Carra is right but I don’t think he articulated it well enough (in my opinion). We love that Gerrard stayed. We love it because we weren’t the greatest team when he was around and we knew that he’d win a lot more at another big club. But he stayed anyway. He stayed because to him loyalty to Liverpool meant that it was okay if you didn’t win as much as you could have because at least you stood by your own. He sacrificed individual accolades in return for an undying bond with a single club. If Trent leaves, it’ll be a lot worse than if Gerrard had left. Unlike Gerrard, Trent would be leaving a great team, one that is capable of winning trophies.

The contract issue lies with FSG and FSG alone, they should have taken action last year before Klopp had informed the world that he would be leaving. Why are they not putting extension options of a year like with Man U and others that are able to extend a contract. For all of FSG's good work the contracts situation of TAA, VVD and Salah is an embarrassing oversight and someone needs being held accountable. In light of where we are FSG put your hands in your pocket we need a No 9 (Isak looks perfect) and a left back is urgently required (Robertson and Tsimikas are not up to the required standard)

If Spurs attack is very good, they've scored the most goals this season in the prem and have the 4th best GD. If they add a top quality GK and a CB in the Summer, like a Bastoni, Tah, Schlotterbeck and then this Spurs team can absolutely challenge regularly for Top 4 again.
Gerrard could have walked off into any team and won any trophy he wanted, and at times, I wouldn't have blamed him. Because we were that bad. He would have offered years off his life to play with this team and manager in this way for a few seasons. To leave in this moment on a FREE would be crazy.
Sign the contract, stay a couple more seasons (why wouldn't you) and if it doesn't work out, ask to be sold, and we can at least then understand it.

Liverpool have let Wijnaldum, Firmino, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi, Milner all left for free. The ones we re-coup a little bit was Fabinho, Mane, Minamino, Henderson.
