  • Lucille Ball was one of the greatest comedians of all time, and she was one of the first true TV stars, but despite her success, her life was always a difficult one.
    Ball’s father died when she was just three years old, and her childhood afterward was filled with traumatic incidents. While I Love Lucy was inspired by the real-life marriage of Ball and Desi Arnaz, their TV marriage was far happier than their real one, which was destroyed by Arnaz’s constant infidelity and drinking.
    Let’s take a look at some tragic things you might not know about Lucille Ball.

      @bobpierce115 3 года назад +4

      Good comment Edward. I think it's because the 70's weren't that much different than the 50's, especially looking back at both decades now. All 3 of her series were a product of their time, just as everything always is. The bottom line is that they're still funny shows now, with the vintage charm of those long gone decades only adding to the charm of them, and an further escape from our horrible, horrible present. It's a little like looking at old LIFE magazines from those decades. The older they get, the cooler they are to read!

    I never heard about her mother putting a dog leash on her. Couldn't she have been able to undo it herself, unless her mother tied her hands. Another thing that was not mentioned was that Lucy broke her leg when she was young, I think around 13. Even after it healed her leg bothered her to the point where she did not like to wear shoes with very high heels, although it didn't seem to affect her when she danced or did some of the other physical antics on the I Love Lucy shows.
