Hi Bob from Insydium! Thanks for this tip. Could you explain how to use this ocean as a surface which could interact with some objects, for example a boat, or a ship. Could objects react on moving mesh to stay on surface of the ocean?
@@hotzenmonster I wouldn't expect the update to do much in terms of foam for deformed meshes like in this case. xpFoam works with particles and not meshes. However, you can already have xpOcean generate a vertex map with foam data and you can use that to add a foam layer in your water material.

Hi, You can use the techniques from this Top Tip, on large areas (as big as your CPU can handle) to create oceans that are not repeating and waves that are at the scale of large oceans. If you need further assistance, please ask this question on our Discord Server. discord.com/invite/X2zYY7qEyr -Thanks
@@INSYDIUMLTD I would expect some sort of solution to the absolute need for real world problems for a large scale infinite ocean and not to send your clients to see how fast they can break their pc with your plugin. and by the way it break very fast when you go big... for now its just useless ...
@@INSYDIUMLTD I tried it on a plane of 10 km x 10 km (i.e. 100 square kilometers) and 25 million polys (5,000x5,000 segments). It did not work (repetition was clearly visible)
I'm running build 895. Where are you getting this ocean material? 4:17
Thanks for adding info about how to loop 3:54 and hide repetition 4:30 as those would be a motion designers first two questions :D
+1
That's a cool technique! Thanks for making this video.
4:19 How can I get ocean material? Do I need to download it personally?
Man, me and Bob are in sync these days. These are handy, and topical
Just amazing and clear explanation.. thanks Bob
Damn, I needed this technique two months ago! Haha, oh well.
great tutorial bobBot, but how do we scale this up at the environmental scale aside from using a cloner with a fields to blend the edges
Brilliant, thanks Bob!
Awesome!
Longest top tip tuesday video so far, new record.

u could use modifiers or xpresso
Add a function to the ocean function to make waves in response to the boat.
that is cool. but would love to have a longer version talking about waves and foam and other addon’s that would really sell this..
wait for the new fused release in July. Should make foam/etc much easier.
