At 4:25- he's totally right. I was vegan for 17 years, then started eating meat and junk for a few years, and then recently went back to vegan. Wow that was so easy and look delicious and I’ve got everything to make it I thought the cookbook was gonna be a little difficult so I didn’t get it but you made it look so simple I can’t believe you cook I thought your wife did all the cooking you want me to just taste it now or make some give it a whirl thank you again have a question I was making the cow chips and I got your fry two bunches and I put the the oil in the sun and pepper and a red onions oh my god they were delicious with the cashew sauce but then I was so full I didn’t have room for the beans and mushrooms so can I do the kale one day and put onions and then the next day eat the beans in the mushrooms and then another day had the fruit so I can do the G bombs it just seems like so much to eat at one time and I don’t know my God he just ate the two bunches of kale and then I set up the next night I had the mushrooms with the beans oh my God I was so good so now I got to have no room because I’m doing one meal a day and it seems like I can’t seem to get everything in so I’m just eating a little small portions is that OK or do I have to just eat smaller portions of each to get it all into one for milk each day and not just each day something different like that like I had the Calendar onions and the cashew sauce that I had the beans and the mushrooms the next day and I’ll have fruit tomorrow OK let me know what you how I should be doing this portion control

Kim K Animals aren't good sources of nutrition, including wild game, bc they live in the same polluted world. Saturated fat n cholesterol. Teeny amounts of Omegas because they eat plants, so why not eat the plants? Algae is the best source, and fish only have it bc they eat what eats algae, so leave the mercury/arsenic/parasites fish in the stripped out ocean. Lab-grown algae is clean and the omegas are best quality. Nope I'm not selling it. I get mine called DHA at Walmart in capsules. Only good byproducts from that industry.
Idk the official nutritarian answer but consider this.... deer eat from the fields of corn & soybeans in my area. Since 99% of those crops are GMO then deer is also GMO. I grew up eating deer meat and I really like the taste of deer stew. Since learning about the risks of GMO's and glyphosate in those sources then I've stopped eating it.

Dates are way too sweet for me..This meal looks super delicious however it’s way too high in carbs for me my body reacts adversely with this much sugar and carbs
problem is the peanut butter. all peanut butter is roasted which is very very bad. roasted nuts are all bad. peanuts are a technically a legume but roasting them causes acrylamide
we , like dr Fuhrman, use non roasted organic, very easy......I think you're getting a bit too technical, don't go overboard, and use the "right amount', and then you'll be fine......not a big deal, focus on the real main points, not getting stuck on details.......or you'll just spin your wheels......

Not to mention from chewing on tobacco than on meat. Funny how exclusive meat eating societies don't have cancer. Not for the 2.5 million years of human evolution where your stomach became MORE acidic than that of an obligate carnivore, your house cat. And not for current day meat eaters on their traditional diet like the Inuit and Maasai. When do they get cancer? When they eat western food like bread, sugar, and plant based grains. As for amino acids, good luck getting the proper balance and amount from plants without overloading on inflammatory plant toxins in high protein plant based foods. Did you miss the part about bio-available? And your colon is too short to handle the grains and beans which humans didn't eat until about 10,000 years ago.
I urge you to check out The Blue Zones research by Dan Buettner...the longest lived cultures around the world eat mostly beans and whole grains....little if NO meat. Hey, stick to the meat if you want to...the SCIENCE says whole plant foods are best to ward off chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes...cancer...etc.
I read the book, but why are you ignoring the SCIENCE of physiology and biochemistry and pointing to a book about modern human eating habits? [the longest lived cultures...eat mostly beans and whole grains] And their brains are smaller than that of hunter gatherers 15,000 years ago who might easily live longer with access to modern medicine. [little if NO meat.] Only some of the BZ's. But if you actually read the book, the author concedes that he doesn't know whether the people live longer b/c of the little meat they invariably consumed (no plant-based only societies) or in spite of it. Eating whole plant foods meets that criteria. But if you want to eat like a chimp or an ape, you need the digestive tract of a chimp or ape -- and you don't have one. Your acidic stomach kills beneficial bacteria needed to digest plant matter, your cecum has atrophied and your colon is too short. You have the digestive tract of a carnivorous leaning omnivore. You might not get chronic diseases, but you'll be prone to leaky gut, IBS, diverticulitis, and other digestive disorders. Just watch the YT vegans complain about their digestive issues. Have you considered the possibility that the diets of ALL Blue Zones might be sub-optimal? After all, beans and grains are a lot cheaper and easier to store than meat so it's not really surprising that modern people living in temperate climates eat more of these foods. People have been eating this diet for 10,000 years. This is what gave rise to civilization but also to the decline in human health. Anthropologists can easily spot the introduction of agriculture in a region. Life span drops precipitously, stature falls, teeth rot, bones degenerate, etc.
Holly: And I wonder why... if you love that meat of yours so much. YT brought me here. Who said I love meat? I actually loved my plant based foods -- green leafy veggies, root vegetables, tofu, noodles, grains. Unfortunately, humans have the digestive tract of carnivores. I can't do anything about 2.5 million years of evolution. My cecum (and yours) has atrophied to nothing, and our colon is too short to ferment much of plant based food. We can't eat like gorillas or even chimpanzees. They split off 4 million years ago. Humans have only been eating grains for at most 15,000 years -- a blink of the eye in evolutionary terms. So reluctantly I eat what my body has evolved to be optimized for in terms of nutrition. Like your household cat or dog, humans do not do well eating a plant based diet.

You could but you want everything chunky so lightly pulse chop, and not too finely chopped or it will be too wet.

For Heart Disease,, I am concerned with the addition of the Peanut butter ... Unhealthy Omega 6.. Anybody.. anybody..?
You should avoid nuts/nut butters if you have heart disease.

My four-year-old grandson really liked these. I was wondering if wild venison is okay. I know he said small wild animals have omega-3. Wasn't sure about venison. I know this is not about meat but wondered if anyone would know the answer to this.

Animals aren't good sources of nutrition, including wild game, bc they live in the same polluted world. Saturated fat n cholesterol. Teeny amounts of Omegas because they eat plants, so why not eat the plants? Algae is the best source, and fish only have it bc they eat what eats algae, so leave the mercury/arsenic/parasites fish in the stripped out ocean. Lab-grown algae is clean and the omegas are best quality. Nope I'm not selling it. I get mine called DHA at Walmart in capsules. Only good byproducts from that industry.
Idk the official nutritarian answer but consider this.... deer eat from the fields of corn & soybeans in my area. Since 99% of those crops are GMO then deer is also GMO. I grew up eating deer meat and I really like the taste of deer stew. Since learning about the risks of GMO's and glyphosate in those sources then I've stopped eating it.
I’m on a ‘flexatarian” diet. Works wonderful.

When mixed with everything together, follow the recipe perfectly, you won't believe how great it is, and nothing is bad for you (unlike the burgers I used to eat Sunday football)

Probably helps keep it together. I would bet another nut butter would work just as well.
Cravings don't go away, just a bit more manageable, if you are a true American food addict, it is a constant lifetime battle, and the cravings do NOT disappear, you just battle them better-that's inappropriate information and bad medicine to day that....the patient needs to know it will always be a battle, but now you have the tools to accomplish your daily battle

Dates are way too sweet for me..This meal looks super delicious however it’s way too high in carbs for me my body reacts adversely with this much sugar and carbs

problem is the peanut butter. all peanut butter is roasted which is very very bad. roasted nuts are all bad. peanuts are a technically a legume but roasting them causes acrylamide
we , like dr Fuhrman, use non roasted organic, very easy......I think you're getting a bit too technical, don't go overboard, and use the "right amount', and then you'll be fine......not a big deal, focus on the real main points, not getting stuck on details.......or you'll just spin your wheels......

All that work to make a burger??? His skin would look a lot healthier if he ate a hamburger made with ground beef where the amino acids are more bio-available. The cholesterol would help too!
Amino acids are found in plant foods...where do you think cows & animals get theirs? Just saying...skip the middle "cow" and just eat the plants! Easy peasy! Red meats and processed meats cause cancer...not "may" cause cancer but they do!

LOL. Easy peasy if humans were foregut or hindgut fermenters like horses and cows. You try sustaining yourself on grass and unlocking the amino acids in the fiber you can't digest. Do you regurgitate your food and have 4 low-acidic stomachs?

Show me a biochemical pathway for causality. You are more likely to get cancer from the carcinogen, aflatoxin on your peanuts or corn. Not to mention from chewing on tobacco than on meat.
Funny how exclusive meat eating societies don't have cancer. Not for the 2.5 million years of human evolution where your stomach became MORE acidic than that of an obligate carnivore, your house cat. And not for current day meat eaters on their traditional diet like the Inuit and Maasai. When do they get cancer? When they eat western food like bread, sugar, and plant based grains.
As for amino acids, good luck getting the proper balance and amount from plants without overloading on inflammatory plant toxins in high protein plant based foods. Did you miss the part about bio-available? And your colon is too short to handle the grains and beans which humans didn't eat until about 10,000 years ago.
I urge you to check out The Blue Zones research by Dan Buettner...the longest lived cultures around the world eat mostly beans and whole grains....little if NO meat. Hey, stick to the meat if you want to...the SCIENCE says whole plant foods are best to ward off chronic illnesses like heart disease, diabetes...cancer...etc.

Only some of the BZ's. But if you actually read the book, the author concedes that he doesn't know whether the people live longer b/c of the little meat they invariably consumed (no plant-based only societies) or in spite of it.
Perhaps Buettner should have made himself aware of the fact that the Okinawans who lived longer and STRONGER also ate MORE meat and dairy.

Who knows how much longer Okinawans can live if they could afford to eat more pork which they love.
Not to mention, if they didn't eat meat, they would have serious deficiencies of B-12 and A, D, and K2.

Epi studies is not SCIENCE. And association is not causation. Maybe on a modern western diet, plants have some medicinal value. But the traditional diet, exclusive meat eating Inuit, Maasai, and Steppe Mongolians don't have modern chronic diseases of diabetics, cancer, etc.
What wards off chronic diseases is not eating modern processed foods. Eating whole plant foods meets that criteria.
But if you want to eat like a chimp or an ape, you need the digestive tract of a chimp or ape -- and you don't have one. Your acidic stomach kills beneficial bacteria needed to digest plant matter, your cecum has atrophied and your colon is too short. You have the digestive tract of a carnivorous leaning omnivore. You might not get chronic diseases, but you'll be prone to leaky gut, IBS, diverticulitis, and other digestive disorders. Just watch the YT vegans complain about their digestive issues.
Have you considered the possibility that the diets of ALL Blue Zones might be sub-optimal? After all, beans and grains are a lot cheaper and easier to store than meat so it's not really surprising that modern people living in temperate climates eat more of these foods. People have been eating this diet for 10,000 years. This is what gave rise to civilization but also to the decline in human health.
Anthropologists can easily spot the introduction of agriculture in a region. Life span drops precipitously, stature falls, teeth rot, bones degenerate, etc.

YT brought me here. Who said I love meat? I actually loved my plant based foods -- green leafy veggies, root vegetables, tofu, noodles, grains.
Unfortunately, humans have the digestive tract of carnivores. I can't do anything about 2.5 million years of evolution. My cecum (and yours) has atrophied to nothing, and our colon is too short to ferment much of plant based food. We can't eat like gorillas or even chimpanzees. They split off 4 million years ago. Humans have only been eating grains for at most 15,000 years -- a blink of the eye in evolutionary terms.
So reluctantly I eat what my body has evolved to be optimized for in terms of nutrition. Like your household cat or dog, humans do not do well eating a plant based diet.
