A lot of players have left Liverpool over the years, but very few have been more successful abroad than at Anfield. Most end to end up like Rush, Mane, Firmino or Coutinho. Maybe one good payday may make them happy but real footballing success remained elusive. For me the stand out successes were Suarez and McManaman, possibly Keegan. Of those 3, Suarez was already a star before he came to Anfield, Steve McM wasn't. Keegan's star glowed quickly and brightly at HSV, but he didn't match his LFC stardom at Southampton or Newcastle. There are so few about whom we say ''He was really good at Liverpool, but wow! Look at him now!'' Perhaps I'm missing someone who was big at LFC but bigger abroad, but someone may be able to say.
As Liverpool fan just enjoy the moments and live in real time, predicting the future is impossible so I don’t. Loving the session and whatever happens at end of season I will be happy.
the minute trent said he would choose winning ballon dor over other acolades in the future was a really weird as usually real madrid players win that so you can see where his head is at right now, his eyes are all star eyed to play for real madrid and with his mate bellingham
Of course Simon is right, this season's Premier League title is essentially Liverpool's to throw away which I hope they don't. Salah and Diaz are in great form this season, Gakpo is also starting to get some more goals and make good use of his height. Szoboszlai, MacAllister and Gravenberch are playing well in midfield. You have 2 great goalkeepers in Alisson Becker and the Irishman Kelleher. Trent, Konate, Robertson and Van Dijk are playing well at the back helped a lot this season with the appointment of Johnny Heitinga to the Liverpool coaching staff.
I honestly feel like pundits like Carra are helping to drive Trent away, any fan who would hold it against him for wanting to act on his ambitions of getting the plaudits he deserves after everything he's given to the club are delusional. Gerrard stayed too long and lost us a title

Liverpool played Madrid out the park, Liverpool is the best team in the world right now, he’ll be a legend in Liverpool and he’ll be just another player at Madrid
Mcmanaman is not loved at Liverpool. The example of souness and rush is not the same, they are not local to the city and loyalty isn’t expected. We also got fees for them. Trent to leave and we earn nothing is a disgrace on his part and the club. If Madrid want him they’ll pay big money for him in 2026, he should a sign a contract and then leave the following year, softens the blow with the club being able to reinvest
If trent leaves he will be remembered as a great player for us .. but wont go down as a legend like gerrard not a chance he will always be known as the local lad that left his boyhood club
My only concern with trent is that if he leaves for Madrid, I sincerely hope he doesnt do more bench time in his prime career years......a club like madrid isnt loyal to players.......many great players have had their careers stalled there.......as soon as the make millions from jersey sales then as a player you are pretty much expendable.....at LFC trent is almost a legend and is greatly valued......lets see how it unfolds
As a supporter of a club do you want your team to have more trophies .Or do you want to win another team more trophies.Macca and Owen left when Liverpool was poor .Liverpool is now as competitive as Madrid
🤔 Trents inconsistencies could be an issue with Real Madrids fan base, Liverpool are more loyal, probably because hes a local lad. In the end its down to Trent, risk or not. As for Liverpool, well Liverpool have some great kids on the bench, a strong academy and money to replace. If Trent does leave, i guess a more stable back line will come in play, rather than giving trent freedom because of his talented passing.
Yeah, Liverpool are going to walk this race. Chelsea need a refined no.9. Nothing against Nico, but he's not yet the finished article as shown against Everton. You have to bury those half chances as an elite no.9. It might do him some good to play as the substitute striker and learn his trade without pressure.
Tedious nonsense. In the late 60s The Beatles were accused of "turning their back on Liverpool", presumably because they weren't living in a semi-detached on Princess Drive in West Derby, or Stainer Close, prostrating themselves to the Scouse collective.
Got to laugh at the media it hasn’t effected Liverpool the 3 players contract situation but I guarantee if we lose a game and 1 of them play bad questions will be asked… desperate rats
Before y'all come for Simon's everyone is fit comment. What he really meant is that everyone that matters is fit. This means Salah and VVD are fit. Take any of them out, Liverpool would suffer
Liverpool should switch Salah to centre forward when he eventually slows down..three year contract. Virgil is a rolls Royce, will be same in three years
Look, at the end of the day, it's Trent's life. If he goes, he goes for it own reasons. Say what you like about what it means for him and his legacy at Liverpool, but as a man, he's free to make his own decisions. If anyone said otherwise in a non footballing context, that'd be the most petty and childish person on the planet. So let's all grow up a bit here. He's free to make a call and he will. Massive Liverpool supporter here by the way, watched Gerrard nearly leave the club and all that went along with it. But calling it as I see it Also, he won a PL and CL title. He'd not be leaving us high and dry here.
I'd hate to lose TAA on a free. But ultimately for all his brilliance going forward, he is still a major liability or risk at the back. I'd be happy to go with Bradley and Gomez for now and get a top class back up for Bradley longer term if TAA is determined to leave. I think Liverpool fans will hold a grudge against him. I think Carragher is right on this. McManamen and especially Owen are not as loved as they probably should be, because they left (very average) Liverpool teams. TAA will judged as harshly as Owen (who joined Utd) because he is potentially walking away from a team that could be anything and he is as likely to achieve everything he wants to without having to move. I think quite a few fans would see that as more of a betrayal than ambition.
I think it's a shame the likes of City, Arsenal and Utd are not firing consistently well as it would be more of a test of how good we really are. It will be interesting come February/March when Real Madrid tend to gain momentum in Europe, and if we face them again, how well we fare against them. City are not the same team, performance wise. They look wrecked after 6-7 years of crazy consistency and machine like winning. Arsenal are not consistent and Chelsea are our main rivals at present but defensively they are easy to score against and they are a young inexperienced team. We are in a blessed position, for sure and we need to keep advantage at that situation. But, there is a long way to go. Lots of football still to be played. If we are still top end of February early March then we can talk of the title.
As a man utd fan that hates liverpool lol why dont they all stay togther win his league and if next year they dont win it go other clubs doesnt every player just want to win things and give there all ???

If trent leaves he will be remembered as a great player for us .. but wont go down as a legend like gerrard not a chance he will always be known as the local lad that left his boyhood club
This is exactly the sort of sentimental BS that Simon Jordan was talking about.
Chelsea honestly looks the real deal , just need to replace sanchez and captain that would marshall it.
Klopps team didn't have a number 6 Simon keeps leaving that bit out he doesn't want to give any praise to slott
You see the pain in Simon’s eyes 😂🤣
You have to laugh at tottenham
Its laughable that tottenham used to be a top team
Who do you support princess
When was that?
My only concern with trent is that if he leaves for Madrid, I sincerely hope he doesnt do more bench time in his prime career years......a club like madrid isnt loyal to players.......many great players have had their careers stalled there.......as soon as the make millions from jersey sales then as a player you are pretty much expendable.....at LFC trent is almost a legend and is greatly valued......lets see how it unfolds
Long way from the end of the season. We are going to hit a bump all teams do. All to play for .
I would be surprised if any decent team struggles to score goals against this Spuds defense. NF could easily score 4 or 5 goals in the next game.
Michael Owen is the best example. He went to Real Madrid but he will always be Liverpool legend
Liverpool legend ?? Not sure about that
You having a laugh
Simon shows in all discussions what an opionated and self absorbed person he is.
MARTIN PUTTING SIMON A SLEEP 🤣🤣 YAWN
Liverpool now is a different team to what mac mannaman and Owen left he should stay .
Did we not win the champions league the year Owen left
@mic7536 we did yeh but you can't say we aren't a better team now. we couldn't challenge for a league title then we were a cup team unfortunately .
Lol wut?
Martins notes - remember to pick up stamps for Xmas cards
Got to laugh at the media it hasn’t effected Liverpool the 3 players contract situation but I guarantee if we lose a game and 1 of them play bad questions will be asked… desperate rats
Before y'all come for Simon's everyone is fit comment.
What he really meant is that everyone that matters is fit. This means Salah and VVD are fit. Take any of them out, Liverpool would suffer
No matter what he does, he will be a liverpool legend just like the rest who won us the title.. facts
YNWA
They look more like the Klopp team that won the league; that team had the most control out of all the Klopp teams.
Agree that Salah slalom and strike the bar wa a warning sing to FSG and opps. He is back to the salah of old.
😂😂 Got him in his bits
Is this any suprise if it wasn’t for a supernatural city this team would have won 4 or 5 league titles not just the one
What about michael owen. He left liverpool and now he is not very liked in liverpool?
I can just see it now, Liverpool win the league and all people will be talking about is how bad the other teams were so of course they won it!
Liverpool should switch Salah to centre forward when he eventually slows down..three year contract. Virgil is a rolls Royce, will be same in three years
What are these goofballs even writing on their little notepads lol its hilarious! It really looks like they are pretending to be scribbling notes
What an analysis by Simon at the beginning
Look, at the end of the day, it's Trent's life. If he goes, he goes for it own reasons. Say what you like about what it means for him and his legacy at Liverpool, but as a man, he's free to make his own decisions.
If anyone said otherwise in a non footballing context, that'd be the most petty and childish person on the planet. So let's all grow up a bit here. He's free to make a call and he will.
Massive Liverpool supporter here by the way, watched Gerrard nearly leave the club and all that went along with it. But calling it as I see it
Also, he won a PL and CL title.
7:12 well, he talks like he ever had a football career. that's kinda worse.
Moreover Liverpool will get even better as Slot embeds his philosophy into what he wants implemented more and more. Interesting times at Lfc.
20 mill at 5 years is 100mill over the contract. Simon is a plum
Wtf is keown writing down
Well said Simond no bias!!!
I've grown very fond of Mr. Jordan but ffs man, you're a professional broadcaster sat there yawning while others speak. Suck it up and show some respect.
