Oh my gosh - what an episode, life eh? Unpredictable. About 10 things crammed into a half-hour. Gibrraltar and monkeys and walking. Couldn't do the glass-way walk. Sandra's being very calm and collected, but we'll look forward to seeing her later, and the dogs, and also your friend. Beautiful camp up before the final one. Glad Sandra's van was fixed. I keep forgetting how small, and yet large and jam-packed Europe is. Enjoy your time, thanks for not throwing the camera and tripod onto the floor and having a pirate tantrum (which you never would) because First Mate Bonny is a good wee emotional anchor. Lookjng forward to more adventures. Sail on my hearties ❤
At the Skytower in Auckland, Newzealand, there is a toughened glass floor, i took photos through it of the traffic way below, a three year old was quite happily playing with his toy car on it, but as i skirted it, i actually felt sick. Glad you are all o.k.
Another great vlog. Did you know that, if the Germans had managed to take The Rock (during WWII) there were plans in place for some of the British Army to be walled up inside The Rock (with a year of supplies) to monitor what was happening in the area (such as counting numbers and types of vessels in the harbour). I saw a program showing the tunnels that were used during the Wars, and they are very extensive. "The rain left Spain and is accompanying Heidi again!". The caves were lovely. Narrowboaters have to get used to being dripped on in tunnels (but there are some that are 'damper' than others).
Breakdowns are less stressful with friends around and I'm a stressor (is that a word!!) Glass half empty me sigh. That's one thing about New Zealand lol you can only drive from the North Island to the South Island using the ferry but you are still in the same country lol. Take care loving this adventure. =-)

I've driven over that bridge into Portugal! We'd left it a bit late for Spanish lunch, which is something of an achievement. Portugal is in a different time zone...
Bummer about the van problem but at least it's a simple fix. I would have just stayed on the site you were at and have someone there help you phone around garages to see which one had the starter in stock. Maybe you just wanted to avoid paying fees for further days. I am in the middle of planning flights, train and car hire for a trip through Spain and Portugal. I could drive my own car all the way (from NE Scotland) but I prefer to fly South then journey on from wherever I can get a flight to from Aberdeen. Or Edinburgh more likely, as there are more destination options. Your trip to Gibraltar reminded me of a three week tour of duty there with the TA many decades ago. There was no gondola up the rock. It was walk or small minibus only. The macaque colony had a few who were very good at stealing food or other stuff from tourists, which I see hasn't changed. St Michael's cave had an army pipe band playing in it on my visit. Rod Stewart's 'Sailing' sounded terrific played in that natural theatre.
Sandra if you need anything done in Ireland let me know only too happy to help out. Live near Carrick on SHhannon but happy to take a trip out and about if it helps. Bonnie seems fine with the big dogs now and seems to be really enjoying her little self.

Must visit Gib and meet some of my ancestors 🐒. A great thing to do in Porto is to do all the Port tastings, the city itself is a bit too touristic now, but there are tours of the vineyards with tastings in the caves.

Have you had to get permission @ any of the countries that you have traveled thru so far to fly the drone? It seems that some countries are stzrting to put restrictions on our hobby

My mates van had dodgy startamotor and she used to put it in reverse and jump it as she turned the key she’d pull the clutch up and it would always start. Anyway apart from that yr adventures are looking amazing! ❤
If you get stuck with starter issue again you can bump start it . Tow the van put the ignition to the start position and neutral gear once you start moving press clutch drop it into second gear let the clutch out slowing and it should start if it's starter issue .

We had to move because of she couldn’t start it again breakdown wouldn’t come out to the same location anyway … plus we found a gorgeous beach 😄
