So I had to share I fell in love with Ivria, but my hubby and I were playing around with spellings and pronunciations and landed of Avria. We looked it up and it's a name in its own right and the meanings are precious. In Hindi it means bright and strong and in several other traditions it means tomorrow! How perfect is that for a baby right now! Just to be clear I'm not expecting. Hubby and I just bond over naming our hypothetical future children.

She was born the day before yesterday, on Sunday, November 15, 2020.
We just got discharged from the hospital this afternoon.

I will post a special video to my own channel this weekend making the official announcement. "Sanjana" means "gentle, tender and merciful". We will normally call her by her middle name. "Shafali" means the "Coral Night Jasmine" flower.
Shaharazade is a name famous for the Persian Queen from the Arabian Nights stories.
It means the "Queen married to the Shah, or King", and also can mean the "Lady of the Free City".
It resonates so well with me because I am a very big advocate for Women's Rights and
Breaking the Glass Ceiling!

For me I love names that CAN'T be shortened or have a nickname, growing up it was really weird how my legal name was Aman but my parents and family never call me that and it's so weird. It's really hard finding a balance between modern yet paying homage to more cultural names

I have a great idea for a video! People love to name their children after loved ones. What if you collected a list of names from people and used those. For example, I had a brother "Brandon" pass away that I'd love to name a child after without directly using his name. Seraiah, is not from the Old Testament. Can you tell me where it is in the Old Testament, where is was commonly a name for males then now slowly transitioning to females? I’m curious myself. Because it’s from the Book of Mormons.
I’m a bit torn bc I like the name but I’m not Mormon. Also, what’s your source on these names and meanings and origins?
You’ll find Seraiah in: Samuel, Kings, Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Jeremiah. It’s not just one figure, there’s many (for ex. The father of Ezra the scribe & the father of Joab were both named Seraiah). Also, I’m not familiar with the book of Mormons but it could be in there as well.
And as for it being more a males name then made its way on both side, it was male biblical figures names, and now data from the actual naming stats for the world shows it’s rising for both genders, as for many biblical and non biblical names.
There are a lot of really usable names on this list that could totally become more popular in the future!
