*Tip* Paste it in MS Word (as plain text) then open find & replace window (Ctrl + H) and then in the find box type "^p" (without quotes) and in replace box type a space. This will replace all paragraph marker at the end of each line to an space giving you a complete paragraph write up. Google Docs doesn't do replacement of special characters.

A tip for copying the text (or any long string of text): select a little block of text at the beginning, scroll all the way down, and with your mouse hovered just past the end of the last word, hold SHIFT and click. It will select everything between your cursor and the previous selection.

Wow! Yes, this is exactly what I had in mind. I'm preparing for an upcoming trip to South America and wanted to brush up on my Spanish. While watching Spanish videos, having turned sub-titles on, I saw the need to extract the words pronounced by the speakers so that I could look up words I don't understand and learn this way :-) .. I could not begin to entertain the thought of taking down these unknown words on paper to then later, type them in a browser to look up their translation online!!
