Creating a ocean in C4D is easy, right? but what about if i told you we could create an ocean with extruding foam which looks photo realistic and that's also subject to animation, lets get into it! Check out some of my other tutorials and subscribe!

yes but how would you make the textures procedural ?
Thank you so much! The tutorial is simple, yet the result is awesome. I love it.
Thanks man!! :)
TRIED DOWNLOADING THE TEXTURES BUT COULDNT,CAN YOU UPLOAD THEM AGAIN ?
Excellent. I have been working with UNREAL for almost four years, and the water, for as good as it is, doesn't quite cut it. Your foam, example was great, and the work flow is very close to UNREAL. I also have hours of real ocean footage , and bays, and coves, and I have yet to see ANY of the Hi-END, render engines come close to the REAL thing. Wind-driven waves, are very dynamic, and I have yet to re-create them in UNREAL. Maybe vary the shape, over a time line? I haven't tried to adjust things , using a time line, so I don't know if that works? I have used VUE, in the past, and making those changes, over time, are doable, but are totally impractical , and are limited to a 2 D rendered product, that takes literally days to render, even while producing a short animation. Thanks for your tutorial. WELL-Done.
omg I was looking for realistic water materials but i couldn't figure out how to make one on my own :o thanks this helped me a lot in my school project!
No problem at all! Glad I could help!! :D
Thank you! learn a lot from this tutorial
Awesome Tutorial man! Keep it up :)!
Thanks man appreciate it! :)
Very awesome tutorial indeed!! (Please consider speeding things down doe, its really hard to tag along when u're flying through shortcuts, etc.etc...) Other than that, great stuff.
It's amazing.
Nice One, simple and straight to the point
Thanks Sketchy! Appreciate it!
Thanks!
thank you so much for this tutorial sir
Would be great if you could do a similar tut with the Hot4D plug-in with Octane please?
100%, that's a great idea, I never considered that due to there already being a few tutorials out there, but Potentially mixing this tutorial's attributes with hot4d could justify some pretty mean results? I'll look into it man! keep checking my channel it might just be up within a week or so :)
Nice tut!
Looks great! Few weeks ago I made something similar with Redshift. I think, now only Octane and Redshift can give fast and good results.
can you show us a tutorial on redshift ?
thank u so much.your files helps a lots
Thanks, bro... This is super useful
amigo que gran contenido. lamentablemente la s texturas ya no se pueden descargar
Thanks man! Great tutorial :)
amazing man thankyou
Thanks, really helped a lot!
Great job !
Thankyou! :)
Instead of an ocean, I made Antarctica!
muy buen trabajo!
Cool....
The links for the textures is unvaible bro
Thanks a lot .
Thank you :)
nice bro
hi is it ok to use it with the texture for a commercial use?
Cool! thnx.
please update water texture link
Is there a version of octane render for R17?
Yeah of course! I have tons of plugins for R19 I haven't been able to bring to R20 so sometimes I put octane back in my R19 folder and use it lol.
do you known how to make bow wave in water material,it's confuse me many days
i mean in octane material, not in c4d material
you know that the IOR for water is 1.35 or 1.33 right?
Moiwz Yeah! which is why I kept it around there but because we where mixing it with textures I cut loose a little to get a result that suited my scene better, it wouldn’t be detrimental to the result whatsoever in this case!
Ye sure heres a link: refractiveindex.info/
Use that a lot bro it helps a lot! Sticking to the guidelines doesn't always justify the best result though ;)
Lol 1o clock in the morning
hey man, so ive followed every step but mine doesnt even look close like yours prntscr.com/j0g0v1
maybe u have an idea to fix?
Is the plane extruded? if it is and that isn't it try some differant HDRI's to see what looks best as well as playing with the absorption and scattering density!
Also, plug the disp map into the disp channel of the mix material. Octane will just ignore it if it's inside one of the material's themselves!
Sketchy yes it is extruded, ty i will try the rest
Okay great, best of luck! just edited the response// meant the disp channel on the mix not the amount lol!
Sketchy yea but i mean, the disp aint no problem and stuff, but i dont get the foam (even with other hdris)
Maybe play with the gamma of the foam textures on the diffuse mat? it might be blending in with the color of your water!
а где результат?
I can hear a thing, your audio is way too low, although this tutorial looks really nice.
👀
wtf did he say at 2:22 ?
Make it editable ;)
why does it look so unclear? prntscr.com/kba8i1
TheCreanex-HandyAccount either your focal depth is off in the imager or the displacement isn’t at a high enough resolution :)
Sketchy ok wait i check
Sketchy oh my focal deph was off XD Thank u
I m not looking for this
Bro what happened to you on xbox? - Aesu
