- In this video I compare the old Rad Power Bikes RadRunner Plus that was released in 2020 to the newest version RadRunner 3 Plus released in March of 2023.
There has been some major improvements, some components remained the same, and there were also some baffling choices on this new version. I appreciate your patience since it's taken me WAY too long to make this video!

I love my 2020 rad runner plus and find it no reason to upgrade if almost everything is the same except for brakes and frame.
Just purchased the original rad Runner plus for $1349 with the current $250 discount and a coupon that popped up on Google for an additional $400 could not be happier! Cheers, and merry Christmas!

For reference I have been riding the original bare bones RadRunner for 3-4 years. Its my daily driver. Over the years I have had to learn how to manage flat tires, replace brake pads and clean and lubricate the chain. That's it. Why they would need to make so many changes to such a great product is unknown to me.
While I like the new modern design of this 3 Plus , I definitely agree with your point. I feel that they did the same with the redesign to the RadRover with MASSIVE changes from the Rover 5 to 6 Plus but hopefully they won't repeat the same mistake of discontinuing the non-Plus version and will keep the base model RadRunner and keep releasing newer versions of that design as well.

I think main plus point is weight carrying capability on the plus 3 otherwise you can change all components, brakes, seat, light even add battery.
The rad runner 3 is an improvement over the 2 other then the front suspension and I also prefer the previous Plus models retro look.
I’ve seen the old plus with dual battery the additional battery was fitted in the same place where the semi integrated battery is fitted on the plus 3 model. I believe it’s better placed central rather then underneath rear seat that will be rear end heavy and with someone on the back 😩

Agreed! While I love the look of the old Runners, the new design definitely looks better IMO.
For the cost it should have integrated tail light with turn signals and a 750watt motor ans the hydraulic brakes should have been a must with the weight carrying capacity. great overview!!
Definitely agree there. Hopefully turn signals become a more standard feature in the future. I definitely feel safer while riding in traffic with them! Thank you for watching!

not being able to change the fuse in the new integrated battery is a deal breaker
I can definitely see that. I wish Rad would ditch those new batteries and go with a new design. I see too many reported issues online from Rad riders concerning them.
Thanks for pointing this out. I have not seen one review that mentions this. So disappointing. I was seriously considering getting this bike.
Conclusion: Still no class 3 unlock to allow the ebike to go 28 MPH.
Yep, pretty disappointing. It should still have the unlock to 23-25 MPH max that your typical Rad bike has but you'll have to google how to do that since they don't condone it. 🙄
it looks so ugly. rad runner 2 model is the best looking one
