True football fans will acknowledge great players regardless of club loyalty or nationalities. That is why I’m more than happy to say as a Spurs fan, Frank Lampard was one of the best PL players and one of the top England Internationals.
James Ferdinad - Campell - Terry Scholes Beckham - Lampard - Gerrard - A.Cole Owen - Rooney Why they never trying anything like this? Would be killer imo.
Wow, Lampard makes a point here that I've never heard before - that England players struggle to play together because they all play in the same league. Interesting theory and it kind of makes sense. Although I suppose a lot of Spanish players play together in Spain and they're not struggling to win tournaments (at least not a few years ago).
He's somewhat right... Spain ruled all the tournaments from 2008 - 2012 because all those who were in squad or playing 11 were either from Barca, Atletico or RM. Majority Barca.. They had the perfect sync. Look at them now.
I think the reality is, our players just aren’t good enough. If they were, then why don’t any of them get snapped up by Barca, Real Madrid, PSG? We need to copy whatever they’re doing in Germany, because they always have a killer team.
@@rorus9530 I mean they don't get snapped up one because those teams have a reluctancy to sign English players and two there are already plenty of good teams in the premier league, if you're English and coming through you're already in the best league in the world (in most people's opinions) Italians also mainly stay in Italy almost as much as the English.
3:57 Who's the best you played against in england in midfield? Frank: Stevie G, Roy Keane.....uhmm... Neville: is Scholes in there? Carra: Dont put words in his mouth 😂😂😂
4:30 you hear the love and awe in Frank's voice for Stevie. Everyone tries to make out like it's a bitter rivalry, but it's really the opposite. They're sort of in love with each other, and that's what makes the relationship so difficult.
Of course Lampard would say Gerrard. And so the other way around. If you're talking about one, you will also talk about the other alright. Such a pity England never had a decent manager that can make them play together~
You probably never watched him pal. The best player I have ever seen pull on a red shirt and maybe ever seen live period. I've seen Kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf, Alonso, Schweinsteiger live against United and around Europe, and Scholes was the best. Always had time, never panicked. However, what ranks him above many others as a United Fan is the fact he is Mancunian, came through the Academy, and never played for anyone else. Those players simply mean more to any fanbase, not just United. Also, his demeanour, rejected the celebrity football image and just played, never had an agent, and was never tempted to play anywhere other than at Old Trafford. There is a simple class and personality there than can never be 'overrated', because it's priceless.
erikson fucked england up so much, imagine having scholes as deep lying play maker and gerrard and lampard just ahead of him... WOW what a midfield trio
@@christaylor6502 pele played 50+ years ago.. Its barely professional standard to today.. Its illogical to compare the standard of then and now.. Pele is absolutely no where near top ten.. He scored most of his goals against litterly no one im surprised he didnt count his training goals
People always speak about Lampards goals and some even discuss his assists which are also incredible. What people forget is how very rarely he was injured how often he played the full game. Always giving it his all unbelievable energy levels week in week out, season in season out. People just talk about the goals and how so many were penalties. Over 200 goals for the blues 💙 and no more than 50 were penalties. From LCM in a 4-3-3 most of the time not as a number 10. Zidane was a better player than Lampard I'm sure most would say and I may agree but with everything that Lampard brings to a team he without a shadow of a doubt be in my top 5 Cm's that I have seen play 2000-2023
Pathetic really. They have Owen hargraves but he was never used at that CDM position where he plays for Bayern. England managers with their 4-4-2 formation is what costed them the WC.
Fair play calling out Gerrard as the best he's played against in England. Scholes amazing but the all round drive of Gerrard lifted the team and himself changed games, more so against the big teams.
with scholes sitting behind lampard and gerrard and rooney/owen upfront with cole and becks on the flangs england would of easily gone to semis/finals mybe win it SHAME THOUGH
+Mohamin cfc I think what they lacked is a top class local manager. National teams thrive best under good local managers, eg. Germany 2014(Loew), Spain 2010(del Bosque), Italy 06(Lippi), Brazil 02(Scolari), France 98(Jacquet), Brazil 94(Pereira), Germany 90(Beckenbauer). England never had such a manager despite having the players. These days they have neither the manager nor the players.
+Vaital V exactly with non-english speaking dictator Capello, nice guy Sven, the wally with the brolly, and Woy the owl add the exhausting breakless Barclays Premier League campaign its no surprise England haven't done well.
No way what Neville said gonna happen when the media and all the bullshit fans wanted Beckham to always be in the main 11 lineup. Really sad no manager are thick skin enough to do that because they are scared of the lash out from media and fans.
Speaking as a man u fan , so i have no love for chelsea, lampards record is better than stevie g, and better than scholes , who i love, quite simply the best midfielder of his generation .
Basic goals and assists don't determine who was the better player, it's the most influential player and it's Gerrard easily, Alex Ferguson even said it.
Dant e No Fergie has always loved Scholes. I like Lampard , always have. The ultimate pro , never injured , no scandal etc. I’m a United fan. Lampard scored more goals as he took pens. About 70 of his goals were penalties!! Nobody could hit a ball like Scholes. It amuses me to see Stevie Me placed above Scholes. The former had no discipline to play in a proper midfield. All about him. Scholes was different gravy.
@@neilmoore5387 Yes Ferguson liked Scholes, of course he's going to praise his own player to the hilt just like he did when he stated that Gerrard was the most influential when he wanted him. As you stated Lamps was great, knew how to be in the right place at right time to score and mentality monster to boot. Scholes was immense at passing distances and short range possession passes. Gerrard was able to do both and all things, the complete player. Scored goals, created then could pass like Scholes and ping pass short medium and long range better, was faster, could dribble, hit the ball harder, leader, could play in any position to a high level. He proved he could play the Scholes role in his final 2 seasons and to a high level as he developed maturity to stop going forward to create attacks all the time as that was his natural style and drive earlier on. He wasn't necessarily as great as Scholes in this role but he wasn't far off either as he had the passing ability. However he was better in all other areas including offensive midfield or the number 10 role but slightly further back.
Dant e Gerrard could hit the ball harder. You really gonna go down that route? You know that’s not true. Scholes shot was like a thunderbolt. Villa park after a corner. Boro straight from a corner. Bradford away ditto. Simply put Scholes was a genius. Started off as a striker then got deeper and deeper until we called him back from retirement and he could still boss a game at 36/37. Could Gerrard or Lampard? No they’d long hung their boots up by then.
@@neilmoore5387 Scholes could hit the ball hard, Gerrard was a Roy of the Rovers, he hit blockbusters and all of them are easily viewed, many more power shots than Scholes. He was the best in that area

Beckham - Lampard - Gerrard - A.Cole
Owen - Rooney
Why they never trying anything like this? Would be killer imo.
3 at the back wasnt a common thing back then, although that does look lethal
Scholes is defensively poor.
Completely idiotic. Rooney would be better than Scholes at that role and Ashley as a LMF and not Joe? Ashley isn’t a wingback.
To be fair, Scholes couldn't tackle for toffee and you need to be a Keane, Viera or Souness type to play that role.
@@FoobsTon pirlo couldn't tackle
Carra sitting there impatiently while Lamps is talking about Chelsea is too funny, guy can’t handle one minute without him talking about Liverpool
Sounds managerial... interesting. Unlike my hero Ryan Giggs who quite frankly doesn't.
Frankly haha
Timothy Frost Probably for the best, I'm sure Giggsy would bang a player's wife.
Timothy Frost frank has a very good Eye Q level
damn, and now he is Chelsea's manager.
How right you've been 👌👌👌👌
You could see that within himself, Frank Lampard is very humble and very to himself. Always keeps his head down and talk with knowledge and sense
Rory so you think that Gerard Lampard Scholes Rooney Ferdinand Terry cole weren’t players capable of playing in sides like Real Madrid or Barca?! SMH
Rory PSG?! Lol
PSG isn’t a top side
@@rorus9530 I mean they don't get snapped up one because those teams have a reluctancy to sign English players and two there are already plenty of good teams in the premier league, if you're English and coming through you're already in the best league in the world (in most people's opinions) Italians also mainly stay in Italy almost as much as the English.
1:21 - 1:23 : Carragher staring at Lampard in admiration
Remember.. he managed us first! Thanks Frank, all the best from this Rams supporter!
The only reason why i love Chelsea is because of this man right here. FRANK LAMPARD !! What a player 👏🏼
Chelsea will never have a player like him again. Absolute legend
Charming man. Credit to his family

Who's the best you played against in england in midfield?
Frank: Stevie G, Roy Keane.....uhmm...
Neville: is Scholes in there?
Carra: Dont put words in his mouth

Don't put wehrds in his mouth
How about some Toes????
Such elegance and so eloquent. I could listen to him for hours.

Yes you are
WHY ?
4:30 you hear the love and awe in Frank's voice for Stevie. Everyone tries to make out like it's a bitter rivalry, but it's really the opposite. They're sort of in love with each other, and that's what makes the relationship so difficult.
HE DIDNT KNOW HE WOULD COACH THE TEAM AT THIS MOMENT
Ive always thought he was real smart guy on and off the pitch. Great player and great person
"I though you helped Sven pick the team" Gold from Carragher
Tottenham vs Aston Villa 3-1 , for a moment I thought the interview was today. Time flies by real quick..
Crazy cooincidence
Love Lamps, a great role model.
Gary neville looks like a side man in this always trying to throw in a little bit in about Scholes
Of course Lampard would say Gerrard. And so the other way around. If you're talking about one, you will also talk about the other alright. Such a pity England never had a decent manager that can make them play together~
scholes is so overrated by united fans.
Zidane himself told that Scholes is the best midfielder. Who are you to even argue with that?
lol scholes overrated.... he's actually underrated
Who is watching after he became Chelsea manager?
My childhood idol growing up.💙
erikson fucked england up so much, imagine having scholes as deep lying play maker and gerrard and lampard just ahead of him... WOW what a midfield trio
It's a shame Gary Neville never got to play for England, he was a great player for Utd. Frank and Jamie were great for both club and country.
Chester Sykes he got 85 caps for England 😂
Lampard the biggest Chelsea player of all time said it : Messi is the GOAT.
Messi is the greatest after Pele.
Pity he wasnt good enough to win a world Cup!
@@christaylor6502 pele played 50+ years ago.. Its barely professional standard to today.. Its illogical to compare the standard of then and now.. Pele is absolutely no where near top ten.. He scored most of his goals against litterly no one im surprised he didnt count his training goals
JL Tom ronaldinho is the Goat
Unplayable on his best days and won every trophy there is
He’s a class act Frank Lampard on and off the pitch from an Arsenal fan
Messi the best ever, and Lampard knows that. Speaking straight facts
everything’s come full circle frank is chelsea manager now amazing
I think yaya Toure at his best was one of the best midfielder in the premier league, under rated player. Goals, dribbling, strength, vision
jamal jamal I agree mate I also think as crazy as it sounds James Milner is slept on allot also David Silva in the new era has been the best for me
People always speak about Lampards goals and some even discuss his assists which are also incredible.
Lampard knew he had to say Stevie G cause he was the best Midfield in the Prem for a couple years & a shout for one of the best in the world.
"Should we just go home here?". There's no need to chip in when Lampard is in the house xD
Cech, Cole, Terry, Lampard and Drogba 💙💙💙💙💙
Lampard's role in the victory over Barcelona cannot be overstated.
Lampard is one of the most underrated players ever!!!
NO no no , I don't agree....Good player but very bad manager...will win nothing at Chelsea .
Lampard is such a great guy, legend!
Scholes could never had sat behind Lampard and Gerrard, no defensive ability whatsoever they would've been ripped apart
in a 532 maybe
Pathetic really. They have Owen hargraves but he was never used at that CDM position where he plays for Bayern. England managers with their 4-4-2 formation is what costed them the WC.
Not Another Channel Name no wonder we were two players down. 😁

Ridiculous comment. Theres loads!
Fair play calling out Gerrard as the best he's played against in England. Scholes amazing but the all round drive of Gerrard lifted the team and himself changed games, more so against the big teams.
@Peder Hansen na you're clueless lmao Gerrard was by far the best Lampard and also Rooney said it and Rooney played with Scholes lmao.
with scholes sitting behind lampard and gerrard and rooney/owen upfront with cole and becks on the flangs england would of easily gone to semis/finals mybe win it
SHAME THOUGH
His goalscoring record is just outrageous for midfielder!!!
Wish he stayed at West Ham but it wasn’t meant to be but at least he went on to become a legend and one of the best their is.
