    I bought a Radrunner and a RipRacer based on your reviews, and I couldn't be happier! Thanks for doing the most informative and thorough reviews I've seen, and trust me, I've watched hundreds!!

    I have this bicycle.Mind you I am from Canada and 500w is the legal limit here , but other companies are giving you 500w nominal and peak between 800 to 1100 watts , but Rad gives you peak 500, so for a bicycle this size and weight , it's really underpowered. The front seat is just junk , you have to immediately replace it with something a little more comfort. This is my third bicycle from Rad and so far this bicycle is loved by my 7 year old daughter more than me . Rad really need to work on couple of things. The bicycle is underpowered as is with two people on it and god forbid if you have to climb slightest of hills with another person it just struggles even on level 5 . If battery is 3 bars or less , you'll notice the bicycle using juice rather quickly because it just struggles to keep up when battery is 60 percent or lower. This bicycle is handful to slow down with mechanical brakes because its heavy and with two riders on it , physics kicks in and it just takes forever to come to complete stop. There are positives but the negatives outweigh all the positives . I wish there was something similar in the market so that I can sell mine and get something with more power and better components. I love watching your videos and I highly appreciate you for telling the truth about Rad being underpowered compared to other manufacturers. So far you're the best reviewer out there and others are just sponsored product marketers.

      Thank you for the kind words. We try to stay as impartial as possible. We have heard that adding an Egg Rider screen can help get some more acceleration. Not something we have tried just yet, but are going to try out in the coming months.

      @@jakeanderson9659 hello, if you're looking for something exactly like the plus , I do not think here in Canada we have any other choice , but there are a lot of bicycle's with Banana seats on which you might be able to carry a passenger but your peddling would be limited due to non adjustable seat. But if you're looking for something just for your own personal riding , there are plenty of choices . I have tried Rize bike ( very powerful ) , Tesgo hummer pro off of amazon is one of my favourites because I own one and absolutely love it ( its a 750 w motor that peaks at 1000 w ) and i had a seized front shock after 1000 kms on that bicycle and contacted customer service via an email and 3 weeks later I had a new shock. Another 2 Canadian companies that I like are Voltbike and Biktrix though Biktrix is a little more expensive , it comes with better components than any other bicycle I have tried. Try avoiding Igo ebike another Canadian company that I had bad luck with , mind you I have owned 2 Igo products and sold them both because they had issues with controllers right out of the box , they have quick responding customer service , but it's a nightmare to get anything from them under warranty.

    I love my Runner Plus but given all the upgrades I've done to mine and all the other similar styled/more powerful and upgraded alternatives on the market, I'm not sure if I'd go with it over a competitor if I had to buy it all over again. Even if they upgrade the seat to the same one that the Runner 2 comes with - it's still uncomfortable. The headlight is just terrible. Many bikes come with bigger Ah or voltage of batteries (Rad needs to roll out a battery upgrade ASAP). Not to mention their strict adherence to the Class 2 speeds/wattage is turning away a ton of potential (younger) customers and it seems their main demographic is now senior riders. If they aren't careful they will turn in the "Jitterbug" of ebike companies. Which isn't a bad thing - it just doesn't fit in with their company goal of making an ebike for everyone.

      i had a major handle bar issue, i owned the Rad Expand 5 for only 11 months. Their customer service wont pay to repair or even look at the bike. I am pretty sure they know about the handle bar riser issue. Once you buy a 5, you are really on your own. If you felt encouraged to buy it cause their website said, "any bike shop" will service it, that is
      totally deceptive. They may replace brakes or repair flats like any regular bike, but i been rejected by 6 bike shops around Reno. Unless you buy an E Bike from a place that sells one, that is the only way to get service. Otherwise you just own a lawn ornament weighing 75 lbs. Mike Niemi

    I have a quibble, and I'm probably the only person bothered by this. Ryan, it's not "rideen" and "revieween" and "testeen" etc., it's riding and reviewing and testing. Thank you for entertaining my complaint :}

    This bike is really meant for a passenger . I would never use that feature so I'm thinking I'm out on this bike for sure.. That clear plastic wheel guard would be coming off as soon as I got it. Doesn't the controller down underneath look like a dirt and sand collection point? It looks hard to keep clean. Space for junk to fly up and collect in there.
    You did a great job showing off the features if this family friendly versatile bike!

    Hi, would like to ask how many amps I can add to my scooter battery, currently running 48v 15ah. my controller is rated 20ah. can I use 48v 45ah on my 20ah controller?

    • @EbikeEscape
      @EbikeEscape  Год назад

      No problem. Lets start with where I think you are getting a little mixed up. "Amps" and "Amp Hours" are no the same thing. Amps is the current that controller can send to the motor, and Amp Hours is the amount of charge a battery can hold (so your overall range). The size of your battery has no effect on the controller. You can use a 45Ah battery with a 20amp controller, without any issue. You just want to match the voltage of your battery to that of your controller. So sticking with a 48v battery is the right move.
      I hope that helps.

    How do you get this bike into throttle only mode? I have the same bike and when I use the throttle it goes very slow, by slow I mean less than 3 miles per hour. Is there a certain gear or assist level it needs to be in?

    • @TheOlderIget
      @TheOlderIget 2 года назад

      I found the answer to this ... The speed of the throttle is dependent on where you are located and the bike rules in that area. I'm in Europe so the rules here limit the speed of the throttle
