"You're a doctor? Dr. Who? What do you mean "Exactly."" Hilarious. Loved this, and I'm very jealous of Midwest Guy in London! Watch out for stags! 😂🙌
Man that one got me😅😅😅😅
Who’s on the phone?
Yes
"Jeepers cripes cime and all Freddy gosh darn shoot I tell you what these sums a guns talk a little funny here."
@@seanA416 😆 Wow! 👏👏
Came here to say that, a huge fan of the show. But you beat me to it, so here's a free like!
“Long live the queen!” “What’s that?” “Spoiler alert what season is that in?” Yeah that’s pure gold hahaha
I laughed the hardest at that line and the double butter burger line for the bus 😂😂😂
A few years back an Amish couple visited Milan, Italy, the fashion capital of Europe. The photo of them in their Amish clothes eating gelato in the Galleria near the Duomo was published in a local newspaper, it was so exotic. You're not that level yet unless you've brought a cheese hat with you.
Amish people visiting Europe? they must have taken a boat!
You sure they wern't Orthodox Hasidic Jews?
I need to see a photo of this
Maybe a cruise ship?
I think they were from Europe originally to begin with
“the double-decker busses were inspired by the Culver’s butter burger” 🤣
Culvers is good
A better brand of beef makes a butter burger better!
Those Brits don’t know what they’re missing, not having a Culvers up in Picawilly…
Love your content, as a Canadian. Can relate to Midwestern culture.
What part? Cause Southern Ontario is pretty Midwest-like just minus the accent
I know a lot of Canadians in Wisconsin
@@coastaku1954 Southern Ontario.
@@sebastiangreen1726 Same here, Kingston has some midwestern vibes going
Only places I want to go outside the US is the UK. All of it!
Followed behind an American couple, on a tour of York Minster Cathedral in the early 80s. Guide was describing the construction and dimensions of the church (Opened in 637 AD - most of church construction dates to about 1100s AD). Wife says to husband, "we've got bigger churches in Texas." 🤣
Texans have a complex with size. 😂
😅
Hilarious that someone would even think to compare the York Minster Cathedral to any church in Texas.
Just like that Charlie can write off his whole vacation as a business expense.
Brit living in Wisconsin. You make me both homesick and proud that I live in the Midwest!
After living in England for a year and a half and moving to Wisconsin, this is spot on and hysterical! Thanks for the laugh!
The Brits are thinking the same thing as Charlie; man this guy has a funny accent
That’s the joke, bud. :-)
Oh dear lord. People help me down vote
@@clapclapscream I agree with your sentiment, but as you told me what to do, I'm gonna have to do the opposite.
@@Elliot-T haha you rebel you
As a Brit who lived 3 years in Wisconsin (oshkosh, not far south of green bay itself)... I can confirm, I had a mix of the 2 accents for a bit. Confused the hell out of everyone
There needs to be a part 2 where he hits 4 pubs in 11 buildings and realizes London might not be too bad of a place
When I go over ONCE the fuel crisis is over, I'm doing a good old fashioned pub crawl.
@@christianfreedom-seeker934When you come over, go to my favourite pub - "Rising Sun" in Barbican. You won't be disappointed by the selection of beers and ales. "The Old Fountain" near Old Street Station is nearby, and also has a brilliant selection. I've moved away from London now, but I make a point of returning to those pubs every time I visit
Four pints? In London? Man's not made of money.
And all of the pubs are in old churches
@B Pace cool
“Spoiler alert! What season’s that in?”
That broke me
Me too!!!!! He is priceless!!!!😂🤣😂🤣😂
"I'm at the corner of 20 and Give Way" 🤣
Doesn't matter how many times I watch it, it's still hilarious. The whole vid is. Can't believe you're in (or have been in) London! Welcome to the (sinking ship that is the) UK 😁
Had to scroll way too far down the comments to find someone else who appreciated how hilarious that line was 😂
As a brit I always get irrationally excited when Americans I watch online come over to our little island 😂 I hope you have a great time!!!
Idk why but the Culvers Double Butter Burger line made me crack up big time.
I want one now.
Same!!!! 😂😂😂
came here to say this. will be giggling all morning.
It's historically accurate though! I uhm think...
They are soooo good
I was mistaken for a Canadian once when I visited England. I told the man I was from Michigan, about a half hour drive to Canada. He asked me if the people were really nice in Canada 😂
Detroit or Sault haha love Michigan
@@zubzerrolastname6599or Port Huron
Anytime I'm overseas I always get asked if I'm from Canada 😂 I'm from Wisconsin.
From the Midwest cheese head to a world-wide cheese head 😆 🤣 😂
As a lifelong Michigander, currently living in NJ., I was flushed out as a midwesterner for saying jeez ‘o Petes . I honestly thought everyone said it😁
I've never even heard that, but apparently calling drinking fountains a "bubbler" is a Wisconsin thing. I'm from, and am back in, nw WI ( Dunn co. born n raised and near it now). Our pastor in northern IL ( lived there for a few years) heard me refer to one in the church as a bubbler and said "oh yeah, you're from WI ", is how I learned that. That's just what everyone around me called them when I was a kid.
@@ajb.822 I feel like there's a connection between calling it a bubbler and the alcoholism rates in Wisconsin.
@@ajb.822 never heard it called a bubbler. New to me😀
Fellow Michigander here. I don't think I've ever said "Geez Louise," but I definitely say "Geez o'Pete's."
In Utah, they say "oh my heck". Dead giveaway.
I never realized that I say ‘ope’ and ‘geez Louise’ so much, as well as ‘cripes’ til I starting watching you Charlie! Now I laugh at myself every time I catch myself saying them!😂😂😂
I was talking with my lady tonight and an “ope” slipped out. Told her I might be watching to much Charlie.
I definitely didn't know how much I say Ope till Charlie and I was like omg I do say it all the time. Ope sorry
LOL !!!!
I've said ope and geez Louise my whole life and I'm from central WA haha. Watching these videos makes me think that somehow a little of the Midwest came over here because of how similar it seems to be
My BF is from Madison, I'm from GA and I've started catching myself saying OPE. Charlie is a hoot!
Loved the Peaky Blinders reference😂 Nice Tommy Shelby impression lol
Have a great show Charlie. They are going to love you. I promise. Thanks for all the laughs.
Congratulations on playing London, Charlie! Really great work, super proud of ya, please tell your folks I says hi
"Verizon sucks" is the funniest 🤣 😂 part of the video!!! I really enjoyed the Midwest Guy in London!!!
Back when they were joined at the hip with Vodafone, there was some actual truth to that!
I’m a Londoner and this is flippin hilarious. Great job mate!
Tell the Queen I says hi. Ope.
Every time I hear "davenport" I'm flooded with lovely memories of my grandma Betty xx
I was only 4 years old when we moved from Missouri to Minnesota. When we moved, we brought sofas; our next door neighbors had couches, and the neighbors two doors down had davenports. Who knew that the midwest was so diversified? 🙂
We had a divan when I was a kid!
We had a settee.
My grandma Iva.
You missed the part where Charlie goes into a London pub and suddenly becomes irrationally angry that there's no Leinenkugel's.
Imagine waiting in line to find there is no Queueys. I mean, imagine waiting in queue to find there is no Leiny's.
You have a new series, Charlie in London, Charlie in Paris, Charlie in Japan….keep ‘em comin’
As a Wisconsinite raised in Japan, I would love that last one. Sadly, though, he'd only probably go to Tokyo instead of going up to the northernmost island Hokkaido, which is about the same latitude and population as Wisconsin, full of snow for most of the winter, and is basically built for any Midwest person who wants to move to Japan but just live among the Japanese upper Midwesterners (include a different dialect from Tokyo).
Dude I didnt realize some of the shit I say is stereotypical Midwest
Soo...you came over the big drink to see the 51st state? :)))
"Long live the queen!"
💀💀💀
"Spoiler alert what season is that in?"
Unfortunately, the doctor couldn't do anything for her.
Doctor who?
Exactly.
"Very American of these Brits"
😭😂
Not only do they have an underground Amtrack in London, but they paint it red white and blue so us Yanks feel more at home!
I was watching this half expecting him to be in a traffic circle announcing, “look kids, big Ben, Parliament!” that’s when I realized that Charlie has the potential to be the Chevy Chase of the next generation. Someone needs to get this guy in some Midwest family themed holiday and vacation movies!
Traffic circle? I assume that is what we Brits call a roundabout
Much better than Chevy. Authentic and no smug undercurrent. P.S. And funnier.
@@lillianlamantia9605 some uncontacted tribes here in the US call it that, it’s short for a circle with traffic lights, they have no concept of a yield/give way sign… literally impossible for them to comprehend apparently
@@spelcheak Ok? It was a legitimate question as I have never heard of a traffic circle before, but I think you have answered my question since a round about doesn’t usually have traffic lights, it is simply give way (yield).
@@lillianlamantia9605 a roundabout and a rotary is what we have in New England is very similar it’s just a circle where some people have the right of way and others yield no lights though

Look at the majestic HMS Belfast in the background.
HMS Belfast is a town class light cruiser of the Royal Navy, initially designed to counter the Mogami class heavy cruisers of the Imperial Japanese Navy. Constructed during the interwar period in the 1930’s the town class would remain the most advanced British light cruiser design of the war. Armed with 12, 6” guns in 4 triple turrets HMS Belfast and her sister Edinburgh could land a similar amount of shell tonnage as heavy cruisers of the era.
At the out break of WW2 Belfast would hit a sea mine, breaking her keel and forcing her to undergo repairs until 1943. Upon re-entering service with the Royal Navy Belfast would take part in the destruction of the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst. Belfast would also be present at D-Day, providing shore bombardment at the Normandy landings. Later, during the Korean War, she would be pictured in a truly breathtaking photograph. When Belfast began to open fire still moored in port.
Belfast would go through extensive modernization, receiving a new superstructure, radar systems, removal of the aircraft handling systems located behind the bridge, and the removal of her torpedoes.
When Belfast was finally retired from service she was set to be scrapped alongside the rest of the WW2 British fleet. Fortunately she was saved by a former captain of the vessel before she could be sent to the breakers yard. Preserving the only unit of what was the worlds second largest Navy after WW2.
Damn it Charlie! You shouldn’t include the ship in the video, look what you made me do!
It's a fascinating to visit

just an observation, Londoners get almost as wide eyed, when you randomly says hi to them as Los Angelinos do.

I lost it when he took the Abby Road pic for the dude, then told him to say hi to his folks and watch for deer......😂 Dude must of thought he was so wacked out

Congrats in playing at Leicester Charlie!
Using a phone box to reference Doctor Who is the most American thing ever, and the fact that I don't know if it was intentional or not is even better.
"...red, white and blue...how American..."
Very good, Charlie! I do want to see you get into a politeness loop with some English people though. They’re worse than Canadians!
The pub would have been the best part😂
Sure hope he follows ups with an "English pub bartender" video.
You can tell your mom you made it Charlie, you're playing in London!
But let's be clear, it's because you went international, not because it's London.
Yeah, he could have come to London, Ontario.

“I have only have half a gig of data because Verizon sucks” I felt that so much while I was there! Laughed so hard!
Love from Minnesota.. ya cheese head

Love how he says there's no one to take a picture of him while he's having a video taken of him. Haha.
Can confirm this is 100% accurate… I even wore the same shirt when I was there in 2017 😅
Lol at the plug and face!!! Perfect lineup...
Wasn't it Paul who wasn't wearing his shoes?
Yes you’re right! Paul McCartney wasn’t wearing his shoes. 😊
LOL "almost as cool as the Wisconsin State Fair"...you really got me with "Not even a KWICK Trip"🤣🤣🤣
I tried so hard to get a ticket to his UK show, but they were all sold out :( I was even prepared to go to London, which we all hate!
They must be pretty good folks there. Charlie sold out...in a place with zero association with northern Midwest America.
🤣🤣🤣 Does anyone have the time? Charlie, this whole thing was pure gold! 💛
Charlie’s British accent sounds more like a Booooston accent

I was most interested in that pub visit, but the video decided to end. I suppose that's just how it goes sometimes.
