- "I am Paul Jackman, aka Jackman Works. I am an artist, woodworker, and video creator located in coastal Massachusetts and most known for my nearly 400,000 subscriber RUclips channel Jackman Works, social media content, and, more recently, as "The Engineer" on my Netflix show Making Fun.
As a lifelong woodworker and maker, I officially got my start on Cape Cod at the Upper Cape Cod Vocational High School where I studied woodworking and carpentry. Upon graduating in 2009, I founded Jackman Works. At the same time, I went on to obtain an engineering degree from Syracuse University and the following year, began my RUclips channel. In 2016, I began working for myself full time, producing RUclips videos and other social media content based around my woodworking.
It all started in a tiny basement workshop, but I relocate frequently due to my wife's military career, and have had workshops in Boston's Northshore, Rhode Island, Washington D.C., and I'm now located back in Massachusetts. The barn that my shop is currently located in is actually owned by my old woodworking teacher from high school!
I can make anything, but I'm probably most well known for high-end reclaimed projects (often from pallet wood), oversized recreations of everyday objects, and satirical and irreverent build videos to go along with these creations. My fast-paced videos are meant for anyone, but I especially hope to inspire a younger generation to use their hands and just start making stuff.
Very few people these days are lucky enough to have the hands-on learning experience that I had, so I'm trying to pay it forward by translating what I know in to very easily digestible videos where people are entertained while they learn (whether they realize it or not) and often laugh at my own expense, usually on purpose" (excerpt from jackmanworks.com)

Favorite/weirdest Jackman project? Go!
The Nutcracker.
Obviously the manly leg lamp
Boot pez dispenser
Manly leg lamp. Best and weirdest.
Hard to pick a favorite with Paul, I'm going with the baseball chair. That was when I first started interacting with Paul. Then of course, things got bigger and weirder. Awesome work Justin!!!
MY PAUL!!! 😍😍😍
Thanks Justin. I'm trapped in a bedroom waiting out my second Covid of 2023 and catching up on the Call Me Mabie series. I may have met Paul Jackman at the Timber In (did I?). Anyway very funny and clever, even though I can't endorse his irreverence for the dead. OK, that was funny too.
I'm commenting for Jackmans feeling of self worth. You're weird, in a lovely way. Carry on.
Paul is a goofball AND and a genius. He is a very quiet and shy person when you meet him in person but, a lovely man who is very willing to share his knowledge and expertise if you ask. Great profile.
Great video Justin!!! 30 minute video so you like him more than some but not as much as others 🤷🏻♀️ 😂 seriously though, really enjoyed it!
Appreciate the mention in split timing on having Jimmy’s bandsaw cause I was really confused for a half a minute!!
Hahaha I told you I’m keeping them to 20 and here I am a week later putting out one that’s 30
@JackmanWorks is all natural and has NEVER photoshopped a picture of himself. How dare you ask such a question. 😂
Thanks for the shout out Paul And another job well done Justin! It's just so comforting to know that we're all so similar in the fact that we're all going to die one day. Love you guys
You and Paul with both die some day. I’m looking forward to Rojas cameos in every episode
@@CallMeMabie I will literally tag along just to hide in the bushes or act like I work for everyone 😂
Another great video, hopefully Jack and his RUclips channel work out for him.
Enjoyed the video, sorry to hear about his father.
Paul is definitely one of my inspirations for his persistence and pure comedy.
He’s the man! Thanks for watching, Dave!
I am a big fan of Paul. He is awesome.
Another great profile with a few little nuggets I didn’t know already! The barn shop has really come along but, my god, is that shop at school just incredible! 😍
Jackman, очень классные видео у вас! Смотрю с удовольствием! Особенно хорош юмор )
Great video Justin. I always liked the Wavy Shelf Accent Wall. As long as I don't have to dust it.
Hahaha I hadn’t thought about dusting it. Thanks for watching, Dean!
Justin, you did it again, great photography! Paul, I could listen to your stories all day, maybe someday we will! Love your content and sense of humor!
Thank you!! I appreciate ya!
Jackman is one of my favorite Makers, and one of my earliest follows. His projects are cool and his videos are super fun, leave me learning something and cracking up. Love how you are able to tell his story from your unique viewpoint. Favorite Jackman project? That's hard to say. The trebuchet he made with Zach is pretty awesome, but the giant wavy vase may be the most epic. Current status... Thanks for sharing!
Wonderfully shot. Great work. And of course, Paul is the best.
Thank you very much, Trevor!
So well done, really digging this series. Paul is such a good dude and great sense of humor.
I appreciate that! Thanks for checking it out!
Loved the video can’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers the videos are excellent keep up the good work
I totally agree with Jackman. Once you plane them down a bit pallet wood is beautiful. I made a barn door for our master bedroom and use pallet hardwood for the front skin. I ran it thru my planer and gave it S2S treatment keeping the rough edges. Looks awesome and a great way to repurchase pallet material.
Justin, saw the news about your GIGANTIC TV CONTRACT. All of your maker vids are fantastic, and it's amazing how you tune the tone of each one to the individual who's at the focus.
Yeehaw!!! Thanks so much buddy! I appreciate you checking these out and following along with what has been going on. Thank you for the support!
This definitely captured his great sense of humor and it totally vibes with direction you went with this doc. Very great work! Love it👍👍😎
Cheers! I appreciate it!
Another awesome documentary. So well done. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂
Mahalo for watching 🤙🏻
I’m loving these interviews. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for watching!
Great documentary! Very inspiring! Best Jackman project? I’m voting for the rap video featuring Pat Lap or possibly the rap video from Pat Lap featuring Jackman.
Danke!
I love these documentaries you do. Can’t wait for the next one. I’m biased tough, Jimmmy Diresta’s was by far your best. Keep ‘em coming
That Sawstop story at around 12:00 is crazy because Sawstops stop with a literal explosion. Hard to ignore that.
Looking forward to the day when Justin has as many subscribers as the makers he profiles.
Hahaha I appreciate that 🖤
Met Paul awhile ago at a wood working show , he stopped what he was creating and spoke with me for a long time . I actually started using pallet wood in my creations because of Jackman . I have a video from that wood working show where Nick @ techedfirman was looking for me and asked Paul had he seen me . The thing is I was filming Paul incognito creating and got the footage of Nick asking for me . Never realized until I reviewed the footage at home . I will send you a copy of it .
So great!
Thank you!
@26:45 wow. I knew Christina was tiny, but I never had a Jackman for scale.
Nobody over 40 allowed? LOL! Soon to be 55, developing software for mobile devices, laser cutter, running CNC off one of the many spare laptops I seem to collect.
Great interview and vid. FYI, your link to his RUclips channel is bad......
Thanks for the compliment as well as the heads up about the link. I went ahead and fixed it 🤙🏻
Wait, isn't this the guy who could totally play in the NHL if he wanted to, but passed on a contract with the Detroit Red Wings because a single season Netflix show was a better opportunity?!
Hmmm… I think I watched a game where Jim Jimmerson confirmed this
Yes! Well don’t, sweetheart.
That’s all I got…
I’m missing the reference but that doesn’t mean I don’t love you
@@CallMeMabie so cold. I still love you.
