  • Whether you have a background in RC and have money, or have no experience at all and limited funds, one of these methods will be right for you! I'd only add that if you DO find out you like tiny whoops, get yourself a good radio as your SECOND step!

Sage advice kind sir! I toe dipped with a DJI FPV drone, have yet to fly in manual/acro mode, but doing ok in LiftOff. Need to concentrate on drills now ❤

I'm sure you'll get there soon! Looking back, I wish I practiced more specific drills instead of just flying around like an idiot.

My daily driver is now a Radiomaster Pocket, cheap as chips, but I absolutely love it for many reasons. These days, it does not have to be expensive to be good.
Plus, I have started to convert my fleet to ELRS, 27 so far. F%&# DSMX and Frsky...

I’m so glad prices for radios have come down and the products are actually good! back when our options were pretty much futaba or spektrum, it was just out of reach for many people. Now $300 or less can get you something that’ll last forever and control your drone easily miles and miles away. Times have changed, but it’s not all for the worse! ELRS is king 👌👌

I wound up with a Tx12 after watching one of your videos when you mentioned starting out with a decent controller.

Now I'm confused. I just commented on your other video which suggests not buying one of these kits!

This video is directed at people with NO FPV experience and no pre-existing gear. I think it fits nicely with the other video in that if you buy a tiny whoop, the next step would be getting a good radio. But if you start with a good radio right away, now you can prioritize most of your other spending on a good charger and good video system. Just my opinions through my experience of course, but I've seen it help many people I know and that's why its in here. Thanks for watching and commenting! Hopefully your experience in the hobby has been good so far.

@@propabilityfpv cool. Glad I didn't make a mistake. I don't want to regret learning to fly with the radio you said you dislike. Is it hard to transition to different radios?

Are you currently on the BetaFPV radio that comes with the RTF whoops? There's nothing wrong at all with those for beginners, they certainly have their place! I'll just say that if at some point you do want to get further into it, a better radio is one of the best places to start. Its not that transitioning radios is particularly hard, its just one more thing you have to learn when you're already overwhelmed with all the other gear.
But in general if you're happy with what you already have, don't let me or anyone else tell you its not good enough!

Could you send a link to the RTF you purchased? Some of these things might not have a button, it may be something like plugging it in a few times in a row to get it to enter bind mode. I'm curious to see which RTF this is, happy to help if I can!
