- Hi im Jp and with my Partner Karina we will be going over basic steps to cumbia de vuelta, we go threw 3 basic steps, Basic step for cumbia, corners, and foundation. I know these might not be what others call them but here on my page its what I call it. lol
I hope you find this video helpful bc I really want to see more people dancing and not just hopping or walking around the dance floor.

Man, as a woman I was always so frustrated with myself not knowing how to dance at parties and just sitting down doing nothing. But I just went to a 15 and decided to get up and dance with some basic tips from my cousin and it felt SO GOOD. I danced at my grandma's house the next day and I was so happy. Now I'm trying to learn more.
Same boat.. that was (hella) fun.

Try getting heels 2 sizes larger and putting inserts. Also depends on the shoe, high heels can actually be quite comfortable
It's easier to dance with heels especially for the turns...
I'd have to have 911 on standby with heels like dat! I have trouble playing hopscotch! U guys are very patient, make it easy, n funny thank u. I'll leave the dancing to u!!

I know I'm taking a while on making the videos but I don't have anyone right now to make them that's why I haven't posted any! It's hard finding people who would practice with you !!

My wife (from Mexico City) says "You have to feel the music" I have danced many times with The Cumbia Queen (my mom) growing up but she never showed me how to dance using my "hands". So as I am "feeling the music" listening to none other than Selena. I dance in rhythm without "hands" and I feel more free, but when it comes to using "hands" hips and feet I have to really "Pay Attention". My wife is a really good dancer. Cumbia and Salsa. After 20 yrs. I still don't feel totally confident. She still leads but makes it look like I am. Freestyle I am good (so they say). I appreciate this video. I won't stop trying.

I’m grateful my dad showed my brothers and I how to dance when we were kids , he said if you get a bf or gf and you don’t know how to dance your partner will be bored and sad sitting down at the table watching others have fun... so you have to learn how to dance

This Cumbia basic learning video is absolutely great ! I enjoyed your honest humility to help the greater whole learn to dance this basic Cumbia step’s. I enjoyed the work in self - explanation of the dance steps. Coupled with great length in the practice explanation steps and the close ups on the feet. I’d really like to see more dance instructional videos. I noticed the last video was dated 4 years back. Just one step at a time ;).
