Normally, I was not really interested in plants. But you inspired me to start with Kratky. I am now trying to grow my own Lemon Basil in Hydroponics.
    Thanks for your videos.

It worked OK. But I grew a decent scotch bonnet chili plant. But it became to big for my small setup and died

Mr Starr, you truly ARE a ⭐️!! I first discovered you when I was doing research on Asian Pears, and today I stumbled on you once again while doing research on Kratky!! 😊👍 I have one question for you, if you don’t mind: if you refill and allow your plant to grow bigger, do you add more nutrients to the water? If so, how much? Thank you, sir!! -Warmly, your newest subscriber

I didn't even know about the different kind of roots (water and air roots) great video! I might give it a try now! :)

Excellent video!!! I have an old aerogarden but I don't think the light is strong enough and the lettuce looked like it was trying to bolt. The pump doesn't work either. It's old!!!! Love your videos.

I'm in my first year of growing peppers and I'm learning from my own mistakes and from your videos (and other youtubers like Rob from 7pot club, Peter Stanley, ChilliChump).
For those who is afraid of mixing solutions - you shouldn't. My first ever batch of 60 plants that grew in double cups and coco\peat mix survived lack of Calcium and Magnesium, survived overuse of 20-20-20 masterblend solution and now successfully growing at my yard, like it's was nothing.
I also started some new seeds exclusively for Kratky and for some experimentations. I ended up mixing my own nutrient solutions from basic salts after many trials and errors - prepared stuff like Flora series is pretty damn expensive here and kind of overpriced for what it is (basic salts at the same time cost around 1-2$ per kilo at any near gardener's supply store). Current nutrient's plan is 224 NO3, 14 NH4, P 39, K 264, Ca 190, Mg 36, S 56 mixed from Monopotassium phosphate, Magnesium nitrate, Potassium nitrate, Calcium nitrate, Potassium sulfate and additional chelates.
Surprisingly, there's not much information about mixing solutions from scratch on YT - usually it's just Masterblend+Cal+Mag at best and no in depth look at different growth stages plans related to peppers specifically.

A lot of people who mix nutrients don't care much about the chemistry of it, more about the biology of the plant. A shame really.

Thank you so much for these videos! my sister turned me on to them. I'm curious if you'd be interested in a home grow kit on us? I was so happy to see some of the same methods I'd used in the past, but definitely learned a whole lot more. You rock.

Oh, wow. I didn't know that when refilling, not to refill back to the original water amount. I did that with my kratky thinking it should be fine. Hopefully my plants don't drown!

    Hi,
I am completly new to hydroponics - and have two questions to the setup you've demonstrated here:
    a) does this setup work for Chilis, too?
    b) what were the containers used to originally/what size and "attributes of the container" are important/usefull?
(not sure if I can get similar containers here in switzerland)

What's going on with the whiskey bottles? Looks like you have pipettes cut so you can pour in new nutrients? How are you keeping the plant from falling in?

Thanks for the basics. One question. Once the plant grows and we decide not to harvest yet, can we move them to DWC with air pump etc and submerge the entire root and continue to grow? Or should we just stick to kratky with small refills until harvest ?

Excellent explaination. Now when you harvest you lettace, do you just cut the top off and let them grow back, or do you start all over again with new lettuce seedlings plants. Someone in another comment asked about hydro outside, yes you can. Keep on Growin' with Mike VanDuzee shows his gutter downspouts outside that are hydro. You just have to keep an eye on the level of water / nutrients. Khang why do you choose Aerogarden fertilizer? Just curious, we know it works, but there are many different hydro fertilizers. You do a lot of hydro and you might have a reason to use it that I haven't understood. Thanks for all you work in making videos. Just got a Hidden Harvest grow light and in the process of bringing some of the hydro back into the house.
