I’m currently 7 weeks pregnant and we have had a girl name picked out for a couple of years now but am really are struggling to find a boys name so this list does really help. Wonder if you could do a list of Arabic names that sound similar to some western names or ones that are easier to pronounce in western society. I live in England and I find that the biggest struggle, I find girls names fit into both cultures much easier than boys names.

My dads name was Bear and I felt like I didn’t want to just use Bear in honor of my dad who passed in 2018 because it is a hard name to live up to. My dad was memorable, well known, and one of a kind. Not saying my baby wouldn’t be but I just feel like there can only be one Bear in my life which was my dad. So I found the name Barrett in 2019. I felt it could be an option. I looked for names that had Bear in it or in the meaning and it was one of the only ones I found that weren’t too out there for me. I like unique but not names that are too out there/bold. I am not pregnant and don’t have kids but that is something I know I will do is honor my dad in some way even if it’s the middle name that honors him.

Lots of new names and new inventions to names are slowly coming about, I get it, but I also get why it can be a big wake up call or hit from left field when you’re used to growing up with the “traditional” names! All names are great so I just am thankful that everyone is doin their own thing!

It's nice. Just as someone who grew up with the last name Dick I know a thing or two about being teased for a name (I wasn't bullied but you know), and I feel like Little would definitely be one of those names someone would get made fun of for. Kids can be cruel, I wouldn't want to risk it. Same with names like Baby, I cannot see that as a name and don't understand why anyone would choose it, so it's not just Little for me. Just imagining the teacher calling you Baby gives me the creeps. Each to their own though, I'm definitely not trying to hate on anyone who likes these names. In the end it's their child, not mine, and the parents have to pick what they feel is right 🙏🏻❤ I don't have to like or understand it - not my kid, not my choice. I just personally cannot get behind these types of names or any names that some people also use in a sexual way (Little, Alpha, Omega, Baby, etc.) because that is my personal first association (obviously, with Baby that association only comes when I think of what people would say to their name once they're older, not as a baby, but we should definitely think about whether the name works in their teens and adult life as well, not just as a toddler).

Just as someone who grew up with the last name Dick I know a thing or two about being teased for a name (I wasn't bullied but you know), and I feel like Little would definitely be one of those names someone would get made fun of for. Kids can be cruel, I wouldn't want to risk it.
Same with names like Baby, I cannot see that as a name and don't understand why anyone would choose it, so it's not just Little for me.
Just imagining the teacher calling you Baby gives me the creeps.
Each to their own though, I'm definitely not trying to hate on anyone who likes these names.
In the end it's their child, not mine, and the parents have to pick what they feel is right 🙏🏻❤ I don't have to like or understand it - not my kid, not my choice.
I just personally cannot get behind these types of names or any names that some people also use in a sexual way (Little, Alpha, Omega, Baby, etc.) because that is my personal first association (obviously, with Baby that association only comes when I think of what people would say to their name once they're older, not as a baby, but we should definitely think about whether the name works in their teens and adult life as well, not just as a toddler).
