You explained it in a way that even my uncoordinated ass could pick up the basics
Your tutorial is entertaining, easy to understand and enjoyable. Thank you for sharing.
OMG you guys are fierce! And the best part? This is FREE!!!! Really good instructors. Me and my Chavalla can finally dance the Cumbia with talent thanks to you!!! Many heart emojis
My main problem is confidence. I practice the steps & when I think I have them down, I doubt myself and over think it in the process, then I think look like an idiot.
I’ll work on both.
My dancing & confidence.
You can do it! Best of luck to you.
I absolutely look like an idiot. A very happy idiot. I dance for joy not for show....but would obviously like to improve since I'm here. Good luck to you :)
I love that you do the whole steps together at the end with music
love how you teach, not alot of talking just teaching. I learned to dance watching your videos. keep making videos. You know how to dance guaracha? teach that style. I love to see that on your next video.
WOW! Thank you so much for this dance tutorial!🕺🏾💃🏽 I needed this! I am from Sacramento, California and will be making my first ever trip to Colombia this December 2022. My Spanish tutor lives near Bogotá and has been helping me learn more about Colombian culture. However, I will be traveling to Santa Marta and am excited that I came across this video to help me on the dance floor. 😁
¡Todo el camino desde Sacramento, California: muchímas gracias por tu lección de baile! 🤗
Cuídate mucho y bendiciones. 🙏🏾😉

I have a Christmas party tomorrow and I'm busting out my new Cumbia moves lol, my step father is going to love it!!😂 I need to break out of my salsa mentality though..ugh.. it's hard to switch from doing salsa all my life. But im going to do it damn it 💃
BEST Cumbia tutorial on the internet--great teachers! Thank you!
I'm waiting on part 2. This is good :D
Easy steps, good teachers! Thank you from Hungary!
I saw "dancing Cumbia" and I wanted to see what it was. You guys do a great job of showing me. What great rhythm!
I've two left feet, but this tutorial had me doing the Cumbia. He can really teach!!
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing!
Very helpful, would love more cumbia tutorials.
great dancers & great moves!!!!
thank you for posting!
you two are great.
Very nice simple n easy to follow 😍❤️
Great video, very easy to understand. I watched it yesterday and then put it in practice last night on the dance floor at a local venue. I especially like the side step with the accent!
OMG I always dance cumbia (and salsa) solo because I fear I'll make a partner give up on me, so thank you for assuring the basic gentleman's code for when he is to introduce the next step to me (never knew that) And... the bleeps are too funny, thanks, Mellie!!!
Waiting on part two! 😁
Hi, cumbia dance teachers you are both wonderful teachers and dancers! I say bravo to you both cumbia teachers! thank you for sharing the steps on how to dance cumbia! 👍💞🙂
Best video!!! I can finally dance cumbia!
Fantastico and sharing!
Excellent detailed instructions!!!!! Thank you!
So cumbia is like salsa and bachata together?
1) Salsa-- many dances have quick quick slow or slow quick quick varyations, like salsa & urban Cumbia, (rural version
has different everything)
Salsa has unusual additional
problem- some people have music count 1 & dance count
at same time, BUT advanced
salsa dancers slso vary thus
so dance count 1 can start on music count 2, 3, or 4. WHY ??!!
The dance is hard enough with
both counts’1at same time
2) Bachata basic has both on 1
but at start, uses4 slows - step close!1,2 ,1,2!to left, reverse repeat to left or vice versa?
Thus seems borrowed from 1 of
Puerto Rico’s 19th c. dances, La
Danza. puertoriquena ( See instructional videos by Giibaro
Puerto Rico for danza, plena some other PR dances. For bomba, see
several different videos.
I only like salsa in my tacos
You guys killed it!
Great partner couple!!! Love you two!
Love this - just saw it
Amazing thanks guys.
Thanks for counting and using words to explain what you are doing. I'm a rather hopeless dance student and just watching people's feet ......I cant tell at all what is going on. The words help!
❤love it!! Glad I found this video!
This amazing! Thank you much!
Ok, Gotta learn this before quarantine is over
Y’all are great teachers
Amazing! Thank you!!
Gracias por este video 😁💃
Way better than some other videos to learn how to dance
Wish you had more likes!! Your videos deserve to blow up!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
great job!!
Great tutuorial
That was great thanks
Solid videos !
Thank you!!!
Thank you! I will practice and learn how to do dance. If I can learn how to speak Spanish, I can learn how to do this!
EXCELENTE ...GRACIAS ......SALUDOS.....GENIAL.....
Nos vemos Sábado 29th en el workshop de Bachata :)
Great tutorial! We are learning ! Very good job! Gracias😃
as much as my wife has been wanting me to learn the steps, theses seem pretty simple. thanks for your videos. also, i know that different part of the country dance different. we live in south texas and we for the most part go in a counter clockwise circle. is there steps for this type of movement
Nice!
I really like the way you teach the steps. Do you have a video for cumbia but dancing without a partner?
Nice👍👍👍
You guys teach it really well, because you count it out but could you do a part 2 and show a couple turns with the counts?
Ok ima be dancing counting now😂
ladies are always right - hhhaaaaaaaaaa . truuuuu 😇
Are there only two videos? I want to keep learning!
cumbia is so underrated, its so hard to dance to!
I suck so bad I need even more beginner than this hahah
In a werid way when you do the side by side it reminds me of cupid shuffle and I think that's why I was able to learn it so fast.
I do the cross way
What dances can I learn to do alone?
Is adding a spin move possible
Quick quick what bro.., I’m terrible at this , give me some grace
I like him....
jasjsjsjs estan mas duros estos
que bonita está la morra
..so, is the side step the same as in bachata???
What song did you dance to?
Capable - Jincheng Zhang. It sounds really good.
Where is part 3 ??
Side to side is similar to bachata.
After watching this video and a few others I can now dance with my girlfriend knowing what to do
Hi how u doing
Thanks for the well instructed video. One suggestion is to use leader and follower terminology as opposed to gentlemen and ladies. Thanks again!
Is this colombian or mexican cumbia?!
It is Mexican cumbia. The Colombian cumbia, which is the original one, is totally different!
What happened to number four? You skip it. you're count is 1,2,3,- 5,6,7? Is there a pause at number four?
Match the 1, 2, 3 to the quick, quick, slow. They explain that the 3rd step takes a 2 count.
Yes 4 and 8 are a pause
It would be nice if we could actually see the steps ..the words totally cover both of you
Nope...not a single dancing bone in my body
The music is added later and does not fit to your dancing rhythm. Pitty
This is Mexican. It's missing the elegance of the original CUMBIA FROM COLOMBIA. Look up "porro medellin" or "tutorial de porro" if you wanna see the real thing. This looks simple and tacky compared to real cumbia...no offense.
I agree with you 100% that Cumbia from Colombia is beautiful and elegant, you need to find beauty in all styles of Cumbia
This is not how mexican dance cumbia @alen1020 but it still looks nice :)
Remember if you have to say no offense it is mot likely offensive : )
Original cumbia is from Africa
Love it!!! I’m dating a Colombian and I needed a refresher course and so thankful to find you! Thinking of joining your classes in person with her and a surprise 🤍
