I have so much respect for Lampard. He was one of the best centre midfielders to grace the Premier League and overall, he's a very clever guy who knows what he is talking about. And this is coming from an Arsenal fan.

Barcelona fan and I hated playing Chelsea back in the mid 00's. (happened allot) The way they broke the game down and recycled it quickly though Lamps used to cause our high defensive line nightmares. Those games were proper proper duels. Deco, Lamps, Messi, Ronaldiniho, Terry, Cech all had massive games.

thank you jamie @ 4:13. i hate when people ask someone to list their favorite players or toughest opponent, then when the person starts listing, the guy who asked the question starts mentioning names; i mean what if none of those names you're mentioning are his toughest opponents or he didn't want to list them, i really hate that shit. you asked him a queation, let him answer it, and don't use it as a chance to talk about your own best player. if he doesn't mention a particular name , you can always ask "how did you feel about this player or that player" .....simple interviewing skills smh. i liked that jamie called him out on that

    • @amazed66
      @amazed66 6 лет назад +18

Because sometimes when a player being interviewed is put on the spot and asked a question like that, they don't always list players that they might otherwise have done if that haven't thought of that particular player's name at the time. If you ask anyone to list in their view the best players ever and they mentioned Messi, C Ronaldo and Zidane then it will only be a matter of time before someone asks "what about Best, Maradona and Pele?"
Plus there's always been this whose the best from Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes question and it's impossible to give a definitive answer and gets a bit silly really when the likes of Carragher will say Gerrard, Neville will say Scholes and no doubt Terry would say Lampard because they all just choose their mate.
How do you even define "the best" anyway and people wouldn't even be able to agree on the criteria used, let alone who actually was the best.

You probably never watched him pal. The best player I have ever seen pull on a red shirt and maybe ever seen live period. I've seen Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Alonso, Schweinsteiger live against United and around Europe, and Scholes was the best. Always had time, never panicked. However, what ranks him above many others as a United Fan is the fact he is Mancunian, came through the Academy, and never played for anyone else. Those players simply mean more to any fanbase, not just United. Also, his demeanour, rejected the celebrity football image and just played, never had an agent, and was never tempted to play anywhere other than at Old Trafford. There is a simple class and personality there than can never be 'overrated', because it's priceless.

Always giving it his all unbelievable energy levels week in week out, season in season out. People just talk about the goals and how so many were penalties. Over 200 goals for the blues 💙 and no more than 50 were penalties. From LCM in a 4-3-3 most of the time not as a number 10.

Speaking as a man u fan , so i have no love for chelsea, lampards record is better than stevie g, and better than scholes , who i love, quite simply the best midfielder of his generation .

Basic goals and assists don't determine who was the better player, it's the most influential player and it's Gerrard easily, Alex Ferguson even said it.

Dant e No Fergie has always loved Scholes. I like Lampard , always have. The ultimate pro , never injured , no scandal etc. I’m a United fan. Lampard scored more goals as he took pens. About 70 of his goals were penalties!! Nobody could hit a ball like Scholes. It amuses me to see Stevie Me placed above Scholes. The former had no discipline to play in a proper midfield. All about him. Scholes was different gravy.

@@neilmoore5387 Yes Ferguson liked Scholes, of course he's going to praise his own player to the hilt just like he did when he stated that Gerrard was the most influential when he wanted him.
As you stated Lamps was great, knew how to be in the right place at right time to score and mentality monster to boot.
Scholes was immense at passing distances and short range possession passes.
Gerrard was able to do both and all things, the complete player. Scored goals, created then could pass like Scholes and ping pass short medium and long range better, was faster, could dribble, hit the ball harder, leader, could play in any position to a high level.
He proved he could play the Scholes role in his final 2 seasons and to a high level as he developed maturity to stop going forward to create attacks all the time as that was his natural style and drive earlier on.
He wasn't necessarily as great as Scholes in this role but he wasn't far off either as he had the passing ability. However he was better in all other areas including offensive midfield or the number 10 role but slightly further back.

Dant e Gerrard could hit the ball harder. You really gonna go down that route? You know that’s not true. Scholes shot was like a thunderbolt. Villa park after a corner. Boro straight from a corner. Bradford away ditto. Simply put Scholes was a genius. Started off as a striker then got deeper and deeper until we called him back from retirement and he could still boss a game at 36/37. Could Gerrard or Lampard? No they’d long hung their boots up by then.

@@neilmoore5387 Scholes could hit the ball hard, Gerrard was a Roy of the Rovers, he hit blockbusters and all of them are easily viewed, many more power shots than Scholes. He was the best in that area

Wish he stayed at West Ham but it wasn’t meant to be but at least he went on to become a legend and one of the best their is.
