My 13 f150 is making a strange intermittent noise from the driver side but it's not whistling. it's a deck of cards shuffling kind of sound that comes and goes with acceleration. I left you another comment on another video letting you know I've replace the rid bearings in my motor. now I'm thinking of pulling the turbos when it warms up a little. Your notes still say that parts list is coming. I need the Ford part number for that new exhaust manifold because I had mine replaced at the dealer last year and the studs are broken again. At the time the dealer rep said there was no upgrade part.
Hey @Flying Wrenches! I've got a cab off in my bay and parts on back order,, whats a good aftermarket brand of valve covers for 14 and 17 f150s that you would recommend? Thanks.

I have a 2.7 EcoBoost and it sounds like a kazoo when I accelerate the stops. Turbo has been replaced but still sounds the same.
Is the hole in the fead for the updated manifold?
WHERES THIS PARTS LIST WHAT IS THE REVISED MANIFOLD PN????
HEY MAYSON..... There you are. Great Video once again. Man Pulling that Cab Off, Piece a Cake for you now day's. As an F-150 Owner, 2022 New Truck, It's Scary, Just seems like a LOT Can go wrong there. Like, New Noise's, Bolt's Left Loose, Wires Pinched??? Man. I don't know about that. Looks like a GREAT way to Expose stuff that would otherwise Not be very accessible at all. And All those Part's to replace, I would also replace that stuff! It's Buried and too difficult to go back a 2nd time. Do it Once, Do it Right!!!
Hi, love the channel. If you were buying an F150, would you hunt a particular used year or new? Which engine do ypu think is the most reliable?
Great video …liked and subscribed😉 just a question of clarification did you state that the new manifold with the extra stud bolt up onto the existing G1 head?
Still planning on doing a video about the waste gate rattle on the gen2 3.5 ecoboosts?
Flying Wrenches what’s the updated manifold part numbers for l&r sides? I just looked 30 seconds ago and I indeed have a broken rear stud on the driver side.
Is this an issue on the transverse mounted engines as well?
Not letting go of my 6.2L F150 anytime soon!
Thanks. That helped me out alot
Can you post the parts list we all keep asking for please?!
What’s the similarity with the sho/mks awd eco boost? Can I do the upgraded manifolds?
Mayson, I have p0420 and p0430. Replaced with magnaflow weld in converters and the codes are back/still there. On this ecoboost (mine is 2015) what do you usually see cause that code? My friend worked for a ford dealership going to hook to scanner to make sure 02’s are doing what they should but he said he’s never seen those codes be a 02 sensor. He said it may not like those cats.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Happening to me on my 15' at 86k miles. Have a broken stud on each side. Only turbo squeak noise on passenger side. Dealer says I need both. Quoted $4700 for repair.
Great video, informative 🎉
Where are the links to buy everything you mentioned to get?
Where can I find the parts list? Thank you.
I have an f150 ecoboost. Replaces manifold and turbos. Replsced all line except the drivers coolant line that runs to the back of engine…. How do I replace the fitting in back and attach the line on back???
Mayson would due a video on the 2010 f150 5.4 3v pcv. How the pcv system works . Does it have a check valve? like a typical pcv system… tanks
Hey there, great video! I've got the dreaded coolant leak out of the driver side turbo on my 2016 Expy (122k miles). Manifolds look okay but thinking of doing those at the same time. I'm seem aftermarket manifolds out there with up to 11 studs, instead of the 9 in the revised Ford OEM manifold. (See the guys at BD Diesel). Any thoughts on that option? Thanks again!
I know you can lift the cab or even do it through the fenders have you done it both ways? I like lifting the cab but sometimes I do it from the fenders too!
Your notes still say that parts list is coming. I need the Ford part number for that new exhaust manifold because I had mine replaced at the dealer last year and the studs are broken again. At the time the dealer rep said there was no upgrade part.
Maybe the BD Diesel replacement?
Hey @Flying Wrenches! I've got a cab off in my bay and parts on back order,, whats a good aftermarket brand of valve covers for 14 and 17 f150s that you would recommend? Thanks.
I've heard that the turbos used are different in transversely mounted applications, do you know if that's true? If yes, do they also have both oil and coolant lines or just oil lines?
What is the part number for the newer updated manifold?
For the RH one it’s BL3Z-9431-D. Older part was BL3Z-9431-B
So revised from suffix B to D
Just discovered your channel. 1 word = AWESOME!, Looks like you and Brian at FTML are the authorities on F150s. Fixing to do the manifold replace on a '16 with 90k miles. No broken studs but notice the whine during hard launches. I went with the BDDiesel manifolds. I am hoping no issues seen with those.
Have you done the repair yet? If so how did install with the BD manifolds go? I'm about to order from them
@@gettendeep18 Havent started yet. Plan to start next weekend hopefully. Seems life gets in the way. Luckily none of my studs are broken yet just want to be proactive.
I feel ya! I just ordered the Kit along with their turbo gasket kit with all the fittings. I just bought a 14 with 196k. It's in Great shape all around just makes that little chirp noise when I accelerate. I'm hoping myself a couple friends can get it done with a little effort! If I install before you I'll let you know how it went!
@@gettendeep18 Got the manifolds swapped Saturday. Runs so much better... I think it builds boost faster. Seems to be more responsive. Biggest plus = No more exhaust leak whistle at high boost. Note: I did have 1 broken exhaust bolt, but seems the nut was rusted to the manifold so i thought they were 100% until i touched it.
@@jeanluc71 nice! I contacted the dealer and they have it now to "diagnose" even though I'm fairly certain what the problem is. At least they provided a loner vehicle and are helping with the issue given I bought it with no warranty with higher mileage! Either way I'll get them installed soon. Glad to hear they perform good!
Mine makes a noise when I’m going faster but it don’t do it if I’m parked , does it when I’m driving around and only when I’m at a certain speed and accelerating certain amount , and if I hit it harder it goes away and does it again if I press it again sometimes
Would you recommend replacing turbos at the same time?
I have 155k miles on it turbos aren’t causing any issue but are leaking coolant. Just wondering if you would replace or reuse?
I have a 2014 platinum with 200,400 miles on it. Only problem I have had is the manifold on the passenger side. My turbos are still going.
Very helpful you’re the man
You said you would leave us a parts list . Been 6 months ? That's what I picked your video. Good video though I may go back and write down what you said pretty fast.
Off topic but watch a lot of your videos, have you heard or diagnosed a weird chirp/bark from a 6r80 4-3 downshift and sometimes a 3-4 up shift?
I currently have 2013 Ford F150 with 215,00 Exhaust manifold problem I'm looking to get a quote to get fixed. Can you list the other parts I should have replaced at the same time? Too bad I don't live near Alabama I would bring it to you. Thank you for you videos! Rich in the Pacific Northwest
Where exactly in Alabama are you located? I have a 2011 F150 with the 3.5 ecoboost that needs some work done.
You do any work with the 5.0l f150s?
Have a friend with a gen 2 f150 definitely broke the back bolt lol
Videos on mks twin turbo..
Because aren't they different then f150 3.5
Thanks
If you can help, where can I order the new exaust manifold?
I’m being told that I’ve had this air pump $700 and now the cable covers $1100 there saying that the rear main seal could be leaking what’s the likely hold of this at 150000 miles and the truck runs great could you show a rear main replacement this is on a 2015 f150 3.5
do you use the genuine ford studs or is there a better aftermarket stud you recommend
Does anyone know the part numbers for the cooling tubes and connectors? There are three different sized connectors and three part numbers
Appreciate your informative videos. Just curious, if you were going to buy an F-150, what engine or model would you choose? Are there any particular years that you would not recommend? Thanks
all ford's are shit
Would you happen to have the parts list?
Hey man love the videos. How far from Bham are you?
