Oh this is wonderful! Sometimes I see all these amazing street photographers in the big cities, but feel so alone in the DFW (25 years shooting, but relatively new to street) Every time I go out I’m absolutely the only one shooting, but still I can’t help loving it. 30 mins away is a little town called Grapevine… I do a lot of my work there and I’ve got an exhibit right now at the Palace Theater, stop by if you can!
Love Perry’s work but he’s even a better guy. He’s genuine and kind and also a lot of fun. He’s helped me get closer to people when I photograph on the streets. Great to see him get some recognition!
Been waiting for this one! I got to witness Perry shoot 6th a few months back. Wildly talented. Effortlessly picks out details and moments that are easy to miss in a chaotic environment. It's inspiring to see him elevate the mood, defuse a situation that could go sour fast, and be both bold and respectful at the same time. So glad to see it all again
It was so cool to hear Perry talk about the influence that skateboarding has had on his photography. Ive been a street skater for 30+ years and think that street skating and street photography is very similar. Awesome to hear mentions of Goldberg and Templeton as well. Great episode!
Perry! What a beautiful being you are! Light and flash and love!!!! You forgot to mention your time in Portland! We love you! So proud of you! TiTa y Mark, fans forever!❤
Paulie, so stoked you got Perry on here! There are few people I know who are as driven to do their own thing on their terms, and Perry's one of them. Proud of you my friend!
How do I find everyone? I’m often shooting in the smaller towns, but are there ever meetups? Most of the photographers I know are more client based and so few are interested in shooting street.
@ I could definitely put some feelers out for who may be interested or who to go to. Ironically, my mentors studio is right where you are at the very beginning lol.
Love Perry's work, I used to follow his Rome street photography channel, after it ended I lost track, glad to see him killin it in Texas. Great episode as always Paulie.
Hats off to you, you maintained your professionalism, I know i would have reacted differently. "Head of security".... hahahaha - go count tickets old man.
I really enjoy this series of interviews, and I really enjoy those interviews with photographers outside of NYC. DFW does have some good spots for photography, and going to the Texas State Fair offers a lot of chances at images. I look forward to seeing the interview at your next location, wherever it may be. Perry definitely has a good eye, anticipates the moment, and gets a great image. His personality and temperament are well suited to street photography.
Cops escorting someone: "take photos if you want, free country :) " Security: "you take photo I call cops" I swear security are so far up their own asses it's not funny, here in Australia I went to our equivalent of a state fair not long ago, police were patrolling as they do and definitely seen me taking photos of people and didn't care, as soon as the first security guard seen us he told us off, ironically using "there's public around in a public space" for the reason of why we couldn't shoot, like bro learn the law before speaking! Anyway, love Perry's work and attitude, good WT as per usual!
That cop gaslighting you like YOU were the weird one, when in fact there's a damn MONKEY on a dudes shoulder and you wanted a pic. I would have been like... "I thought that monkey was famous and those were his security guards." ... and I would have just made it a reality and kept asking that head of security about that famous monkey and if he was able to get an autograph and just went down this huge rabbit hole about if there was some way I could get backstage passes to see the monkey perform like that to make the whole interaction really weird and have him second guess his decision to stop and talk to me.
You came to Dallas! Damn, I’ve wanted to be interviewed by you for awhile, but didn’t try, because I thought you only did NYC photographers!! 😮 Come back to Dallas!
You can tell Jeff failed the police entrance exam and takes what little authority is given to him as if he owned the fair. Don't "sir" these people, growing up in Texas you run into Jeffs all the time, they don't deserve the time of day!
As mentioned before about this in another similar comment: If you used ten or more rolls of film each week for 9 years, along with expenses for film development and other related costs, you would likely switch to digital, too. I also sold my entire collection of cameras over the years to invest in this one camera, so it balanced out in the end. So, at the end I paid $100 for my Q2.

You must not watch Walkie Talkie very much, do ya? There are several great photographers aren't originally from the cities they're interviewed in. Sometimes that's good. Offers a different interpretation of these places.
Thank you, Paulie, and to everyone who took the time out of your busy day to watch this video. I appreciate you. 🙏❤️
Fantastic work, and you're infectiously positive and kind. Thanks Perry and Paulie.
@@ddrumsthank you for the kind words. I appreciate it. 🙏❤️

Love your energy and work, Perry. Hello from Fort Worth!
Instagram follower+1, Thank you so much for sharing your work❤
I think I speak for everyone when I say, have a day off Jeff
Y'know, people with small powers wanna be big, There's a word for a guy like that, but let's keep it clean ;-)
This dude was WAAAAAAAAAY nicer to Jeff than I would have been if he had approached me like that LMFAO
Perry is a ray of sunshine. Love him.
Love you, Matt! You're the best! ❤️
So the cops had no issues but the "head of security" felt the need to flex like a muppet. Well handled Perry. 🥳
Dollar tree Paul Blart
Damn! Perry has probably the BEST temperament for street photography. So chill and non-confrontational. Great edipsode.
What a nice dude!
"My defiant little self comes out in my work" 😂 yeah mos def! Miss you buddy!
This dude is one of the nicest people on earth. God bless him and keep him safe.

Rudy! Thank you for the kind words. You're awesome!
I’ll see you soon in Denver. 😉
Let’s hit the streets!
As someone from the area, downtown Dallas is DIRE for photography. The fair is always fun, though!

Tita! You're right; I forgot to mention Portland. By the way, one of Daniel’s photos is in this video. Much love and thank you! ❤️🙏
now a massive perry hall fan! man loved this video. as someone who lives in dallas and does street photography, he’s right. love love love this!
Paulie, so stoked you got Perry on here! There are few people I know who are as driven to do their own thing on their terms, and Perry's one of them. Proud of you my friend!

Yep. We had a group photo walk Downtown today. I had to miss today but we/they typically get together & shoot once or twice a month.
Jeff thinking he’s Big Tex

I can’t help but see a strong resemblance to Gerald Undone. Cool to see Perry work in Texas.
@@TerryB there is a hotline baby between you and me, we need a terry walkie talkie episode
Paulie, make it happen. The first Walkie Talkie on a citi bike.
Great energy... The smile makes the difference shooting street, especially using flash up close
Dude is super talented, I see his stuff now and then and always like it.
Hats off to you, you maintained your professionalism, I know i would have reacted differently. "Head of security".... hahahaha - go count tickets old man.
What a fantastic communicator! Really enjoyed this.
Pure coincidence that this video was released to coincide with anniversary of the JFK assassination? (Nov.22, '63)

It's great to see the different ways the featured guests interact with the public
Saw the video pop up and had to watch it
Love to see Dallas on this series!!
Alright!!! Welcome to Dallas, guys!!!
With your DE-ES-CA-LATE-ING skills you should be a police officer who shoots after, not before.
Never pass up an opportunity to make the Gang Unit uncomfortable lmao
Jeff needs to relax. You're head of security at a state fair, buddy. Humble yourself.
Welcome to Dallas. Enjoying the interviews.

Well dang! Didn’t know you popped up I Dallas! Come back!
Bro cooked
Who are the 14 people that disliked this? I just don'e get it. This was a great walkie talkie as usual. Perry seems like a good soul.
The eyeball looks like one I photographed at a sculpture park in St. Louis.
jeff needs to grab a fried cheesecake
Damn you came to Dallas! Welcome!
As a street photographer born and raised in DFW, I hope to get good enough to be on a Walkie Talkie!
That Q2 is not a "little point n shoot" 💀
It’s called dirty for a reason lol an austin tx walkie talkie would be sick
Security Dimmadome definitely knows how to kill the vibe. 💀 it’s ok to do your job but homies hat must of a been a little too tight.
great video! that "director of security was a total douche bag- he personifies everything bad about "security people"
my boyssss 🌟🌟🌟
🤜❤️🤛
Didn't know Gerald Undone took pictures.
When you got it you got it
I watch street photography videos to hear people stories
Let's go!!! Dallas photographers getting some attention!!! I can't believe I might have passed yall at some point!
Brilliant episode, really enjoyed this.
I see you big dog! Great video!
I love you, Bryan! Thank you! 🙏❤

Great video, love Perry’s story and personality. His photos are great too!!!. The security guard, was a dick though.
Cool videos, Paulie B what kind of digital camera was Perry Hall shooting with
Leica Q2 Ghost 👻
Thx

This is what my wife thinks is gonna happen to me everytime i take photographs outside (we just moved out of dfw)
26:43 in the background would be a cool photo 2nd guys Head is outside but not from the 1st one :D
Film was gettin too expensive cuz inflation, so i got a lika Q2 lol

@perryhallstreetphotography3746 10 rolls of film in a week is nutty.
@@Rumplestiltskin7 indeed it is! 💸🤣
Jeff out there enforcing that great Texas tradition of FREEDOM! Great video. That Eyeball would look better with a large black top hat.
I really enjoyed watching this. Maybe you should go and ask Ed Templeton for a Walkie Talkie. Would be rad.
🪄✨️✨️✨️🤘😎🤘✨️✨️✨️
Jeff was a jerk. The cop said this is a public space you can do what you want but we can't stop walking. So that's it. Leave me alone jeff.
First
film is too expensive, so the $5,000 q2 ghost is the natural alternative

I’m sorry, but if you’re gonna do a episode in Dallas, you should’ve worked with a Photographer actually from Dallas… tired of the vultures
