Even if he could, he was right to field-in the strongest team then, as Carabao seemed to be the only chance for Spurs to get any silverware this season. That would be his primary target, and the league match against Liverpool would have been his lesser priority.

Liverpool fan here,game could have been different or harder for Liverpool, if any manager for example from Bournemouth, Brighton,forest ,Everton and more .could have set that avaliable spurs squad up, to be difficult to play against .especially with spurs options up front if it was still game on with half hour left.
I like Ange. Yes Spurs have tons of injuries and no depth and all the players are exhausted. It’s up to the manager to protect those players. You can’t play the same system as if you have full strength players on the field. Playing a system where Dragusin has to track back like he is VandeVen with 1/4 of his speed is asinine. If he refuses to slightly tweak his tactics then you might as well have Abbi on the touchline after giving the pregame instructions.

There are three teams in this league you DO NOT give space too and that is Liverpool ,Arsenal and City. Those teams are extremely quick in transition in getting the ball from front to back and will carve you apart. There is a reason why when these three teams play against each other they try to cancel each other out.

Porro, Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski, Son and Solanke are starting 11 players, so you had a reserve keeper and 3 defenders. When Arsenal were at home to Liverpool we ended with a back line of Party, White, Kiwior and Lewis Skelly and Odegaard was also out. But we were upset that we didn't win our game. Face facts, if you had your first choice defence out Liverpool would have still battered Spurs last Sunday.

People forget Liverpool were in a similar situation like spurs when we had our two kids as CBs Henderson and Fabi and we had Milner, chamberlin and Keita as mids and we still didn't concede that many goals at home

Liverpool had 2/3 of the 1st team players injured in 2020/21, a season after winning the PL. Henderson & Fabinho played CB, they got injured and academy players played CB. And, yet Liverpool finished 3rd that season when they were not given any chance to finish top 4.
Its about how the manager adapts to the situation, change tactically, change the playstyle. Not being adamant with only way that you feel fit for all size.

Let’s see what happens with their 3 best players at the end of the season. These things go in cycles. Spurs have lots of promising youngsters, need more time to grow.

I am a Liverpool fan. Actually, I think Abby is partly right. The injuries suffered by Spurs at the moment prevented Ange from rotating the players in the Carabao Cup match against Manyoo. Even if he could, he was right to field-in the strongest team then, as Carabao seemed to be the only chance for Spurs to get any silverware this season. That would be his primary target, and the league match against Liverpool would have been his lesser priority.

It doesn't matter who you're playing as a Premier League club you shouldn't be conceding 6 goals at home to any opposition. If Ange decided to play a low block and get 9 behind the ball and frustrated Liverpool and somehow managed to get away with a 0-0 or a 1-1 Ange would've been lauded for a tactical masterclass. 1 point at home to Liverpool could be the difference between Tottenham playing Europa League or Conference next year that's how tight the margins are.
The first goal is very important. Once LFC scored the first goal, Spurs tend to open up more and more spaces for LFC to exploit.
