I had been looking at the Old Town Lure for a while, and came here to plug your affiliate link. Stock is running out- they only had grey in my size. Thanks for the resource.
So I'm watching the video again trying to figure out what off to get and about the 6:22 mark I hear this braaat braaaawt . I'm grilling and looking at my chickens trying to figure out if there's a predator or something. It's your chickens! My family laughed so hard at me. Thanks for the info and entertainment
Great review..I like the old town's inside design to keep your body cool, but they camoflauge their colors and i rather been seen on a kayak then not. I have the newer NRS which i like the design, clips, and bright colors so you can be seen, minus the inside where it's not as cool.
Last year I bought a NRS chinook, I noticed now you are wearing any old town personal protection device. Is this your favorite vest now? And which model is it? Please leave a link. Thank you for all your support to us new fisherman.
Love the video & your channel. Bout to purchase a fishing PFD. In your opinion, how important is it to have a high "viz" PFD out on the water kayaking?? Bight orange, yellow etc? Torn between bright orange & army green. If you can reply that would be awesome. Thnx for your time! 👍
Nice video. In short, just go purchase a $30 mesh PFD of your size at Academy or Bass Pro. All those u showed are type III rated at 16lbs buoyancy. I can confirm the Kokatat Bahia has 2 and a half inches of foam up front. That’s WAYYYY too much. When u start adding junk to the vest, it will affect the buoyancy. If u want more buoyancy, check out NRS Big Water Guide at 22lbs or even the V model for whitewater at 25lbs. I love my onyx Camo mesh PFD. It doesn’t interfere with my paddle strokes nor my cast. Happy paddling 🛶
Does anyone make a CO2 cartridge inflatable PFD Fishing vest? Just thinking similar to you regarding the amount of space that is taken up in the chest area. Thanks, I appreciate your responses.
Good to hear the perspective from someone who has actually used them quite extensively. Thanks!
Great , Great Video . I still cannot understand why people still do not wear a PFD. You must wear one at All times while Kayaking Period . 👍👍
Thanks for the video. Biggest struggle for most of us is finding a place that carries these specific “purpose built” PFDs to try on before buying.
I have a Stohlquist Fishmerman. My opinion, buy the absolute best PFD you can afford! Appreciate the video!
Best video so far about kayak pfd. Thanks for an adding each item in the description too....no one does this lol. Keep it up!

Great video. Your absolutly right. PFD's "prevent f***ing death" 😂😂😂😂💯. Great video, great info. I just purchased a NRS Chinook OS.

LMAO. Those girls love being on camera.
fly keepers are great for changing lures with treble hooks
I love the cap. I have the same one :)

Thanks for this!
NRS cVest is a great one for kayaking… look it up!
Not really designed for fishing though.

If my kayak is not highly visible I prefer a high viz PFD

Me too!
If you had to choose one, which would it be?
Old Town Angler PFD. Its easier to layer up and stay warm than to try and find ways to be cool.
How does a knife keep you from drowning? Get caught up on weeds or fishing line? Thanks for the video.
Downrigger lines and anchor lines are death traps

Never seen that
How do you attach the NRS knife to the old town pfd?
Lash tab
I have the same question. The Old Town doesn’t have a lash tab.
People from main get hot If it gets above sixty degrees.
this guy never even noticed the hawks right behind him!
Is there an area on the Old Town you can mount your Pilot Knife on?
I mount mine on a loop center chest. Check my latest video to see where I running it. I do wish it had a lash tab but it doesn't
@@spiltmilt thank you! I just watched the video you just put out. You are the man!! thank you so much!
oohhhhh what knife is that?
NRS Pilot Knife: amzn.to/2O0ciJi
looks like those links point to products no longer available. Any recommendations for 2023/2024?
They update the NRS Chinook since this video it looks great amzn.to/3T9XYQ8 and the Old Town Lure Angler is still my favorite amzn.to/3uIIPuO
@@spiltmilt Thanks!
where are the Kokatats and the NRS PFDs manufactured?
Arcata, CA and Mosow, ID respectively
Any reason why you did not include a co2 vest? Not sure what you call them.
Too many bodies pulled from the river where those have failed to deploy.
It gets so hot here in Florida sometimes all I have on is my PFD and it’s a inflatable
Do you record with a GoPro on your body while your wearing your pfd? If so how do you wear it?
I wear it on my shoulder using a shoulder strap mount. amzn.to/3iZE5G4
Ok thank you so much
Before I watch, I'm just going to assume they're all mega-expensive.
Transport canada approved?
Not sure
You don’t have to wear the Kokatat so high.
Tried wearing it lower and when I sat in the kayak it put a lot of pressure on my abdominal area.
I use a feelfree lure with the elevated seat and I’m 6’1, so maybe that’s why it’s more comfortable to me.
