What do you think of Rad's new models? Were they worth the wait? radpowerbikes.pxf.io/1rmzzD If you do decide to purchase a Rad Power Bikes of your own, please consider doing so after clicking our link. It is a free and easy way to support JT and I here at Ebike Escape! Thank you all so much in advance!
Finally! I'm a big Rad fan and have been for years. In recent years I have bemoaned Rad's lack of up to date features and the lack of adjustability in the electronics. I'm personally happy they have chosen not to seek the bottom of the price market but still have a competitively priced bike for the features. The addition of the torque sensors is a major improvement IMHO. And finally a choice of color vs the black/white scheme for so many years (with the exception to the wagon) and the army green in recent Rad Runners. I own the Rad City 5 Plus and really love the bike. It has become my main ride over my mid drive simply because it is more powerful, faster and more comfortable than the mid-drive. Personally, I would like to see a test of the Rad Wagon 5. In part because most other channels will not be testing it and you and your wife are cargo bike experts. Thanks for this review.
I already ordered the RadWagon 5 so for selfish reasons that’s the review I’m most eager for. (I had a RadWagon 4 but found the cadence sensor and the brakes unacceptable so I sold it.)
Have they improved the rear drop outs? I have been afraid of them because my shop has worked on so many that had only 3/4's of the lug in contact with the drop out.
I recently bought a RadExpand 5 on sale for $1,250. I imagine the various features on the new RadExpand 5 Plus model will swing the decision for some, but at the expense of added cost & weight. I hope Rad keep selling both models
hi there. I just commented on your other video reviewing the new Velotric Discover 2 ebike. I have a Radcity 5 plus and I have enjoyed it a lot. I'm considering a new bike...I thought maybe the Radster Road would be a nice upgrade, but the Velotric Discover 2 looks awesome too (in red!)...I Know you are yet to make a in depth review of the Radpower Radster Road (and trail), but I wonder what your initial thoughts are comparin the Radster Road vs The Velotric Adventure 2? if possible...I know I'm inpatient! Spring is almost here in Canada...finally! Thanks guys!
I look forward to trying the Radwagon 5. I am a little disappointed to see that, while the payload capacity has increased 25lbs, the bike itself has gained 10lbs and now weighs a whopping 86lbs!
After 30 miles on the Radwagon 5...the rear brake squeals like crazy. It was bedded properly, the caliper is straight, and the rotor is clean; the rear wheel creeks like mad. I've taken it to two bikes shops. It's not a spoke tension issue. The flanges are not all flush with the hub. I'm not sure that's the real issue, but both shops said the wheel was crap and to send it back. That's ok though, because I'm already sending it back because the running board tabs are misaligned. I am very skeptical that the replacement will fix all of these issues.
They finally made some real progress. A torque sensor is a must for me but i would not buy a bike with a 15 amp hr battery A 20 amp hr is the minimum for me also the Mag wheel bike i have has 100 nm 750 watt dual motors and i can throttle up to 30 after unlocking it. Rad is still behind the competition. And it's a 60 volt . Also no dual suspension bikes
Nice Job Guys! I am looking and hoping to get a cargo bike i like the one you should in this clip. My only issue is lack funds to get one I am 65 soon to be 66. I can't afford a car so looking at e-bikes. I also trying to keep independent Being in small town I enjoy I could move back to city but have friends here and went to high school where I want to stay the rest of my days. Like you guys winters in Nebraska are not fun but make the best of it.
I'm a 58 year old guy, 5 foot 10 and 170 lbs. I want to ride the dirt path around my neighborhood mostly. Should I buy a big wheel model or the small tire model? I can only spend about 1400 or so. Thanks for any input internet friends.
Not much can compare to the feeling of helping the Fed-X Dude off load that Big, Heavy, Cool looking box on to your street. I thought about making a cannabis grow chamber out of the box. That was 2018 my Rad City4 and some 4300 miles ago. Still smiling.
This video appears to affirm Rad is going to be around for awhile instead of disappearing as I suspected they would do because of their totally scatterbrained design of a battery with non replaceable fuses and their horrible customer service recently. Environmentally ridiculous, consumer ridiculous and completely unnecessary pain in the ass design. Nice to see some new models and some updates of a few existing ones. I am very much interested in a review of the RW5 as I want to compare it to my RW4. It looks like standard panniers will fit on the rear rack too. If so, nice move Rad. It would be nice if they had folding floorboards for either passenger feet or to support the bottom of a cargo bag.
Do not like that bar on the Radster. Especially the Large Size. Please mention the weight when you do the full review. It would be nice if you could switch between Cadence & Torque like Euphree Stellar Falcon. Good video.
Just purchased on June 20th, 2024, I worked for 2 days and have stopped working, Customer Support has not been helpful, and has been unresponsive. They thought it was the controller, ordered it, on July 6th, and as of July 9th it has not been sent out yet. And I have to take the bike apart and fix it. I called a service center (the closest was 2 hours away) and they felt it was the motor. They have not been helpful, as it is so big, I can't transport it and would have to hire a van and drive 2 hours each way to get it to a service center. So, if anything goes wrong with the bike as in my situation, and you're not close to a service center nor have a vehicle large enough to transport this bike, as of the date of this writing, you are screwed. And good luck speaking with someone with authority to make decisions.
Somewhat sure that the next version of the RADRover will cost a bit more than $1100. Time is running out before the big tax hike, which they have already posted on the RAD website.
I have seen too many knock off batteries for all kinds of electronics catch on fire. If you use an off brand battery it absolves the company of responsibilities. Yes they are usually cheaper and just as good but why risk it to save $100 ?
@@pablobartelotte4553 I have never seen a proprietary battery that was even good, much less better and never for just $100 difference. Sorry, but nobody, at any price point, actually makes a good battery at the moment. They are proprietary only so you cannot buy them elsewhere for less.

Good first look guys. I think they did a good job overall. If you guys were to start an e-biking tour company what bikes would you recommend buying?

Awesome video thanks for sharing. That new rad wagon 😮!!!!!
Finally, two different size riders back to back providing a great perspective. Thanks

Review the RadWagon 5 first, please! Hoping to pull the trigger on that for our summer travels with the kids 🤙🏼
Can't wait to try out the new rad wagon. I hope it handles hills better than the existing models! #moreallie
I have a rad rover step through from 2020 and still recommend Rad to people
Thanks for the size comparison on the Radster, help a lot in the decision making process.

Could you review the rad expand 5 plus
Definitely planning on buying the radster trail once i can get a little money saved.

Lucky you don't have the roadrunner plus. That thing is 85 KG
Rad's rear rack for their new model should hold more than just 55lbs.
When is the RadWagon 5 review coming? Missed opportunity being one of the few who actually have their hands on one right now.

Well they sound great but I have to guess what they look like. Could they you scanned down to the bikes as you talk about them.
We now have full reviews on each model. Radster Trail review is almost done.

Go with the 24x4. Much more stable in the dirt I have the R/P 6+ and my wife has the R/P 5. They are great bikes Enjoy
26X4.0. Sorry
I would love to hear what overall brand you think is the best quality and value.
Definitely looking good there ( their) Rad.

Did you put up the fence or the neighbor
Ha why?
@@EbikeEscape well, obviously you want privacy while working in your driveway

I want to buy one EB. and not decide if Rad or Lectric finish this review.
That’s me too. I really like the looks af the new rad wagon 5 but I’m still loving that xpedition !!!

Oh man that is terrible! Here is to wishing they get nothing but flat tires on it 🍻
When is they coming out with a new trike and a new color and with the accessories with it that you don’t have to pay extra for❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I want a Rad small watercraft! Make one Rad.
That would be 😎

The proprietary batteries are a huge turn off knowing that they continue to lay off people and their service plummeted.

Those are some ugly ebikes.
So...Rads features are finally catching up with their prices. 🫤
