    I think it's fantastic to see so so many fish returned by angler's today .I'm in my 60s and when I look back with shame at the way fish were indiscriminately killed and wasted from greed with no thoughts for future angler's to enjoy , and this is pleasure angler's I'm talking about .The commercial side of it is another story, and I'll not go there as I would be here all day!!!.

    Inject oil in the baits like freshwater do pike baits, the little pinhole from the injection is a nice leaking point for the injected oil. No idea what I'm doing sea fishing wise as haven't been since a kid but the idea sounded good to me when he was chatting about smacking the bait about to release more oil

    oh yes that's great to see. bit late watching this week but thoroughly enjoyed it. I notice neither of you have back up motors, is that normal? thinking of taking my boat out of the broads and along the coast this summer. I got a Shetland 610, not ideal for coastal runs but it'll do it I reckon.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  7 лет назад

      Yes,I have the auxilliary mount,plus a brand new 4hp Yam wing engine.Never been used as once we get anything over about 8 miles out it will never get me back home anyway !! With 4hp the boat will only displace and that would eat up the fuel .Many people don't bother with an auxilliary for that very reason. I think its a personal thing.Some people have them,many don't.I'm now looking for a 12 foot boat just so I can use the 4hp engine pike fishing rivers.

    Hi totally awesome fishing I have a wilson flyer 17 also that I take out on the Bristol channel. I love watching your videos some lovely fish there fair play. has Wayne had his cab cut down on his boat? I have the six foot cab on mine would like to do a similar thing with mine

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  7 лет назад +1

      Wayne's original Wilson had a full cabin ,but it eats deck space. He now has a brand new one and has the quarter cuddy like mine but with a door.Gives lots more deck space.

    • @matthewfox9946
      @matthewfox9946 7 лет назад +1

      TAFishing yes I realy want the smaller cuddy love the boat but like you say I would love the extra deck space. was out today on the Bristol channel very quite but there was a few cod caught I'm looking forward to the summer months now so I can try out your advice with the chum and go for the tope 😁👍

    Great job guys. Why do you fish with the rod eyes up for sea fishing? Often wondered , bill.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  5 лет назад +1

      Because you generally have a multiplier reel that sits on top of the rod,as they wind clockwise with your right hand.If you had it under the rod you would have to wind with your left hand,and turn the handle backwards !

  • @jamesaritchie1
    @jamesaritchie1 7 лет назад

    This is just me, and no reflection on you at all. Several of my best friends, and some of my family think and fish just as you do, but I wonder if the fish would call it a sport? I never cared much for catch and release for this very reason. I catch fish because I prefer feeding myself whenever possible, rather than buying food at a supermarket. I also don't much care for letting someone else do my killing for me, and I don't much like the idea of using fish, or any other animal, just for sport. A very high percentage of released fish die. Up to fifty percent, in fact. That's a waste of both life and resources. Even when a fish doesn't die, I've run a hook through its mouth, or down in its gut, for nothing except fun. This is also a big part of why I don't like electronics. We call fishing a sport, and then we forget that "sport" is not short for "fun", it's short for "sportsmanship". There isn't much sportsmanship in using electronics to do so much of the work for you. But as I say, this is just my outlook on life. I do enjoy fishing and hunting, just as I enjoy raising my own vegetables. I simply have a different take on what it all means. I also love watching your videos. I guess part of it is that I do worry about the future. Where I live, fishing and hunting regulations are aimed more and more at the "sportsman", and are making it more and more difficult to fish or hunt because you want to feed yourself. I think this is a poor road to take, and doesn't bode well for even the sports anglers and hunters in the long run.

    • @jackmehoff2961
      @jackmehoff2961 7 лет назад +2

      I totally agree with you on using animals for sport. To put food on the table is one thing, using them for sport is another.
