it a felony to take a picture of human remains. That made meany of us happy.
Ugh horrible!
I remember the Jacksonville Fl case. Very sad.
:)
It's nothing more than a rubber gasket that will blow out as pressure builds
So true!
I would add to have discussions with your family as to everyone’s wishes and check prices before the services are needed. Be realistic about death.
