Maine Public presented the first televised debate between the three candidates for governor, live on October 4, 2022 from the Franco Center in Lewiston, Maine. Janet Mills (D), Paul LePage (R) and Sam Hunkler (I) took part in a debate moderated by Maine Public's Jennifer Rooks and Steve Mistler along with Penelope Overton of the Portland Press Herald. produced in partnership with the Lewiston Sun Journal and the Portland Press Herald.
